Maryse B

Oh yes! Trying to be there! 😜

Eileen Parkman

Have an ordinary and boring time because those are the best chats! 😁💕

Kourtney Frantz

Well shoot…I’m going to my 40th class reunion…but question..have you gone to any of your reunions?

Debs Badger

I'll be doing laundry, but should be able to make it.

Agnes EvaR

Let's have an average time with you again.

Ashley Evers

What if I have concerns about your taste in poetry? 🤣

Angie Woollard

I'll reprise a limerick I posted on one of your posts a year or two ago: There once was a man from Orlando With bass voice and skill on piano Much to Kathy's chagrin With naught but a grin He preferred to go commando.

Jordi S

Geoff chat or housework? Which will be more interesting?

Tine

Woohoo!! Glad I am able to attend

Eileen Parkman

And a limerick for those who don't know what that it: "So, what is a limerick?"asks Mother. "It's a form of verse", said Brother. "In which lines one and two, Rhyme with line five when it's through, And three and four rhyme with each other."

Lois McCray

As usual I'll have to watch the replay. Plus your CD should be arriving in my Saturday mail. Best weekend of the month.

Sue Armstrong

Since you brought up cheese in your latest poll, what's your favorite cheese, for snacking or for cooking?

Sarah Reach

Odds are i'll be catching you on the replay, I have a work event during your normal Chaturday time windows. Have fun!

Lynda Rood

I will be there, looking forward to it.

Doyne

Fun! Just curious...how many autographed and unautographed CDs will you have shipped by the end of the week?

Lynn M

I’m from Wisconsin, particularly the dairy part of the state, we have very strong opinions 🤣🤣

Patricia Schuman

This year, if you’re singing a carol I hope that you wear bright apparel Though, as we’ve all seen You don’t care for green I think red is the right shade for Daryl!

Sue Armstrong

Ooooh, Wisconsin cheeses are delicious!

Rachel Dempsey

🐶 Any chances of a Tommy themed/cameo music video? Maybe “Elvis- Hound Dog” Or “Florence &tm- Dog Days are over” Maybe, “Strumbellas- Dog”?! 😂😂😂

Karen & Lauren

A cheesy limerick (stolen from de web) One Saturday morning at three, a Cheesemonger's shop in Paree, Collapsed to the ground with a thunderous sound, Leaving only a pile of de brie.

Patricia Schuman

Just curious, as it's been a little over two years since we first saw you wearing glasses (or, at least Goff was wearing them in "Way Down"). You seemed to doubt at first whether they were necessary, but it seems like we frequently see you wearing them. Have they helped with all the computer work you do, and/or have you needed a stronger prescription since you first started?

Lynn M

Nothing better than cheese curds so fresh they squeak and they are still warm 😁

Gillian Drysdale

if you had time (we know you don’t!) is there an artist you would like to arrange a song for, what song would you choose or would you consider writing one?

Mona Iren Hugaas

There once was a man so mighty. He made the whole world shake slightly. Father. Husband. Musician. A force not to be reckoned with; tread lightly.

Catherine King

I think the beach boys "my 409" would be fabulous for your vocal range and cool video possibilities. Do they have strict controls?

Morgan Haynes

How are you adjusting your work and sleep schedule with William being back in school?

Jeanette Pencz

Oh yes. I love the chaturdays with you.

Patricia Schuman

(Sung to the tune of “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer) Geoff, he got run over by a ‘moose’ here Bringing home a PupCup for his pet And he wears a helmet in the pool now ‘Cause Tommy loves to jump right on his head

Silv E

There once was a dude from Oviedo Who ate a real spicy Dorito He said "What should I wear? Should I dress like a bear?" But all of his fans yelled "a Speedo!"

LaDonna Hickey

I'm a fairly new but obsessed fan so you may have already responded to this but.... do you ever tour and/or do live shows somewhere? Have you made any other CD's? My copy of Dusty Old Songs should be arriving any day now!

Sarah Borzelli

I'm glad that, while your hand is hurting from signing all the CD's, you're still able to chat! How is your kitchen? Would you mind doing a kitchen tour with us?

James M.

You should do a cover of “Istanbul” by The Four Lads!

Andrew Hawkins

I'll try my best to be there. Question for you though, when will we get a Geoff original?

Patricia Schuman

I just moved to Florida from Wisconsin (grew up in Wausau). I am amazed at all the places that are now offering" Wisconsin cheese curds" as an appetizer. There's a clip from a long time ago when VoicePlay was doing a show in Madison where Geoff extolled the virtues of the Culver Butterburger. We were genuinely surprised when we saw the number of Culvers that have been built here in Florida just in the past 3 years or so.

Marie Galaxy

Can’t wait for the upcoming Chaturday Conversing with the man who likes gray It’ll be a fun time Like penning this rhyme My favorite way to play!

Lynn M

That’s awesome, I’m in Marshfield now, but I grew up in Wausau too 😃. Oh yeah, Culver’s is sooo good and we just kinda take it for granted.

Lady Payne

I'm on vacation so I can attend!!!!!!!!!!!

Mikki Fullerton

In Florida where sunbeams play, A musical dude sings each day. With harmonies sweet, And rhythms on beat, He charms all who hear his display.

Hunter

There once was a cowboy whose beard in life was surely a pain, Like the dusty old plains he rode with great strain, Strangers shared glasses and looking over a barrel, One partner cried out “Look out! Here comes Daryl!”

Deborah Krach

I already received my cd and have played it several times already. I just love it! Thanks for making this cd! Keep doing what you do so well. You make my day!

DnD Addict

Oh no, I will probably be at the theatre watching SIX the Musical when this happens... I will just have to watch when I get home

Ilona Dever

Would love to know how many CDs were ordered.

Christine

Given the genius way you make a cover your own and all the work you put into each one, surely the artist in you must want to write and produce your own song. So why don't you? Please, please, please!!!

Lady Payne

nooooooooooooooooo - I just realized I have to go to a wedding! I will have to watch the replay.

Blue Raven

A Square in Orlando was blazing He sang low and caused people gazing He ate lots of cheese and squeezed out a breeze which sound turned out rather amazing

Clare Green

Geoff makes wonderful music all day, for his friends in the group called Voiceplay. He drops down to the bass, and shakes all time and space, and makes the whole world smile all the way😀

KorKnot

For months I've been here, listening to & watching your videos for a lot longer. I'm ashamed to admit that I cannot think of a question to ask you that probably hasn't been asked & answered.

Druid

It’ll be my first chat I can’t waitttttttttt 👀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

HermeticHeretic

G'day from the land down under. I've been doing Tibetan/Mongolian throat singing for about 8 years, and conventional bass singing for about 1 and a half. My subharmonics still need some work. The problem is that the gravelly texture of subs sometimes bleeds into my normal voice. All that throat singing practice isn't exactly helping either. So here's the question. How do you prevent the unintentional subharmonic when you're just trying to sing low with your chest voice?

Amanda Hovendon

About how many times did you and Kathy have to go out and rebuy packing supplies for new orders? And how many cd’s have you sold so far?

Eliz Brown

There once was a Geoff who could sing, A Kathy he met and gave bling, With friends he would Play, Raise their Voices all day, Kathy gave him a son, Geoff was King!

Amanda Hovendon

While listening to your new Dusty Old Songs album, what song stands out the most to you now? Like is there a new selection for you? For me I feel like Big Iron is the one that stands out with Shenandoah following closely behind. I’ve always had a knack for a good western story even when it’s in song mode and you certainly have a gift in telling a good story ❤️

Amanda Hovendon

How did William like summer camp? Are you into camping or just sitting around a campfire?

Keith Smith

Would VoicePlay consider recording a barber shop quartet set?

Amanda Nott

What types of music or artists do you have on your playlist for when you're just hanging out at home or exercising or in the car? Do you have your own music on that playlist?

MfMartin

Hi Geoff! In the last webchat you said that when you have time for yourself all you need is some quiet and a book. I'm curious what kind of literature do you like? Who are your favorite authors? And what is your last reading?

Marie DesJardin

When Geoff pumps out that low bass It vibrates through bodies and space Whether a new reactor Or silly detractor The notes always wrinkle their face

Lynda Rood

Hey Geoff, I don't know if you have heard of the artist Jim Glaser. One of his songs is "Lights of Albuquerque" When you have a few minutes, (lol), look it up, it's a beautiful song. I have grown up in Albuquerque, and I get to see the lights every night, and our beautiful Sandia Mountains also.

Manasi Kane

I don’t have any limericks or concerns 😊. Looking forward to the chat though !

Ola Rozenfeld

Songs I'd love to hear your interpretations of: "Dance Me to the End of Love", "Hallelujah".

Marie Galaxy

Oooh…”Hallelujah” would be AWESOME!

Scott Boa

Yes, Hallelujah would be great.

Druid

I am not suggesting this happens to a stellar musician such as yourself, but perhaps you have heard of a struggle that occurs among other creative folk… they’re arranging a song, hit a creative wall, and feel completely stuck. What are your… er… what go-to strategies would you recommend for when a musician experiences such a dilemma (e.g., going back to music theory roots, switching to major/minor, adding a key change, walking away and pretending the arrangement never happened)? Again, all hypothetically speaking, as I would never presume you’ve experienced such a dilemma! 👀🤪 (Apologies if you’ve answered this many much times before… I’m catching up on web chats! Thank you so much for sharing your time and insights with us!! 👏🏼)

Blue Raven

Oh, young sir - now look what you've started... ... again. This one properly needs a little explanation. Back in ancient times - when both dinosaurs an CD's saw the dawn of light - ridiculous limericks were "hot" where I lived. Then around the mid 80's limericks with a twist arose. If they were a world wide trend, I don't know (the internet wasn't a thing back then, so we knew very little about the world), but in my neck of the woods, we started writing twisted limericks 'bout our friends, our enemies , our teachers, the politicians - well in short - about everybody. The recipe was simple. Write a true limerick (AABBA), which is inappropriate at best, or even better - downright obscene and then twist the last word so it differs from the rhyme (now going AABBC) and perhaps also change the amount of syllables to make it "not fit at all". The twisted limerick must become really silly, but still make some kind of sense. The obscene part (following the AABBA structure) then only happens in the mind of the "clever" listener - and your back is free! 😊 So - here we go... A beat boxer mastered his craft he pranked everybody and laughed with colleague or guest his humor was blessed but then he would take out his... carrot The only things I can say in my defense is, that I'M not the one with the "dirty" mind, hail to the CarrotKing and the limerick would be better (and worse) in my native languish. But why do I still feel, I have to apologize for this limerick...? *sigh*

Blue Raven

Or you could attend the chat and watch the replay of the wedding 😉

angelika bock

Well, you asked, so: I would love to hear you narrate a less sinister Story than Edgar Allan Poe, anything in the works? As for my ears, Just narrate The Hobbit and I shall be in Heaven!

Karen & Lauren

Oh Lord. Years ago there was a man here that literally rode a bicycle around town wearing only a speedo. Not a good sight (or memory).

Carl Thomas

May end up joining you during a gig in Hyde Park 🤘

Carl Thomas

Are you actually dropping an octave and producing a sub or folds coming apart and producing fry? Could just be that note is too low at that time and you can't keep closure at which point you either fry or try and force it with lower larynx and compression. My chest voice ends where my normal voice stops. If I have to drop larynx that's not my chest voice anymore that's an extended vocal technique.

Carl Thomas

Times like these we should all remember the classical bass range is E2-E4. Geoff's range is a fair bit lower in his relaxed tone and he can get it lower still with his darkened larynx drop: you might be copying that.

HermeticHeretic

My speaking voice is a D2, and I've reached A1 with subs. Often the subs will come out when I'm just speaking, and it can freak people out, especially when it's unexpected. It feels like my throat singing muscle memory is kicking in, and my voice naturally gravitates towards the technique it's had the most experience in.

Silv E

😂

Valentine

Geoff, will we ever hear your rendition of Blues In The Night which was written with you in mind and has been waiting like 80 years for you...when that last note sinks down, in the niiiight...you need a man who can GROAN.

Samuel Volle

Hi Geoff, this may sound weird, but how does it FEEL to hit a low chest note like a G1 or F1? As that's the low end of your chest range (at least by all accounts online), does it take extra effort to hit those notes? You've said previously to be relaxed and not to push yourself too much, and that it's more important to be a good singer than a lower singer. I'm an aspiring low bass singer (my range pales in comparison obviously), and I'd like to know how it's "supposed" to feel hitting lower notes. Should I feel it in my throat, or in my chest? What are your thoughts on "breathing from the diaphragm"? Is it better (as a bass) to sing sitting or standing? Stuff like that.

Cécile Roussey

Hello ^^ I just got back from my parents’ house and haven’t been there for over 24 hours, checking my emails... and I had a feeling that tomorrow is Chaturday... and as soon as I open my mailbox, my intuition turns out to be right... so I’ll be there ^^

Leonie Frenkert-Ghazi

Hello, Geoff, I have some questions. I hope, you won't mind. You don't seem to have "taken off" with your increasing popularity. Do you feel that people who have known you for a long time look at you differently today? Are they proud of you? Are they happy for you?

Leonie Frenkert-Ghazi

Another question: How do you feel about all the heartemojis, the many declarations of love that fans send you in their comments on social media? Personally, I would find that rather uncomfortable, but at the DNC that just ended, I noticed how more emotional the Americans are. Maybe we Germans are just more sober...

Katie Haycox

Sorry if this has been asked before, do you ever have your heart set on doing a song but just can’t get it to work for you?

Leonie Frenkert-Ghazi

This question I am asking now for the 3rd time, perhaps this time I might geth an answer, lol: If you had the free choice and no money, time or any other obstacle stood in the way, where would you like to travel?

Leonie Frenkert-Ghazi

And my last question for today: Do you have any idea when your ancestors emigrated from Italy to the USA and how/where they initially lived?

Lois McCray

How are your packing elves faring with your CD sales? I received mine a day earlier than expected. 🎉

Anne

Is there a genre of music that you would like to explore that you haven't yet? Either for singing or for just listening to?

Rickie Odem

I love the Western themed songs so much! I hope for the day that Geoff does some more classics like “El Paso”, “Cool Water” or my all-time sentimental favorite “Happy Trails” …

Samuel Siggelow

Hey Geoff, I head this song by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga and I instantly thought of you making a killer cover. The song is called "Die with a Smile." Even if you don't do anything with it, I think it's still worth a listen!

Maria Moore

Would you ever do a cover of little drummer boy by bing Crosby for Christmas. I love the song and think you would spectacular with it

Lenita Schofield

Could you either do time in a bottle by Jim croche or fire and rain by James Taylor

Swan

(mostly a joke question) Do you have like one pair black jeans you just really really like or seven of extremely similar ones, which you wear in most videos? ;) (Same for the black boots, though no judgement on either, the boots especially are fantastic) ((again, MOSTLY joking))

Dale Stevens

Please, I read Lenita Schofield’s comment and think both of those songs would be great if you would do them.
