This was a few days ago. Since then I've done 4 vocal sessions for this track, filmed minis with VP and already received 4 mixes of this song. Any guesses as to what we're looking at here? I'll get you started - it's NOT Gordon Lightfoot.

Good luck!

It might look like a mess, but I bet it will sound amazing. Can't wait.🤩

Julia Lou

How did you get a scan of my brain before coffee? 😝

Filiz E

No clue, but I am excited!❤️

ZAYRAY!

King of the road is my guess

Pat P

🤔

Dolly Geotes

Unfortunately I know nothing about music but love listening to it. And I know what ever it is will be awesome

Angie Woollard

Ooh nice! Thatsa lotta tracks! Starting off slow and then upping the tempo a bit - I look forward to hearing that! Gosh I love these screencap shares of your session. (Lead demo track - you usually don't have that in there, do you? Innnnnteresting....)

Tina Wolf

Another Elvis Presley song maybe I hope

candi lunsford

Yep, that looks like a mess. No clue what it will turn into but I know I’ll love it!

Brandy Franklin

Something with a Santana type vibe and 2 clones

Justin Bush

A heavily reimagined Wanted Dead or Alive

Jacky Friedman

Not s clue. And yes. It's a mess. But a good mess. Can't wait to find out what mess it is 🤗

Jordi S

Instead of saying it's a big ol mess, you should say "look at this melange of notes" 😊

EMMA JONES

What a big colourful mess 😂 I have no idea what it is, but I can't wait. I'm sure it will sound super amazing! 😄

Mikki Fullerton

Emotions by Mariah Carey, obviously! 😉 But yes, I'll happily look at this mess, thank you for the teaser. Strings, guitar, and 80-120bpm.. hmmm... 🤔 And I could always guess it's Wayfaring Stranger, King of the Road, Ring of Fire, or Hallelujah, but only because you've said those are on the list so that feels somewhat cheaty. 😄

Tara Williamson

All I can get from this is that the song starts with the chorus, so I GUESS that narrows it down? But not by much.

Manasi Kane

No guesses , just glad that we will get the resolved version of this colourful confusion 🤣 Can’t wait ! ❤️

Cloudy Skies

'Nature Trail to Hell' by Al Yankovic, clearly. 😋

Amanda

I’m intrigued by the “desolate guitar”s - is that what you shared earlier?

Diane Holland

What a beautiful splash of color!!! I love looking at your Chaos. It could be something from George Michaels or Richard Marx. Whatever it is I'm sure that it is going to be my new favorite.

Michelle and Quincy

"Mournful cello" "acapella chorus" I'm leaning more torwards something like Johnny Cash's "Hurt" - M

Cloudy Skies

I see "spanish" and I stick to my Spanish guitar idea ... maybe 'Spanish Caravan' by The Doors. That ought to be pretty old and dusty.

Karen & Lauren

Spanish Groove and Schoolyard Drums. Hmmmm. Sounds Old and Dusty. 😉

Carol Franklin

No idea but it always looks a mess & ends up brilliant

Erica Medori

I think that it might be another Johnny Cash

Catherine King

What!! No Edmund Fitzgerald???!!!! Lol

Rachel P.

One of these days, you'll take pity on us and give us some Gordon Lightfoot, something from the Eagles, or some Willie Nelson, I just know it, LOL!

Catherine King

Still hoping for your rendition of "My 409'

Jaezrar

I have no idea, though you can get a gist if you look at the pieces as to the music type. Either way though, I know it will be a hit :)

Karin Wolf

I'd like to know if anybody who knows this programme (maybe uses it) gets a clue...??? Me being a complete ignoramus... not so much.. 🤣😅 But waiting patiently!

Scott Pearce

If I had a full year I'd never be able to guess this

Debs Badger

The Eagles give copyright strikes, so generally speaking they're out.

Emma Yadkin

Guess it's your next song.

Maria Moore

I hope its sundown or if you could read my mind

Maria Moore

Just going of the artists name that is

Cindy L

A Jim Croce song maybe? Your voice would be killer in any of those. Either way, pleeeeeeeeeease make it sooner rather than later. Your impatient fan, Cindy L.

Rachel P.

Aww, that's terrible, I didn't know they did that! Strike them, then, and thank you!

Pickle Sandwich

This is not a mess. The rainbow connection heard you were looking for it and it came to find you instead.

Stacey V.

Could it be the " DownEaster Alexa" By Billy Joel ?

Talbot

A Rose in Spanish Harlem! Obviously.

Daniel Anderson

The more "messy it is", the more we'll get blown away by it!

donna stockwell

You can always make the song very special no matter what you do..❤️😊

Susana

I have-no-idea! I'm a disaster in music... // Of course, I'm sure we'll like it.

Marie Galaxy

The only thing I know about a mess like that is that I don’t know how to clean it up. But…I…know…you…do!! I usually can’t stand messes, but this one is special…I just know it!! Eagerly waiting for the clean result….

Hunter

Intro Chorus Ow. Oh wait that’s SLOW did not see the SL at all. I need better glasses.

Dawn Jones

Tubular bells? Love it!!!

Brittany Nanney

I’m just gonna guess Hurt because I have no idea what’s going on in that mess. I’m hoping eventually I will be right. 😁

KorKnot

I have absolutely no guess or idea as to what that might be. 🤷‍♀️ Of course, it goes without saying I'm very curious to hear it & find out what it is. 😃 If I ever gather the brains & nerve--I'll try to learn about & how to read them.

Jonna J

I think song is like 3m40s ish long, the clip we heard was from 5th bar or so. I've learned my lesson that the key is not necessarily c even though the daw says so. I feel like i heard fm7 and ebm7 chords in the clip, but could be totally wrong.

Jonna J

All these words just to say "I have no idea"

Ilona Dever

So, Daryl wasn't available this time?

Suzy Bailey

I've given up even trying to guess at this point. All I know is, your kind of big 'ol mess is the best kind of mess I've ever come across! 🤩 Looking forward to it as always! 💜

Cynthia Ross

“Desolate guitar” and “tubular bells”?! How the flip do those go together!?! 🤔 The only thing I can come up with is something western. Maybe Marty Robbins. You haven’t done his “El Paso” yet. The guitar would be right for it, and the bells could be used for like clock bells for when the duel goes down. IDK. Truth told I got nothin’. 🤷‍♀️ The one thing I do know is that I’ve always considered you to be a lot smarter than average, and every time I look at that program, I am more and more certain of it. That’s the most complex thing I’ve ever seen and I used to do a lot in Photoshop.

Crisstina Joubert

It’s still Greek to me, but lovely just the same. Can’t wait to hear those colors. Geez, you are busy!!❤️

Sarah Borzelli

You're Superman! Of course it's 'Ring of Fire'

B Sprak

Well, you used ol' and mess to describe it. Maybe it's one of your old & boring songs that are the opposite of old and boring. Given your description, this will be an audio, video, and vocal masterpiece. I'm so looking forward to the release!!!

Tara Williamson

"King of the Road" starts with the chorus, so that's the guess I'm going with.

Jeanette Pencz

😂 absolutely no idea. But it will be a masterpiece for sure and I am here for it 🥰😍

Bob Gray

I think the left side nonsense is there for distraction. There's less than 10 tracks in focus. Don't have the brain power at this hour to figure much else out.

Ethan Kayne

I'm waiting for the just kidding post that says psych it is Gordon Lightfoot LOL

Suzann Harris

Whoa . . . You must be a genius to understand this!

Cletis

Something from Tom Lehrer, given his recent passing?

Bob Gray

You're trying to trump Home Free's redneck version of Man of Constant Sorrow?

Maria Rydström

I have no idea what this can be but i am looking forward to it very much🩷

Dan Black

I dunno, but I like the sound of "BASS" (in dark orange) and "LOW Mmmms" (in the greenish area of the top row of tabs). "DESOLATE GUITARS" (in brown) sound promising, too.

Cécile Roussey

I have no idea what it can be... and I can’t wait to know what it will give... good work as always ;-)

Judi B E

Spanish groove and schoolyard stomp....🤔 Guitars, drums, bass, bells...🤷‍♀️ It looks amazing, kind of like a Picasso. El Dorado? I don't know why that popped into my head.

Jenny Pelinka Author

I have no idea, but it looks interesting.🤔 I'm curious 😁💜

PetraH

The guitars are again desolate, the cello is mournful… this looks like another masterpiece to me. As usually, I don't know what it is, but I think the pretty guitar part made it in the final track! Looking forward to this - yeah!!

Jen Fraley

If it's Marty Robbins' El Paso, you will have fulfilled all of the songs my Dad used to sing to me when I was little.

Janis M Carney

Beyond clueless, but confident your 'big old mess' will translate into gorgeous as usual.

ChazyUK

“Another fine mess you have got yourself into” as a certain actor/comedian would say 🤣🤣🤣 joking of course because you never create a mess. No idea 🤷🏼‍♀️ what the song is, I never do but did get the VP spot on with the last release, not the title but the trilogy, then doubted myself haha 🤣 Good job some of us like surprises cos yep this really will be one for me 🤣 Whatever it is, we all know it’s all down to YOUR hard work and lots of it, the end result is always perfection 😊

Tema Krempley

Spanish groove and schoolyard stomp? Are you having school kids and toredors facing off in dance battle? If so, hell yes! If not, still hell yes!

ANITA M WRIGHT

I am sure whatever it is it will be awesome!

SunnyOutlook

Still getting Marty Robbins vibes.

Tara Williamson

I listened to Roger Miller's original "King of the Road" while I looked at this screenshot and the patterns of verses and choruses match almost exactly (I assume Geoff's version will be longer than the original 2 and a half minutes), so yeah, that's definitely what I think this is. Can't wait!

Susana

Me too... I'm anxious

Susana

We are anxious... But we are patient, we'll wait trying to guess which the song is. /// I hope one day you'll sing Red Right Hand, I love that song by Nick Cave. Geoff, you'd surely make a wonderful version.

Sagitta

That would be a bit different. It's hard to imagine Lehrer's songs in Geoff's register, but I'd be up for it.
