The eagle-eyed amongst you probably already spotted this video out there in the world, but for those of you who hadn't, Peter Barber and I sat down for a chat a couple of weeks ago and had a good long chin wag about all kinds of stuff but mostly bass singing. Peter's a super good guy and I hope you can take a few minutes out to watch the vid. Don't forget to subscribe to his channel! He's FAAAAAR more entertaining than I am.

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

MEGAN FEAR

Just watched it. Really insightful, got to learn some stuff about early voiceplay I didn't know :)

Tine

Hmm.. I watched and you still remain FAR more entertaining and interesting to me. I do always say that boring-ness is heavily underrated. Nice try ;)

Stephanie Graham

Yes! I saw this morning during the premiere. I really enjoyed the conversation between you and Peter! 💜

Angie Woollard

I beg to differ - you are exceptionally entertaining! (I mean...I must think that as here I am, on your Patreon...) I'm actually halfway through the interview as we speak! I'm enjoying your stories and perspective on things.

MJ

Y’all I am watching it now and I love it so much because you are the king of bass and Tim and Peter also I love your guys stuff

Denaliland

It was a lovely conversation. Enjoyed your interaction.

Hunter

Just finished watching it! And I am glad to see you getting the attention that your talent deserves! And thank you for giving this to us!

Jason Cranford

I just finished watching it, so great!

DnD Addict

Its an amazing interview. I am so glad you agreed to chat with him. I know it meant a lot to Peter. Next we need a Geoff and Bass Gang collab 😉

Melisendre

I watched the video during the premier and enjoyed it very much. Since Peter started his interview series I was hoping for an interview with you. And no, you are defenetly not the boringest flavor of bass.

Doroti 🤍

I really liked it! Thank you guys

The Lou Crew

I watched the video at work and loved it. Don't tell my boss.

Lois McCray

Peter and the Bass Gang are wonderful. Subscribed to him long ago. His pit viper props to your low notes are always a bonus.

Filiz E

You are never boring and always so entertaining🤗 this was a great interview❤ But the one thing I want to know is that did Peter manage to change your mind about you not being a ture bass?🤣

Mikki Fullerton

I appreciate whenever you do an interview as it's always interesting to hear you talk about your music, so I was glad to see this get released. However, I must politely protest your ranking order of entertainment skills, as I don't think Peter has quite caught up to you yet. 😉

Sarah Reach

I was there for the premiere, and been anticipating it since someone from Peter's Patreon tipped me off that it was coming. I really really enjoy these interviews that you have done and hope you find the opportunity to do more sometime.

Laura Müller

I have already seen it and your conversation was very entertaining. I always enjoy these Interviews. And no good Sir, your 'flavor of bass' is anything but boring.

Veronika Troll

The "eagelest-eyed" ones watched in during the premiere;) It was a great conversation!:)

R. W. Hansen

I don't think I'd go so far s to say he's "more" entertaining but I do enjoy his videos. Looking forward to this interview.

Mia

Just finished watching it. You were such a gracious guest. I'm sure he'll remember this for years to come. And your bass is definitely not vanilla 😅

Tara Congo

Such a fun interview! That hour went by waaaay too quickly.

Mona Iren Hugaas

I just watched it, and it was soo fun, and no, it was not boring, nor old. I adore Peter and I adore you. So this was a perfect combo to my evening.

Melissa Struxness

Oooh gonna watch now. Just now getting on you tube. I follow him. He knows what he is talking about. You are both entertaining!

Gretchen G

Hey, that's awesome. I'll definitely check it out later.

Karen & Lauren

He is entertaining, but you, sir, are forgetting that YOU are a main factor in that reason. (And your interview was FAAAAAR more entertaining than Tim's. 🤫)

Mary Benno

He may be entertaining, but you have much better hair! LOL!

Karin Wolf

I found it by sheer happy accident... made my day!!

Cindy Smith

Watched this one on Peter's Patreon, and loved it--thank you for taking some precious time away from the "grind" to chat with him, for his sake and for ours! The "flavors of bass" bit was fun, although I notice you still seem skeptical about being a true bass. 😁 (But true bass or no, you are certainly never boring!) I love that the answer to "how do you make your choices about putting your own spin on things" is as simple as, essentially, "you sit in a room and throw everything at the wall and see what sticks." Also, yes, Tennessee Ernie Ford FTW!

Huldra Draco

Really enjoyed the interview, Geoff! And nope, you remain the most entertaining 😄

Cindy Smith

Agreed. Tim is a gifted singer and seems like a genuinely good dude, but I enjoyed this chat quite a bit more!

Jay Fritz

I just watched it, and always enjoy the chance to see into the mind of the "remarkable bass who doesn't think he's a bass." About every reaction Peter does to your stuff he mentions that Geoff doesn't think he's a bass, but he's a bass, or says something about Geoff is a much lower bass than I am.

Katherine Powell

I am watching this evening! Ever since Peter mentioned you would be the next interview after Jen I have been impatiently waiting for this...... Because you are NOT boring. I'm not even going to talk about flavors though because that seems like things could go weird fast. 🤣

Lexy Wolfe (aka Pam)

Don't put yourself down, Geoff. You need to be a good example to that handsome little clone of yours.

Jill Weimer Koeninger 🐉

It was sooooo NOT boring! Totally interesting! Great questions and even some from you to Peter. Now that is another talent I never knew you had. 😏

Jacky Friedman

Thank you for the awesome interview with Peter Barber. It was extremely interesting and fun. I agree. Don't put yourself down. You definitely aren't boring. You are fun and genuine guy with an amazing voice. No matter what register/octave you sing in. And I think Kathy and William would definitely agree.

Grace Files

I watched it a bit ago and I loved it so much!! I loved hearing more about you, your experiences with VoicePlay and more. You are really the most genuine guy and that is such a great trait to have. Also you are definitely wayyy more entertaining than you think. Like I love hearing your stories. Thank you so much for doing this❤️❤️

Alyssa Daniels

That was such a great interview, Geoff! Thanks for taking the time out of your insane schedule to talk with Peter. I know a lot of us have been hoping for something like this! It was such a genuine conversation. 😊

Carol Franklin

What a brilliant interview. I always watch Peter’s reactions to you & Voiceplay & I know he rates all of you highly.

Mikki Fullerton

Just finished the interview and I have to say if we're talking flavors, I think of your voice as more of a bourbon than a vanilla, my reasoning being it's less common than vanilla, it's smooth but full of rich warmness, and (sorry) it's been aged to perfection.

Lethe

Thank you - that was so interesting, learning some of the differences and similarities of what you each do.

Caroline Larochelle

I learned so much stuff in this interview! Thank you. The section where Peter and you talked about operatic voice vs amplified voice helped me understand the link between training, resting, practicing, keeping healthy habits and performing efficiently. So interesting.

Amanda W

Geoff, you are, by far, my favorite flavor of bass. 💜💜💜

Randiskye

That was weird. I opened to this and noticed the thumbnail you have up is from GRITS, immediately my work music starts playing your cover of that exact song. (It's not even a playlist, it's Pandora on multi station shuffle so completely random.) It's the rise of the machines, People! Anyway, that was too out there not to share, I saw Peter B. was teasing this and will watch asap! Should be great!

Andrea Oliver

Watched it on Peter's patron. Will probably watch it again. Love you both.

Sarah Reach

When I heard the part about the different flavors of Bass, I immediately thought about that cake you made for your birthday, the white cake with browned butter and toasted sugar. I have thought about that recipe a lot as a metaphor for your music. Every "simple" ingredient, already delicious on its own, is elevated by your creativity and skill into a masterpiece. Also, it is fascinating to me how we see vanilla as a synonym for common, while in reality it is one of the most exotic and expensive spices in the world, and one of the most complex and universally loved flavors. Thanks for the interview, and thank you so much for sharing your voice and music with us. Of all the many flavors of Bass I enjoy, yours is easily my favorite.

doug muchow

That was a very good interview! Very good questions and also very informative.I Thank both of you guys for that!!

Katherine Linkous

Vanilla boring? Never. It is America's favorite ice cream. The pods come from the equatorial longitude so that makes it exotic. To put it in musical terms it is one note that lends itself open to other flavors and blends beautifully to make a many noted chorus. And if done correctly, makes the most harmonious creation. It can be easily detected without drowning out the other components. Boring? I say no way! The podcast was amazing! I would love to see you collaborate with the bass gang, and with Peter. I've seen their videos and they also have their own brand of dumb. 😄😄😄

Leisha Slaughter

It was a wonderful interview. I had a blast listening to you both talk about music and bass goodness. You both were entertaining.

Maryse B

Hello! Super good intervew. Thank you for sharing it on your page Geoff! one more hour to add to my playlist! haha!

Mikki Fullerton

I suppose it comes from cheap vanilla substitutes being used everywhere so that vanilla is the most common flavor of things like ice cream and cake. In that way, vanilla is considered the most common flavor, even though true vanilla beans are still far more expensive (and delicious!)

Ashley Evers

You keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means. That being said, you are positively my favorite flavor of bass (or any other vocal flavor for that matter). If you are boring, then boring is absolutely delicious.

Tracie Schlaak

It was such a great interview. Peter was geeking out At meeting you!😊

Brontesaurus Rex

It's funny to me that you think your speaking voice isn't that low. I'm about to go into year ten of teaching, and if one dad ever walked into parent conferences talking that low I'd have to "omg don't double take" through the whole thing lol

Suzy Bailey

That was a wonderfully entertaining interview! 'Boring'? Only in the sense that your gorgeous voice bore into my soul upon first hearing it 2½ yrs ago and as for you saying your flavour of bass would be vanilla, why not, it's the best loved flavour in the world! 👍💜🇬🇧

Sarah Borzelli

What an interesting interview where I learned some new stuff! Thank you so much for sharing! 'Something boring like vanilla' 😂 You're just the funniest! I think your voice is the most flavorful I ever tasted/heard! Ah and compliments for your natural way of entertaining, it's always pleasant and impressive to me hearing you talk!

Veronica Thunander

Of course I’m already subscribed to Peter’s channel, I love watching his analyses of your and VoicePlay’s music!! I’m looking forward to listening to this chat, thanks for sharing it here as well!

Hunter

Me too. Shh.

Lisa Lyons

He's one of those I'd love to hear you do a collab with!

Jeanette Pencz

This was a funny interesting Interview. I really enjoyed it . 😄 Thank you so much for this wonderfully entertaining conversation.

Cordelia Palmer

So much fun to listen to. You are both so talented! Glad someone called you out on that bass/baritone classification thing.

SunnyOutlook

This was such a good interview. The time flew. When Peter was wrapping it up, I was thinking that it just got started. Really fun to watch.

Tine

Oooh I love your talk about the vanilla being seen as common, to make that comparison to Geoff's music.

Sandy Mrotek

This was a fantastic interview. I loved every minute of it and Peter is also very interesting. It was so clear and the information was excellent. Thank you so much for this

Julie Gallagher

I really enjoyed this interview. Thanks for doing it! Peter is great, too.

Erma Payne

What an incredible interview! I so enjoyed this interaction between two very talented entertainers. Thank you so much for sharing!

Ilona Dever

I enjoyed the interview very, very much! Peter was funny for a couple of week trying to hint that you were coming on without saying it and failing miserably. We all knew and were waiting with bated breath. I'm so glad you managed to carve out the time for that!

Christine Stromberg

Yes I've watched Peter Barber's interview with you and it's very entertaining. From both of you. :)
