We had to read this in 9th grade, and the English teacher made a huge point out of the fact that when it was asked on the exam, the name of the author was "Washington Irving" and NOT "Irving Washington", and anyone putting down the latter name would have the answer marked as incorrect. So, I and a group of friends are quizzing each other before the test, and we asked one girl: Who wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow? And her reply came swiftly: "Irving Berlin."
