Boo!

In my constant pursuit of "WHAT THE HECK DO PEOPLE WANT FROM ME IN SHORT FORMATS?" I present to you... um... this. It is me at a piano trying to look like a legit musician. I'm pretty sure I came close to pulling it off, but we'll see what the rest of the world thinks. Here's to hoping no one wants to light my hair on fire! BTW you'll never guess who my camera person was on this.

Eileen Parkman

What a delightful surprise! Thank you!

Cynthia Ross

Too high up for William (unless he was standing on something) so I’m going to guess Kathy. And we need the long form of this one!!!🥰

Pokemasterflex

The things I'd do for a full cover of this 🙌🔥

Merryl Short

Pulled it off, that was awesome!

Huldra Draco

my guess is Kathy as the camera person!

Aksana

You put a spell on all of us🥰

Melanie Hobbs

Wow! That was terrific! Thank you for this short!!

DnD Addict

STUNNING!!!! Geoff you spoil us

Jordi S

You singing while playing the piano is becoming one of my favorite things. Thank you 🥰

Denaliland

I'd say you pulled it off quite well. Awesome!

Huldra Draco

Wow, that was amazing, Geoff!

Tara Congo

Well I can't speak for what the general public is looking for (clearly too many of them are missing our spectacular taste), but this is absolutely fabulous. All the shivers. I loved that a whole lot, Geoff! P.S. Your camera person needs a raise. Pro skillz 😁

Lacy McCloud

Woah. I love your blues-y take on this song. So damn creative, powerful and, once again, beautifully done. ❤

Ashley Evers

If people don’t want this, I may loose faith that there is any taste left in the world. But then again, I am completely the wrong person to ask, because so far I have wanted every single thing you have given us 🤣. I’m just over here going, “Please, sir, can I have some more?”

Mary Benno

Is there any song you cannot make incredible-er? Thank you for the treat! I vote William for cameraperson!

C

I almost never get chills listening to music, but this did it.

Zena Darling

You put a spell on all of us with that voice, every time!

Celia

Wow! Just wow!

Colleen levey

Oh please make a full length video of this one

Maryse B

oK just WOW! This song is mine now. That’s it... Voilà Bravo.

Katherine Powell

When I tell you I had stank face through this entire thing..... That jazz piano....perfection. The energy that is running through my body right because of this is intense. And you made me tear up. Just how??? Okay, maybe it's because I haven't eaten in about 9 hours and even though my food is in front of me now, I am putting off eating to watch these shorts first....but you at the piano....you're just unstoppable. Your talent and your charisma are just palpable, Geoff.

Randiskye

This is, for lack of a more appropriate term, sexy. I'm not trying to be pervy, it is well done in all respects. This song never comes off that way to my ear in any prior renditions I've heard. But this one: the delivery, the timing, the deep purr, it's just sexy. I trust this will go public so I can put it on my Spotify playlists? Well done, Geoff and camerawoman Kathy?

Erma Payne

Absolutely spot on! You never disappoint. Thank you, Geoff, for being you!

R. W. Hansen

That was incredible! I hope we get the audio downoad. This was a great suprise :D

Shirley B Karr

William was the camera person? Gotta train 'em while they're young. You put a spell on me two years ago this month when I first watched Monster Mash. Been happily spellbound since.

doug muchow

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe what I just heard! You have an “OLD SOUL”.

Grace Files

Wow that was incredible, I have never heard of a version of this song like this but I love it so much. And don't worry, you look like a very legit musician❤️ My guess is that the camera person is Kathy!

Sue Armstrong

Ooooh, bluesy! And gorgeous! Two thumbs up for this format.

Mikki Fullerton

Look. I gotta level with you. I just returned home from watching a professional pianist playing Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 about 10 feet in front of me with a full orchestra behind her. It was sublime. So I followed that experience by immediately playing your two new shorts. They are such a very different animal from my earlier experience, no comparison right? And yet, they are ALSO sublime. These are my favorite shorts you've ever done. I think I like them for some of the same reasons Till Then is my favorite full piece you've done so far. You just look like you belong there behind a piano, like it's home for you. And the overall sound delivery style/mix you've chosen seems perfect both for your voice and the listening exerperience. I couldn't figure out what to ask for as short format for you either, but now I know... THIS IS IT. I hope there are many more of this style yet to come, and I'm so pleased I'd happily pay full price for them individually. Oh, and for what one person's opinion is worth, I like the color look better. The black and white makes it feel like I'm watching on an old tv set from across the country giving a bit of nostalgic feel, but the color makes it feel warmer and more intimate, as if I were watching it live. Thanks, as always, for the music!

Dorothy Rosenberg

Confession time: I’m old enough to have loved Leonard Cohen’s poetry before discovering his music. Rich, deep, authentic voices resound. The intimacy of simply your song with only piano accompaniment (and Kathy’s camerawork) speaks directly to listeners. Thank you.

C

Also, I love the contemplative lean back you use to end both of these shorts. Makes the endings feel more satisfying so that my first instinct is, "That was an excellent song," rather than, "Too short; want more."

Melanie Jessup

Really, really enjoyed this :) Thanks for giving this to us!

Jacky Friedman

Omg I love it. You need to do a full version of this. It's priceless. Kathy on camera

Jacky Friedman

Agree 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯%

Carol Franklin

Best version I’ve heard even in short format. You & the piano are always a treat. I think we (& a lot of reactors) know you’re definitely a legit musician!

Diane Holland

I have goosebumps all over. Your tone and talent are so inspiring.

James Yang

I'm sorry what kind of magic is this!? This is just so good!! Love it!!

Cécile Roussey

Wow! I loved it!! I’ll look at you again ^^ Maybe it was your son, William, who filmed you... ^^" I don't know... And besides, you’re too beautiful

Levonne Price

Gorgeous.........Love the lighting...........and the seriousness.......nice :)

Tine

Wooooow! We are getting Geoff the lounge singer. How absolutely wonderful. I really like this, sounds very.. enticing! Definitely hoping this pleases the crowd as it sure does for me and I'd love to see more of this😍👏💚 For a song like this, I am sure it wouldn't hurt to give a little eye contact with the camera from time to time. I think that could be effective, along with that camera tracking effect seemingly used! Also regarding your camera crew.. Kathy maybe. I am convinced you married superwoman, she can do everything you throw at her😉

Tema Krempley

I had no idea I needed I Put A Spell On You sung that way… 😍

Sarah Borzelli

This is beyond marvellous - you keep surprising me! Wow! You ARE a legit musician and I sure enjoy this format - I so hope the rest of the world will as well. I'm with Tine about the eye contact and about Kathy as your camera superwoman.

Sarah Borzelli

that's the understatement of the year hehe

Anja Eder

Well, that's what I call a morning surprise!!!! The best alarm clock of all time that can “ring” forever😉...that was so nice!!! Close your eyes, lie down again and let it sprinkle....🤗

Angelika Bock

Wow, wow, wow...What a treat to eake up to on a sunday mirning in goggy Germany! You nailed it!

Filiz E

This is a great format for a short!! I love it so much! I always love seeing you behind a piano.. You definitely ARE a legit musician!! This sounds amazing, and looks amazing!!

Karin Wolf

After multiple watching... more important question: who put that witch-ish green on you!?!? 🤣

Leonie Frenkert-Ghazi

Jay Hawkins song from 1956 has been sung endless times, but your version makes my heart soar! Geoff, you make EVERY song a feast for the ears! Continue in this way! Thanks so much!

Jeanette Pencz

You definitely put a spell on me. Oh my gosh. I am mesmerized 😍 We need a full version of this - please.

Sofia Guerra

The spell works for years by now... Amazing... P.S. was ist William?

Riley

Pretty freaking awesome!

Bart Huhn

So true, you put a spell on me. Thank you very much!

Deborah Krach

You definitely put a spell on me.

SunnyOutlook

You definitely have a lot of people spellbound. Love it!

Bonnie Lawrence

Your voice is amazing. Listen every day to start my day❤️

Ann Durham

Jack's Lament, Sleepy Hollow, and now these in just the last two weeks!! You are the gift that keeps on giving.

Sandra JB

I love this one! Would like to hear a longer version if there is one!

Debs Badger

By the way, Geoff, the answer to your question "WHAT THE HECK DO PEOPLE WANT FROM ME IN SHORT FORMATS?" is *nothing*. 🤣🤣🤣They perpetually want whatever you do as a short in a full length.

Oliwier Dziki

Yeah you for sure put a spell on us 😂 Love it!

Casi Pohlman

Have you never heard of chaos theory? There is no predicting what people want. Unless you want to go big and say "the want everything all of the time."

Agnes EvaR

That's amazing. The genre, the voice, the piano. Everything is perfect. I think your camera person was Doris.

Janet Towles

This lounge singer vibe is *everything*. Loved it in Till Then, and I love it here. More like this please!

Angie Woollard

Call me crazy but it looks like you’re *wearing* the camera, with the way it tracks your movements.

Mikki Fullerton

My other thought was drone? Instructed to stay at a certain position from his body?

Lynda Rood

I think Kathy was holding the camera, and I love this rendition.

Sandy Parker

You have put a spell on me and all I hear is you. Thanks for you great talent (and humility).

Frances Smith

You discovered the blues with these 2 shorts. Wow!

Amanda Yarbro

William? Did you sing this to Kathy to Put a Spell on her?? It was beautiful! You got this bass loving lady's attention! ;)

Marna Brown

Oh yeah, you pulled off Big-time! Good heavens, man. I can't believe the damn piano didn't catch on fire. I had to open my door for a few minutes to cool my Itty-bitty apartment off. Gracious!
