MinnMax's full crew of Ben Hanson, Haley MacLean, Janet Garcia, Kelsey Lewin, Jacob Geller, Kyle Hilliard, Leo Vader, Jeff Marchiafava, and Sarah Podzorski kick off our Game of the Year debate that we call The Two Tens... in honor of the two Ns in MinnMax and Minnesota. We build up a list of our favorite games this year and then boil it down to the Top 20 entries. Sorry, that was a typo. We mean to call it The Two Tens. What will make the cut? Dragon's Dogma 2? Pacific Drive? Balatro? Kunitsi-Gami: Path of the Goddess? Tune in to find out! The final debate airs next week, but you can watch it all right now (including the "Pissy Zone" post-show) by supporting MinnMax at the $10 Backstage Pass tier. All of the links are in the #backstage-pass channel in the Discord.

Happy Holidays!!

This is all I wanted for Christmas 🥹 Happy holidays to the MinnMax team - thank you all for the stellar content this year. No one is doing it like MinnMax.

About to start this one and looking forward to it, but I just have to get this off my chest first: hearing Janet say the phrase "rare Kyle L" on the Awards episode last week (at around 1:33:17) made me ugly-laugh out loud. Ok thanks, diving in now.

It’s a shame Ben’s the only one on the council in support of FFVII Rebirth. It has stiff competition this year, sure, but I think too many people focus on the minor frustrating parts of the game and somehow completely ignore the gorgeous visuals, stellar soundtrack, lovable cast of characters, and frankly one-of-a-kind insanely good combat system. I just don’t know how Yakuza gets so much praise while Rebirth gets treated like it’s only in the conversation for Ben’s sake. But ah well. What can you do?

I know it had so much sociopolitical garbage around its release, but I’m really enjoying Veilguard. Definitely more than most of the Indy games I’ve spent 15-20 minutes with this year, and enough that it would be a top 10 game for me this year

Space Marine 2 not even a shout out? The betrayal! The pain! Going off sheer hours played that's definitely my goty and I didn't even like Warhammer until this year when this game got me interested. Now I'm going through and scooping up any 40k games that go on discout on stream, I want to try them all! SM2 opened an entire world to me which maybe doesn't make it a contender for best made game but it does make it a close to the heart favorite of my mine
