Hey everybody! We have a potentially funky podcast schedule coming up. We're planning on recording on Wednesday at 1pm Central, BUT there are strong rumors that a Nintendo Direct is dropping Thursday or Friday so we'll likely delay the recording until after we do a reaction stream for that mysterious September Nintendo Direct. So stay tuned to our Instagram, Discord, or Bluesky for updates.

Also! We're sliding back the recording of The Deepest Dive on Metal Gear Solid Delta one week. We apologize for the delay. We'll be covering everything in the game up through The Sorrow boss fight this coming Monday on Twitch and Tuesday on YouTube and bonus podcast feed. Thanks for your patience on this one. You can get caught up with the first discussion here - https://youtu.be/tosC5ar7RwI

This week for community questions on the podcast, we'll have Ben Hanson, Janet Garcia, Kyle Hilliard, Jacob Geller, and Jeff Marchiafava. It's your turn to make the show better by leaving a question, news story, BetterQuest goal, or anything else for us to read on the show as a comment below! We’ll choose our favorite and iam8bit will ship out the great prize below for the winner! We'll stop pulling questions around 8am Central on Wednesday.

On this week’s episode we’ll be talking about...

Rogue Prince of Persia

Void/Breaker

Metal Eden

Cronos: The New Dawn

Everybody at the Backstage Pass tier can watch us record the show live on Wednesday at 1pm Central, with an exclusive pre and post show. The unedited archive will be available to view after the fact. You could do us a favor by subscribing to the audio version of the podcast on iTunes or your favorite podcast app, telling a friend, leaving a review, and subscribing to our YouTube channel!

What’s the worst final boss, level, or area that was terrible capstone - a crapstone - on an otherwise enjoyable video game?

Brandon H

I have provided an “Honest Take” for each of you that I am convinced you actually believe but for one reason or another you haven’t said it out loud. So here is your opportunity to do just that! You are more than welcome to refute the take, but only after “trying it on” by reading it out loud on the show. Jacob : “Lies of P is better than Bloodborne. It just is. Nostalgia be damned! Sometimes newer is actually better.” Ben – “I’m still incredibly hurt by how FF7 Rebirth was handled in the Two Tens. It took everything in me to not replace all of you.” Leo – “I like Hitman more than James Bond for obvious reasons. When I look in the mirror, I see Hitman.” Jeff M – “I am going to nominate 17 roguelike deck builders at the Two Tens. You will cave and let multiple into the second Ten due to my persistence. There is nothing you can do to stop me.” Haley – “I am the only real video game expert on this podcast because I play EVERY game. Lawyered.” Janet – “I roll my eyes when you nerds mock sports games. Nothing feels better than scoring a goal in FIFA.” Sarah – “I snuck myself into Fields of Mistria. I am Celine. Don’t tell anyone.” Kyle – “I hate when Kyle Bosman joins the show. I AM KYLE! Don’t make me be “Kyle H” like I’m back in elementary school.” Kelsey – “Confession time! I have been labeled the RPG person on this podcast, but it’s a sham. Haley, Kyle, Ben, and Janet all had an RPG higher on their top 10 from last year than I did. (In addition to Huber, Charles, Ana, Suriel, Grant, Ronnie, Haley de Boom, Ross, etc.). AND Haley had 4 RPGs in her top 10, compared to my 2.”

Hey LAMERS 😎 What percentage is Leo responsible for the revival of the Now You See Me franchise? I'd give him a healthy 10-20%, easy. Thoughts?

Mike Lynch

When I draw or build something, there's a period after I'm done where I have to keep looking at it. To admire the positive aspects of it. Is there a version of that after you've written a piece or finished an audio edit?

SlyCut

Hello all, What's your favorite sitcom of all-time?

Travis in Fargo

What’s the sweatiest video game of all time?

resnet

Hi MinnMax! Should some games have laugh tracks like old sitcoms?

Carson Ogen

What is your 11th favorite game? The one that you love but for some reason just can't crack the top 10.

What's your least favourite food that for some reason you eat somewhat frequently?

In the spirit of the date September 21st from Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “September” being maybe the most memorable exact date of any song, what is the most memorable exact date from a video game? Challenge mode variant: the date must also include a year

What is the most famous phrase/quote from a videogame?

Bon Jon Bovi

What are some strangely inspired licensed games? Where the creators clearly had a singular vision despite it having to be tied to a larger media franchise? Some examples from me are: Digimon World on the PS1 (atmospheric nonlinear pet simulator/RPG hybrid) Yu-Gi-Oh The Duelists of the Roses on the PS2 (card game/tactics retelling of England's War of the Roses)

Jump On Everything

Have you ever given up on a game you loved because of the difficulty?

Victor Pham

What indie studio should make a new Sly Cooper since Sucker Punch won't do it?

Neal McMahon

Hey CLCs Has there ever been a season of a series that turned out to be one of your favorite seasons of all time, but maybe the show as a series not so much? For me, season 2 of Halt and Catch Fire is peek tv viewing in my opinion— probably up there in one of my favorite seasons of TV ever, but by season 4, the last season, it was not even a quarter as good. Any examples of this from the crew?

Josh64

Hey all! What’s a good D-pad? I feel like anytime I hear someone talk about the D-pad for whatever controller, it’s always the worst to ever exist, so I don’t know what to believe, they all seem fine to me with the exception of the switch joy-con buttons, those things can go suck a butt.

Badmonsterman

Hey yall, with more and more video games being adapted into movies or tv shows, which franchise or game are yall still yearning to see hit the screens in that way? Me personally I would like to see Jack and Daxter or look outside adapted. Thank you and I hope yall have been having a great and busy month.

Katelin

Are any of you currently reading a book? If so what and how is it?

Neal McMahon

Hey all, What would be a bigger acquisition by Sony: Capcom, From Software, or Square Enix? Personally while I think no one can deny the hot streak that Capcom and From soft have been on, from a pure library and IP perspective, I think Square has them beat. What are your thoughts?

Quest 64, Well Known Nintendo 64 Game

Do any of the cohorts have a piece of weird retro game memorabilia that's their holy grail? Some examples are the Super Mario RPG Japan preorder only physical Frog Coin or the Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic plush with SOAP brand slider shoes? I collect the stupidly hard to find Densha De Go pocket watches!

Thom Blackburn

On a scale from 1-10 how important is it for you to be looking at your hands whenever you use them for something?

Nawt Poncho

Hey cohorts! I have a question and BetterQuest goal I'd like to share. I've been running a mile each weekend for over a year now with the goal of running a mile in 8'30". I just hit that goal a couple weeks ago and it feels amazing. Big moment for me! Related question: what's your working out / locking in music? I have a tekken mix that I listen to when I'm running. Thanks for all you do!

Charles Davis

What do you think is up with all the now-possible Switch 2 Ports? Where are they?!

Maestro_T

Hello Minn Max. What is the best Preorder/Special edition bonus material you have received? Personally, I love an art book

Tom Brien

Did someone ever steal one of your games? And did you ever get it back?

Boondock-Bandit

Hey y’all. What game are you excited for/want to come to Switch 2? Probably Haunted Chocalatier for me, if it even comes out this generation. Thanks!

Duderado

What skill or knowledge do you possess that would save your life or earn a living if you were isekai'd into the Middle Ages like Ash in Army of Darkness?

Kraven Morcome

Hey MinnMax, Is the song Invisible by Duran Duran the biggest gaslighting by a videogame Fandom? For those unfamiliar, this song came out in 2021 which is 6 years after the release of MGS V. Yet the song is constantly used in online edits of Big Boss and has seemingly retroactively become the official song of the game. Searching the song on YouTube provides a video titled "Invisible (Duran Duran) MGS V: The Phantom Pain (Original Soundtrack)" as the top result. Duran Duran even shared one of these edits and thanked them for understanding the meaning of their song. That being said the song rocks and the edits go hard so no complaints here. Any other major gaslighting you can think of?

Chris Pelley

Do you know what Giardiniera is or how to pronounce it? The "Disney adult" content creators (it's on a menu for EPCOT) were all totally clueless, but it's a very common thing in Chicago.

KDArslan

I feel like at all times there are over a dozen games, movies, books, TV-shows etc. that I want to get around to. How do you decide/balance what type of media you engage with?

ThomperPippin

Hey MinnMax! Do any of you listen to video game music while working? I mark a lot of papers and need something without lyrics while I work, but I guess I was listening to my favourite soundtracks back in university, too. Which game OSTs have been your go-tos? For me, classic Final Fantasy tracks have always been heavily the rotation.

Craig Lawrie

Games that taught you empathy? Front Mission 3 was one of my favourite childhood games. It's a turn based tactics mech game. There was two campaigns, fighting on two sides of a war. After finishing the 1st campaign I started the 2nd and many of your team mates from the 1st appear as enemy pilots. However they are just presented as nameless NPCs in certain story missions, of course they are nameless because its a war and your on opposing sides, these are NPCs you gun down without even thinking about. Then I noticed my current team mates were NPCs I killed in the 1st campaign. I was blown away by this as I felt it was quite subtle and presented in entirely in gameplay. This was the first bit of media that really made me think "wow, every person you meet is a real person with a life" and perhaps circumstances can put you on opposite sides of a fence. Was there any games that taught the Minnmax crew similar lessons?

pork bun powered

Hi MinnMax, It's hard to avoid difficulty discourse these days. Now it's time for you to take a stand, what game do you think is tuned just a tad too hard? It could be the entire game or that one level that could've had a second balancing pass? Does it "ruin" the experience for you? What tweak would have made a huge difference?

CrabPalace

What fun activity do you not do that you want to do? And what's stopping you?

Many people consider Moby Dick to be the quintessential American novel. Y'all ever read it? If so, thoughts??

Eholmes91

I played Astro Bot last year and loved it, so I thought that maybe I liked 3D platformers more than I thought in the past. After seeking out and playing others including Donkey Kong Bananza and none clicking with me, I realized Astro Bot was an exception to my dislike of the genre. What is a game that you love despite not liking much else in that game genre?

WeGoGiant

If Carmen Sandiego were to steal something from your hometown, what would she take?

Felix davin

Hey Minnus Maximus, is there a game development budget that seems to align most with your taste in games ? ie are you more of a 700.000$ game afficionado, or maybe more of a 100millions$ ? Cheers

LivingZombie00

Greetings MinnMaxers! I have been going back and listening to the older Deepest Dives, and during the FFVII Remake Dive, there was a write in from our own Jacob Geller! It was fun to hear that Jacob has been a fan since the beginning. Somewhat related, the Deepest Dive on the DLC has my new favorite Out Of Context Ben Hanson! "Oh, you had a ribbon? Well, I had a ribbET! *maniacal laughter* SEE YOU IN HELL, INTERNET!"

Joe Kafchinski

Maybe it's just my corner of the Internet, but it seems like there are only 2 pieces of pop culture that stayed in the zeitgeist for more than a few weeks after they came out: Kpop Demon Hunters and Expedition 33 (I might listen to arguments for Sinners). Even things that were super popular like Superman and Umamusume seemed to mostly come and go. Questions: am I missing anything? And do you think Silksong will still be getting buzz a month from now?

BEEFCAKE

It's been a pretty stale year of video games for me personally, so much so that I started thinking do I even like video games anymore? And then BAM! Silk Song releases and instantly sparks that love back up. I feel like those games are usually the ones that make the favorites of all time lists. What was your longest video game lull and what was the game that stirred you out of it?

Ian Christopher

Hey MinnMax! With the growing number of single entry remakes and remasters in long running series, how do you feel about playing them if you’re planning to play the whole series? Would you play delta if you were planning to play all the metal gear games? Or Metroid Prime remastered?

j_tosavetheday

Hey MinnMax cohorts! The release of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance reminded me big time that I have a mental tick where I am always thinking: “how SEGA is this game?” I’ve held this thought on a recurring basis since Sega exited the hardware side of the business. The thought doesn’t really shift my opinion on any games since it started… unless they happen to feel very “SEGA,” in which case it acts as an enhancer! Do you all have odd mental quirks that come up like this? Or am I just still traumatized by the loss of SEGA’s past stature in the industry..?

Limp Bizquick

Hey Minnmax! How much would you have to be paid to eat 1 live ant?

Juniper Cain

Hi all, I really don’t gel with your basic tower defence game, but I do find myself enjoying Orcs Must Die and Sanctum as series, which are both “tower defence but it’s in third person and you yourself can shoot enemies during waves.” Are there any gaming genres you don’t usually enjoy or click with at all, yet you often do when there’s a twist on the core formula? What does that twist alter that makes it appeal to you?

Joey Lippert

I know Haley isn't on this week, so this will receive no 👍🏻, but are there any games that feature the word "phallus"? Food for thought!

PhillyYeetSteak

Hey Minnmax, Can you settle a debate for us? Do you think it is possible that Dinsey has made more money with the character of Stitch than they have with Mickey Mouse? And could it be time that disney embraces a new mascot?

Bob Buel

Howdy ‘horts! What is your go-to avatar/profile picture and how do it become your go-to?

Actual jeff bezos

Hi Ben & co.! Not a question, but I just wanted to drop some gratitude. Thanks for building a really fun and helpful community of gamers. I just started Silksong and I am an extremely casual gamer that is easily discouraged when I die in a game. Something about the trailer, the hype, and folks here talking about it made me try it out. I'm having a lot of fun with it and I'm not wary of asking for help in the Discord. So many other pockets of the internet haven't been kind to newcomers trying the game with 0 hard game experience, but I'm thankful to have the MinnMax community to lean on for questions/tips. Keep up the great work!! Oh, and someone please nominate Sherma or Shakra's songs as Best Thing at the end of the year!!

Tess

Hey MinnMax! Here's a game I like to call Roy. I'm going to give you short descriptions of two characters with the same name, and you're going to tell me what their name is! (Example if needed: The answer to "Sky Land Boss and Our Boy" would be Roy) 1. Pacifist Machine and Philosopher Otter 2. Shining Finger and Former Tojo Clan Chairman 3. Jellyfish Pirate and Emerald Rival 4. God of Light and Defense Attorney 5. Frost Archer and Leader of the Deadlock Gang Answers: 1. Pascal from NieR: Automata and Animal Crossing 2. Kiryu from Steins;Gate and Like a Dragon 3. May from Guilty Gear and Pokémon 4. Apollo from Hades and Ace Attorney 5. Ashe from League of Legends and Overwatch

HaulingGas

Greetings fine folks, Is there a kind of videogame that could be likened to "fine dining"? That would be an experience equivalent to having fine wine and a tasteful but not filling dish, followed by a slightly disappointing dessert.

Orange Wedge

Hey gang! I saw a tweet from the developer of Go Mecha Ball that they'd likely enjoy Hollow Knight Silksong 30% more if it were 10% easier. It got me thinking, what's a game you think you would have enjoyed more if it were just a little easier, or just a little harder?

Dylan Frye

I had a blast in Silksong over the weekend but work has me really worn down and the game is simply asking for more focus than I can offer today. When you're completely burnt out, how do you best use your time to recover?

CptCobblePot

Hi Minnmax, What is your favorite mouth dropping moment in gaming, movies or shows? Love the scene in the Departed where Delahunt calls Costigan (Leo DiCaprios character) over during his dying breathe and says "When I called you, I made a mistake. I gave you the wrong address, but you still showed up at the right one".

Travis in Fargo

What fable, fairy tale, or morality story do you ponder the most, or has most impacted your soul?

Derek Amundson

What is your biggest gaming mistake? As a teen I bought Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey for $97 at Kmart due to a perfect storm of both having money, and finally being in a store that sold games. (Woods of Northern Minnesota were not a mecha for gaming) I spent every dime I had on it and a knockoff controller. Only to find myself back there a few weeks later and Mario Kart 64 had come out!

OhMyBlob

Do you ever name inanimate objects in your house? We have an electric fan which we named ‘Faniel’ but now he’s 10 years old and pretty broken but it’s made it very hard to throw him away. Am I crazy?

dietcoke

With Rogue Prince of Persia being in this week's episode what do the cohorts think about the art style change they made after early access launch? And do you think early access can sometimes water down some of the initial vision for a game as developers attempt to attract/appease their audience?

Vilis

Is Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 charging $30 extra for 2 playable bloodlines in the game the most egregious pay-gating of content ever? For context, it would have been like if Baldur's Gate 3 had locked away Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock, Tieflings, Drow, and... I dunno, Dragonborn behind a pay wall of $30. I'm a big VTM fan but that had me scratching my head.

Reed

Which game moment will you never forget? Also, September could be Trauma Awareness Month (which is May) instead of World Alzheimer’s Month.

Fancygraham

If MinMax was a nine piece band, what parts and/or instruments would each of you cover? More importantly, when you are doing your cover shoot for some cool hipster magazine, would any of you smile?

Travis in Fargo

Aside from obvious examples like Scott Pilgrim and Hundreds of Beavers, do you think video games have influenced the structure, language, and visuals of movies and tv shows?

Pablo Castillo

Hello Jeffm, Jeffm, Jeffm, Jeffm, and Girl-Jeffm,My wife usually listens to the Minnmax show and Minnmax content passively in the background while Im actively listening to a particular show, episode, or piece of content. When she has a question or comment about any cohort, she'll refer to them as "Jeffm." I've attempted to correct her and give her the correct name of the speaker, but she doesn't seem interested and defaults back to "Jeffm" for the entire cast. Just wanted you all to know and was wondering how that makes you all feel?

Sleeksaber

Hi gang! If you could travel anywhere in the world with a portable gaming bubble that protects you from all conditions, where would you go, and what game would you play to feel fully immersed?

Jacob Mazanowski

NFL season just started got me thinking, what’s your favorite opening week? (Does not have to be sports related)

FinalSin

Hey all, Being that most of you worked for a magazine, who's the fastest at typing??

kajmo

Hey crew, here's an in-the-weeds question for you: last week I upped my Patreon support and got a code for Spilled!. When I looked up Spilled I noticed it cost about as much as upping my pledge. So my question is: am I doing more good for the games industry by supporting a lovely indie outlet like Minnmax with a bit of extra money rather than spending the same money to buy a small indie game? How much support does the developers of Spilled! get by me indirectly getting a code for their game instead of me buying it directly? Your inherent bias in this question is noted! Stay cool, kajmo

Erin T.

If MinnMax had a Cohort skill tree, what would be in it? Would there be unique skills depending on your Cohort class? What kind of builds are y’all running??

SlickJames

Hello Minnmax, what’s the best bargain bin game you played. I recently got Star Wars Outlaws on a sale and was blown away by how good the game is.

Seth Filbin

I know I'm stealing this from Fire Escape, but I can't resist: If you were suddenly thrust back in time to the Medieval era, with NOTHING to your name, what skill or trick could you do to convince people of that time not to murder you? Remember, you have nothing. You must go off of your knowledge alone. The discussion on Fire Escape was incredible so I'm anxious to hear from the Cohorts. Thanks!

Eli

Hey min max last week Leo mentioned going to see Pup the band which is cool because I’m seeing them next week! Anyways what music have yall been listening to recently?

Luis

The Prince of Persia series has always been about precision platforming. How does reimagining it as a roguelite with procedurally generated design change the way the Prince might play or feel as a character?

Aging_Poorly

I’m loving Silksong but, unlike hollow knight, which I recommend to just about everyone who loves action/adventure games, I don’t think I can recommend Silksong to many people due to its difficulty. Do you have a game that you love that you struggle to recommend to others, for whatever reason?

Cath

In the podcast The bestie, Justin McElroy was pondering if MGS3 Remake was right to talk about accessing old game and the importance of it. Cause if they were genuinely believing in the conservation effort, they wouldn’t ask for 70$ usd, so they are kind of fate keeping the conservation effort. I’d like to hear your talk on that

TenseREDMEN

Will you talk about more video game soundtracks?

Hugo Sinclair

Hey crew, last week I was listening to the audio version of the podcast and when Haley used the phrase minmax Ben made a slurping sound so unpleasant that I dare not go near the video version to see how that manifested visually. What do you guys think are the most horrifying and unpleasant sounds?

Seneca Kier

Hey gang, that Cronos character helmet sure is crazy. Besides that, what character do you think is the most genitalia evoking without it being “their whole deal”?

Azza G

Hey crew, what spice have you not figured out yet? for me it's tarragon.. what the fuck is that shit? Thanks!

Nemesis

Hey Maxxers, in light of YouTube’s age restricted drama - what would an M rated version of the podcast look like? Or an M rated New Show +?

TekWriter

In the last decade or so, the trend for video games based on new movies has seemingly switched, or least leveled off, to movies now being made based on successful video game franchises. Do you agree and are there any recent-ish movies you would like to see made into video games?

Timothy Law

Hey MinnMax, how do you all decide if you are going to play a game in early access or wait until the full release? I personally have been putting off great games (Fields of Mistria, Hades 2) because I want to play the 1.0 versions. I know I’m less likely to do so if I sink into the Early Access.

demo_sphere

G'day MimmMax With all the rumours of a PlayStation 6, it's got me thinking that there's a chance I'll actually witness the PlayStation 9 release within my lifetime. Well....... fun fact, they already revealed the PlayStation 9, back in 1999 ! Source (real ad): https://youtu.be/iwhPkBHLdqE Release date slated for 2078. The PS9 is a palm sized crystalized sphere that you crack open, which releases electronic spores that you then inhale. The spores then to connect directly to your brain. No need for monitors, headsets, or even controllers. Experience total gaming bliss directly into the brain. Features of the PlayStation 9 include: - Improved Retinal Scanning - Holographic Movie Surround Vision - Telepathic Personal Music - Mind Control System So, will you be buying the PlayStation 9? Will you allow the electronic spores into your brain? And what games would you like to see released on it? :)

Grizzled Gaming

Hey, gang! What's the funniest miscommunication you've ever had?

mantaguy

Hey MinnMaxers. In the run-up to its release, the pre-release footage of the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws got flak from the media for struggling to stay in the mid-20 FPS range. While this reaction was certainly justified, the final product we got last week runs at a solid 30 FPS, with some visual settings even exceeding the Series S version, and no one outside of Digital Foundry and the various Nintendo outlets bothered to offer their mea culpas. This got me a bit concerned that major games media would rather maintain a narrative of paranoia around the Switch 2's capabilities in the name of SEO than give their readers an accurate assessment of how any given game runs on the system and if it's worth their time and money. Your thoughts on this?

Michael Dorle

Howdy ‘horts! Today I heard my sink make a cooing noise and I could have sworn it sounded like a bird whenever the water flowed. What is the weirdest animate sounding noise you have heard come from an inanimate object?

Oliver Watts

Hi everyone, with the release of Silksong there has been lots of discussion about difficulty in games. With people venting their frustrations about the game “wasting their time”, while other just urge them to “git gud’. Conversley also hear a lot of podcasts about video games to just turn down the difficulty so people can get through a game to talk about it? How do you personally feel about game difficulty and how it can waste people time? Or is a challenging game the most rewarding experience?

SwooshxBear

Hey cohorts! Are there any video game songs that you know, but just can't quite place? Perhaps a song from your childhood that is burned in your head? Try humming them and see if we can help you finally name them!

Lanthian

Trying to think of a new question this week, and was drawing a blank. So what are some questions you get asked over and over? And could you rapid fire through a few?

Chris Fantry

Hi MinnMaximos. What is your favorite way to greet someone? What is your favorite way to be greeted?

Chris Fantry

Hey MinnMaxers. Can you name a game that you think no one else on the podcast with you has ever heard of from your childhood? 2 that came to mind are Atomic Punk and Wario Blast!

Chris Fantry

Hello cohorts. What advertisement mascot themed video games did you like before the BK themed ones did you like, if any? Do you think Sneak King and the other BK games will ever be remastered or get a Digital Eclipse collection?

Casey Mattos

I recently played the 3rd-person action-adventure spinoff of the Tekken universe Death By Degrees (a game that—to use the Blank Check parlance—seems like it "doesn't exist") and absolutely loved it! Do y'all have a favorite game that doesn't exist? (Not literally, like a canceled game or something, but one that is real that you're confident nobody/barely anybody has ever heard of.)

Seth Negron

Hi all! With the release of silksong I was wondering what about hollow knight makes it so popular with a mainstream audience? Metroid and Castlevania for example have never had close to the sales success despite having a longer legacy and less difficult gameplay. Is it the souls elements? Being part of a new franchise? Or is being a little bug dude simply superior to being a space bounty hunter or vampire? Thanks!

ayr

What do you as a critic look for in a successful game soundtrack beyond "it's good"? A lot of reviews are very binary, but what makes an OST actually stand out to you while you're playing?

Jared Piers

What percentage of people from the city that you live in do you think you have seen with your eyes? Not that you could recognize, just have seen at some point.

Jesse Eberenz

What’s a game you keep installed because you find yourself constantly going back to it?

LlorchDurden

crew! The Lost Games NS+ option *legally* lost this week but I think we can wrap it up in a couple of minutes. In terms of biggest game, lost but still remembered, vanishing out of thin air... wasn't it 1313 all along?

McGreevy

What's the best thing in your freezer?

quilatoo

Hey MinnMaxers, My partner and I have recently got into Gin Rummy, a really cool new card game all the kids are in to. Reading on its history, it stopped being a competitive gambling game because the late poker champion Stu Ungar was simply unbeatable at it. What one skill, activity, or trait of yours do you think you could ruin for everyone else if it became a proper competitive thing? Loving the pods! Thanks, Kris

Favourite traditional card game? Standard 52 card deck, nothing fancy

Hey guys, the Silksong hype got me thinking - what is the best bug IRL?

Is there a cooler concept for a title screen than a sword sticking in the ground?

Minnmax! Everyone do your best vocal impression of the PS2 startup sound

Nathan Ryer

Hey MinnMax! What food do you dislike so much that you would still refuse to eat it while starving on a deserted island?

Tyler Carver

I'm all for playing games the way you wanna play them, but am I crazy for being annoyed as all hell at my buddy who's already looking up secrets in Silk Song, or how to cheese the bosses? When you find out people play games a certain way does it grind your gears at all? I just feel like it takes away from the exploration and adventure that the game was designed for! Also he said he's trying to rush through it before Borderlands 4!.... take your time enjoy yourself man!

Matthew Hammer

My wife recently saw MinnMaxx as I was watching and noted that Jacob Geller's beard was so good it looked fake. It truly is a righteous beard. ; What is a compliment you have heard where you wanted the person to be able to give it directly; or which you wish you had the heart/confidence to deliver it?

Steve Bellegarde

Hey MinnMax! What has been your favorite deepest dive so far? Also are there any you wished you had been on?

Duderado

Should dogs be allowed in restaurants?

Machine Gun Keeley

Good afternoon Minnmax, Unofficial Minnmax historian here. Its time to quickly revisit a moment in Minnmax history. This gem from the March 21, 2021 episode in regards to the recently announced Borderlands movie: "There is a VERY good chance that movie will be a gigantic blockbuster. Imagine the success of a Jumanji movie except the main creative voice behind the movie was this wild card..." - Ben Hanson Thank you for revisiting this important moment in history.

Karl

hello there! In the spirit of 'getting better', how do you balance health & fitness while working in the video games industry? As in other desk jobs, I imagine your work involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer and it seems long days and sleepless nights spent playing through new gaming experiences. How do you ensure you are looking after your health, well-being and "work/life balance" in a role like this? What works the best for you and what is the most difficult part to overcome? Love y'all! <3

Hello MaxMinners What video character would you date, with the caveat that you have to face off their main antagonist to date them Scott pilgrim style?

naoh.yup

If this is too political/serious for a podcast about videogames I understand, but how do you all motivate yourselves to do work when the political scene (in the U.S.) is so fraught? I personally go into work and often sit there like the "This is fine" dog -- I'm struggling. Thanks for your fun podcast, and hope you guys are holding up okay.
