What color is the best to put in a video game title?

Travis in Fargo

Has a sequel ever strayed from the tried and true formula of its predecessor(s), and even if you respect the choice, you wish it hadn’t?

Geebeesee

If you were a wereanimal, which animal would you be? Would it improve your gaming abilities?

Jason Wojnar

I loved hearing Jeff M’s conviction and fully believed when he said Baby Steps is the greatest game he has ever played. Not calling him an old man, but it had me thinking of if I have already played my favorite game of all time? Do you think you have, or do you believe that an indescribably joyful and profound gaming experience is still waiting for you somewhere down the line

Travis in Fargo

If Bullet Bill wasn’t a Mario villain, what do you think he’d do for a living?

Manuel T

Do you make new year resolutions? If you do, is there one that stands out for you this year?

Fancygraham

Can we address the giant Beyblade elephant in the room? Even as a kid I thought it was a fad, but my 14 year old and 6 year old daughters are super into it. Can you explain why Beyblade endures? And can you think of any other “fads” that should have died out, yet still live on?

J.Vaso

What's the worst take to be given on one of Minnmax's shows? And what's the best?

Trevor Smith

What was your favorite non 2025 game you played in 2025?

Badmonsterman

What is the best humble bundle month yall have personally seen?

Cath

Got E33 for Christmas, beat it, cried than consumed the Deepest Dive and GOTY debate about it right after. What video game you played and were happy to /finally/ join the discussion and hype ?

ennui_enthusiast

What genre are you most willing to try out despite bouncing off most of the titles you try in said genre?

Salar

How does everyone deal with spoilers during the GOTY debates for games they still want to see till the end but just couldn’t find the time? Like the audience gets to avoid spoilers when yall put the spoiler hats on but the cohorts who are part of the debate can’t. Does anyone deafen their audio lol? Btw bought Baby Steps just cos JeffM convinced me.

Fancygraham

This isn’t a MinnMax issue exclusively, but I feel like I hear at least a few times at the end of the year the line “that came out this year!?”. I know you’re busy. And I have no idea what it’s like working in games media. But there has to be a better way to remember the games that came out in February? Right!?

PandaHandz

Question: Will gen AI make games less enjoyable? You can argue Minecraft is the one of the biggest gen AI games since each world is generated from a seed... Scratch the above. Let's pretend AI comes to fruition and a game dev says they have it in their game as NPCs. Would you be conflicted in how you interact with them? Do you still kill them?

Kevin Kuper

I work at a homeless shelter for kids and when they go to bed, I have a decent chunk of down time. I have considered bring my steamdeck or switch in to help kill the time but think it could be viewed as unprofessional. However I see other staff playing games on their phone and feel frustrated that this is considered normal but a handheld console would be perceived differently. Would love the crews thoughts.

Tarje Hellebust Jr.

Any chance for another video on parenting? After becoming a father myself I really enjoyed and related to a lot from the first one with JeffM. Thanks so much for all the great content! Love having a podcast to listen to while doing cool dad stuff 😊

Aging_Poorly

Since it's too difficult, apparently, to debate during the MinnMax Awards, who are your *personal* Minn and Max characters of 2025 and why?

Catpurrnicus

What if after the GOTY list is finalized, everyone gets one poisoned dart to kill a game? The official list stays, but the aftermath turns into pure chaos—revenge, betrayal, and glorious back-stabbing.

Christopher Foster

I'm like many of the MinnMax crew when I say I just know Baby Steps isn't for me. However, JeffM's impassioned speech about what it meant to him nearly swayed me into giving it a shot. Before I plunge into the abyss that is this game I don't think will bring me joy, are there any other games the crew has ever played that made them feel even remotely the way JeffM feels about Baby Steps? But perhaps something more palatable to a casual gaymer, like myself. Love what y'all do! And happy new year. :)

Jump On Everything

Happy New year Minnmax cohorts! Has the title of a video game ever stopped you from playing it?

Nate Voris

Does JeffM think Baby Steps would have had the same impact on him if he played it any other time in his life?

Mike Lynch

Have you ever had a cheat code blow up in your face? I once entered a God Mode cheat into ENTER THE MATRIX before starting the fight with 50 Agent Smiths. They pinned me against a wall for nearly an hour.

Fred Dinovo

Howdy 'horts what's a game from 2025 that you played AND liked that you think you'll never play again? Just don't see it in your future. Mine is Death Stranding 2, had a fine time but I think I'm good.

Jackson Davis

Are there any plans to do a big ‘Two Tens of the 2020s’ list at the end of the decade? If so, what games so far seem like a lock for that list?

Cody A

Hey minnmax, I was listening to Amy Poehler's "a good hang" podcast. One of the guests posed this question which I will now pose to you... What's the last song you wanna hear before you die?

CrabPalace

What's your dream community question?

Mike Chase

Which cohort or recurring guest's 10/10 rating on a game would be most likely to convince you to play a game you'd otherwise ignore (i.e., a genre you otherwise wouldn't care for, poor review scores or word of mouth, etc.)?

Fachasaurus

Has a video game ever unlocked a new level of appreciation for everyday life? Only after seeing the rain physics in DriveClub did I really start to notice the rain while driving IRL. Now I find myself mesmerized by how water beads pool up on the windshield or swishes away with the wipers. Something so mundane in our day to day that you wouldn't have thought about without experiencing a version of it in a video game!

SuperThisWay

I know GTA 6 may not be the most anticipated game for MinnMax but I’m actually looking forward to the soundtrack. Rockstar just knows how to make a music compilation especially with a variety of genres. Is there anything super specific you’re looking forward to GTA 6 besides the game itself?

Sky Fellowship

This is a question, but it is also a plea to use MinnMax for the greater Gaming good. Expedition 33 the most French game ever being labelled as a JRPG by so many has finally broken me. 2026 needs to be the year we fix genre naming. Also I don't expect this to at all be read out on the show, I just hope when reading you agree and get the ball rolling. Because Janet actually started it already by decreeing Roguelikes/lites are just Rogues now. New words get invented all the time cause we realised it was taking swaths of information to convey something simple. So we made it common to just make a new word and taught people what the word was and put it in dictionaries. Gaming has hit that point. This would also help TGA as how much discourse revolves around what gets nominated in the weirdest categories, apparently Two Point games are equal to Madden games cause they're both sims I guess? Add in that everything is an RPG now or a Rogue, look at Donkey Kong, it's both and it's also a Platformer. Look how mad folks get that the term Metroidvania exists. We don't even get CastleVANIA games anymore, yet it's a genre? So MinnMax, Kinda Funny, Giant Bomb, Easy Allies, Indie Informer, Spawn On Me, I know they moved on but What's Good Games, anyone who wants to join TBH. Can the heads of these podcasts/gaming companies form a collective where we, all of us, cause the communities would have to be involved on voting for names or ideas, can we please let 2026 be the year we come together to redefine all this stuff? And as much as some nay sayers will say it won't take, it will, this is how words work, this is why now everyone both knows and doesn't know what 6-7 is. Yes the point is that no one knows what it is but we all know what it is. A silly meme. If every community starts using these new words, people will be able to look up online what they mean and it will fix this issue that's clearly getting worse. Start slow and steady take it 1 genre at a time cause not everything needs fixing, but clearly some stuff does. Thanks for taking the time to read this, apologies it was as long now as the French say, Sayōnara.

L Stockler

Hey! If you could chose a game not from 2025 that you played and loved to give a passionate, Hitman/Baby Steps style, speech, which game would it be?

Julie Miner

JeffM's Baby Steps sermon was amazing and I found it resonated a lot with my experience with fighting games - especially in terms of his mentality changing surrounding failure. Learning to pick yourself up and try again without giving in to frustration is one of the largest hills to climb in the FGC, and it sounds like Baby Steps got JeffM there. So given that... Is there any chance of seeing Guilty Gear: JeffM, JeffM Fighter 6 or Granblue JeffM Versus Rising this year?

Hayden Pike

Kia Ora from New Zealand. In regards to the Two Tens, do you think JeffM has too much sway? This year with Baby Steps and last year 2 of his games placed highly that no one else had played. Also hope Kyle H is ok. A lot of his takes seemed to be shot down and I wanted to give him a hug. Much love for what you all do. Love the cast and here's to a great 2026. From Hayden in New Zealand

WeGoGiant

Hi MinnMax. I have a better quest goal to send in some good news (something game industry related if possible) to the podcast every week in 2026. First up, ConcernedApe has signed on to be a major financial contributor to MonoGame including a $125,000 initial donation last week. MonoGame is a free and open source C# framework that game devs can use to make their own engines. It's been used in the making of Bastion, Terraria, Fez, TowerFall, Transistor, Axiom Verge, Stardew Valley, and Celeste (among others). https://bsky.app/profile/knoebel.bsky.social/post/3mba74dyags2i Also, a question. Merriam-Webster named "Slop" the word of the year for 2025. What is the MinnMax "Gaming Word of The Year" for 2025?

Douglas Bryant

Hello Miniature Maximals! Recently I've seen multiple videos bucking misconceptions about how daggers and bows are much more "strength" weapons and swords are much more about dexterity and skill in real life, and how a lot of these misconceptions arise from portrayals and mechanics in both video and tabletop games. What are some of the biggest (and most embarassing) misconceptions you've found out you've carried from gaming or other media?

SlyCut

Hello all, Do you think there will ever be a new format of physical media, or is Blu-Ray it until everything is fully digital/streaming?

Dominic Cichocki

Hello MinneousMaxximillians! I'd love to see y'all open the Game Informer calendar for 2026 and try to predict, other than GTA6, what some of the standout games will be. Especially indies and smaller games. Will MiO: Memories in Orbit and Mewgeneics be early contenders before we get sucked in by RE9 and Pragmata? Will Cairn be even bigger than Jusant? Will Elden Ring being on Switch 2 even matter once The Duskbloods hits? I wanna know what y'all think!

Machine Gun Keeley

Is watching a Let’s Play basically the audiobook version of video games? I already give partial credit to anyone who listens to all their books instead of sitting down to read. Meanwhile, i spend most of my workdays listening to a Let's play of whatever game i don't have time to play. At what point do the hypocrisy police kick down my door?

Brian W

What’s a chore you secretly love? For me it’s vacuuming. It makes those rewarding little clank sounds as stuff is getting sucked up so you feel like you are making a ton of progress for the amount of effort you are putting in.

BEEFCAKE

In your minds, what is acceptable use of "Ai" in the video games industry?

Michael Berry

If you had to give up all of your backlog games forever, but were allowed to keep just 3 of them, what 3 would you keep?

Paddy

Yoo-hoo cohorts. What would be your game of the year for 2025 which wasn't released last year?

Brandon H

Will you allow a pissy zone moment for Hades II from a longtime listener? I KNOW it’s not a normal game of the year list… it’s a measure of passion blah blah blah. I KNOW it’s not my list. It’s your list. I KNOW it’s not your guest cohort’s list.. like Charles (#1), Suriel, Dan (#1), Ronnie, Grant, Ross, Ben, Brendan, Jill, Jason, JJ, and Sgt Grumbles who all had it in their top 10. It’s your list. I KNOW it’s not your beloved Game Informer’s list, which gave the game a perfect 10 and landed #2 on their list. It’s your list. You’re right. Beating each boss 7 times each to get the real ending is WAY different than beating Hades 10 times to get the real ending in the first game. You’re right. Despite the game being better in every way than the original, aside from the ending, means it should be off list entirely. You’re right. We should take Kyle’s opinion super seriously who bounced off the game after THREE runs. Thank goodness this injustice will be remedied by the community Two Tens. In all seriousness, you all are the best! Thank you for an incredible year!

Jacob Mazanowski

I will likely never play Baby Steps, but the way Jeff M talked about it make me want to enjoy it… what’s the game (or hobby) you have the most FOMO but will never play?

Duderado

What's your favorite game that you never finished?

Bob The Builder

What was your most memorable rage quit while playing a game? Is it more likely to happen in single or multiplayer games?

Swansonge

Hi MinnMax, what are your New Years Day traditions like (if you have any)?

Phelix Diaz

If you could watch any band/musician that no longer tours for whatever reason, but after that concert you won't be able to listen to their music anymore, would you? Who would you choose?

Trevor Corbin

How do you manage your own morality when working under a corporation? I'm a software engineer at a tech company who is implementing AI technologies into our product suite (which I have a large hand in). I genuinely believe the company does a good job not implementing it "just because" and into workflows that do make things easier for our customers, but it's hard for me not to lose some sleep when the work I do is a target of so much hate from the public.

thejjuan1

Happy new year Minnmax crew. My question to all of you, is the word Slop too powerful? Someone in the comments of the two tens called Xenoblade. Teenager slop. Oh man, this put me in a blinding rage. Apparently the CEO of Microsoft also hates everyone calling anything made by AI, Slop. Which it is. Also proud of the Minnmax crew not calling Peak, Friend Slop once during the two tens discussion.

haru_malu

Since you’re talking about Octopath Traveler this episode, I’d like to know - if they made a new Octopath game where the eight playable characters were the eight Minnmax cohorts (other than yourself), whose story path are you MOST and LEAST interested in playing?

resnet

Happy New Year MinnMax! Do you have a game that you bounced off or put aside, only to return to later and ended up loving it?

Joe Kafchinski

This happened while all the video game podcasts were on their holiday break, so I just wanted to give y'all a chance to say something if you want to: Vince Zampella. Holy shit. What an absolute tragedy. What a legend.

Mitchell Mcclure

Hi MinnMax crew, it's law that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but the jury is still out for videogames. Should we or should we NOT judge a game by it's cover art and first trailer on the steam page?

kevin klesz

How many Na'vi does it take, to take down one of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminators?

Obruni

With the holiday season behind us, what holiday/special event are you most excited for next?

Daniel Bloor

Hey gang! Kelsey made that comment recently recommending more JRPG experience amongst the cohorts for perspective on their writing quality. If you each chose one to play that you haven't, no matter how old it is, what would it be?

Malcolm Holliday

Happy New Year MinnMax! My question is why does MinnMax continue to ignore the gloriousness of Digimon Story Time Stranger? And Digimon in general?

Jack Seage

Ahoy hoy, CLC's! I played a ton of Rogue Legacy 2 over the break, and found its treatment of disabilities, disorders, and distinguishing features interesting! I'm sure there's room for a more nuanced discussion, but I think the overall message was a good one - that having aphantasia, a stutter, or panic attacks might adversely affect you, but you can still be a legendary hero! On that topic, are there any such traits you'd be interested in experiencing temporarily if it were possible? Things like color-blindness, CIP (inability to feel pain), or Prosopagnosia (face blindness) all seem like they'd offer an interesting change in perspective!

OhMyBlob

Why is it an unwritten rule in modern game design that bosses do damage if you merely touch them? Sure if they’re on fire or something I get it - but it grinds my gears when I graze their elbow and lose health. Looking at you Silksong. What’s an unwritten rule in games you’d like to change?

CreamBasics

Hi there cohorts! Over the holiday break I finally read The Last Wish, the first book in The Witcher series. I've never played the games or watched the show, but I instantly fell in love. What's mindblowing is that although the books came out in the 90s and were moderately popular in Poland, sales never exceeded 6 million copies until the games gained momentum in the mid-2010s. Now sales estimates are around 30 million(!). What's a novel or book series you think could see a similar sales spike if adapted into a video game?

Mike R.

Hi Gang, for the new merchant designs, can you let Sarah design them please. I think it would be thoughtful to give her that task! Thanks all for what you do!

Michael Griffin

Hello MinnMax! What is the highest you have ever been on a video games online leaderboard?

Catpurrnicus

Can you see the Fortnite Simpsons becoming an annual thing where they introduce more and more characters each year? What is your most wanted character not released yet?

Rikimaru

Hey MinnMax, happy new year! The Two Tens discussions were fantastic and reminded me how much games can surprise us each year. This time last year we had no idea that: - Clair Obscur Expedition 33 would have the reception it did - Donkey Kong Bananza would be announced and release in the same year - Hollow Knight Silksong would release for $20 - Umamusume: Pretty Derby (just wanted to hear Ben say this) and much more What game do you think will surprise people the most this year?

Sam Worms

I’m currently fighting for my life against a nasty cold. What are your go-to remedies when you don’t feel well?

King Promethus

Game Awards Data time! I polled the MinnMax discord in the Game Awards channel for responses on both how they wanted and how they believed the awards would go. Not comprehensive by any means with 53 responses but a view into some feelings of the active community in there. Here are the full results if you want to discuss them on the podcast: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1C5TDAj_KkTrqXKsho87I2Wl7iHemEu6sRCYsb2lns9s/viewanalytics Some takeaways - 29 total categories Correct predicitions of category winners: 18 Times the game the community wanted overlapped with the correct, predicted winner: 11 Times the game the community wanted won even when they predicted it wouldn't: 2 Largest difference between winning game and wanted game: 96.2% predicted GTA 6 would win Most Anticipated, 13.7% wanted it to win. And of course Expedition 33 won the vote for every category it was nominated in for predicted winners. Have done this poll a few years in a row and plan to continue, hope for even more votes next year! Looking forward to a new year of MinnMax!

Elias Armendariz

We're halfway through the 2020's. Any chance we can have a battle of the two tens from the last 5 years? Or to make it shorter, top ten from the last 5 years?

Elias Armendariz

With Clair Obscur sweeping game awards and goty, how does it stack up against previous years?

Bon Jon Bovi

We all know where Baby Steps is on JeffM's all-time favorite games list, but where is Clair Obscur on everyone else's?

Vilis

Happy New Year, MinnMax! 2025 was the year of Indie Studios coming out big and taking the major developers and publishers to task, the AI discussion evolved beyond a binary of yes/no, and a Nintendo console releasing with mixed vibes. What do you think 2026 will be the year of?

Patrick G

Do you think 2026s goty has been announced yet?

Random Oil Man

Unlike in movies, for games the sequel is more often than not better. Which game from last year do you think would have a worse sequel and why?

Mabroon

Can you guys think of any other series besides Persona that could pull off having main stories that take 100+ hours to complete and be a total success with fans? I think almost any other series would risk serious backlash over bloat, yet most Persona players are more than happy to spend as much time as possible with these games. What other series do you think could pull this off?

sixmark

Happy new year! It’s time for “two tens: makin’ amends”: is there any game you played in 2025 that released in 2024 and would’ve been a lock for your list had you played it then? My pick is Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2, which definitely deserves more love!

Dominic Lee

What game would sell best with a HD2D rerelease?

mikewearsprada

I've been asking my friends and family this question all throughout the holiday break and have been getting fascinating answers: If your first and middle names were swapped when you were born, do you think your life would be drastically different from today? Do you think your personality would be different? Or your sense of fashion? What about your friend-circle? How much of who you are today can be tied to the way your first and middle names were given?

Frostphorus

Rather than a meeting that couldve been an email, whats a game youve that made you feel like " this could've been a YouTube video"?

Bryan Coyne

One blind spot I find in games media is the price of games (with the exception of Mario Kart World). How does the price / value factor into your reviews and does it vary based on whether you receive codes or not? In my mind, 2025 was a fantastic year for being a budget gamer. What mix of games would you buy if you had $100 from your parents from Christmas?

Alex - The Mimic's Veil

If Ben were to get his wish and abandon his main show hosting duties per bonus pod 😛, who would the cohorts choose to replace him and why?

b_wood

My family was playing Lego Party with the CPU as the 4th player. On my daughter's last turn, I convinced her to use her power up to steal a gold brick from the CPU. This put me in first place and allowed me to win the game. It also “earned” me the trophy “Honorable Victory”, which you earn when you win a game without stealing from another player. So technically I didn't steal, I just convinced my innocent daughter to do the dirty work. I feel bad about that. The thing is…I would do it again. When we play party games, I am OK with the results as long as the CPU doesn't win. If I end up getting a “dirty” trophy for it, then so be it. By any means necessary, the CPU can not win. How bad is this? What is your worst “dirty” trophy?

Nick deVries

Hey MinnMax folks, After huge recording sessions like the two tens, how much do you think about/analyze your personal performance? For example, do you wish you had said something else, or phrased something better? Is this something that happens often, or never? I find I do this after every client meeting (granted, we are discussing taxes so it's not near as fun lol), so curious if others have this. Thanks, love the show! (not in a weird way either, Ben)

Nathan Ryer

Hey MinnMax! What video game has a great manga adaptation? And what video game needs a great manga adaptation?

Jon

You are tasked with making the tallest possible tower using video game consoles, and you can only use one console per manufacturer (i.e. only one PlayStation, one Xbox, etc.). Which consoles would you use and how would you construct your tower?

K-Ham

Happy 2026! Our household is a big fan of "in/out" lists when starting a new year. Things that are "in" are things you're looking forward to, rekindled loves, or new ways of being. Things that are "out" are washed up trends, things you want to ditch, or something you won't deal with anymore. What is "in" for 2026 gaming and what is "out" for 2026 gaming?

McGreevy

Hi cohorts. Let's get pissy zoned. Where is the strangest place you have pissed?

Luis Pérez

Hiya CLCs! With a new year coming in, I'd love to know your take on the advantages and disvadvantages of doing awards before and after the year is over (Two Tens vs. GDC Awards) Would you retroactively change the Two Tens if you revisited them in March? All the best :)

Joe Dean

Welcome back, After playing Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, I was thinking if there's a single character whose design is stronger. Every permutation of Samus's classic suit looks sleek. Is there a character you believe has as many iterations of their design who you think is cooler? Also, Baby Steps for number one spot on the Two Tens.

Tokyo Game Life

Since 2024, Nintendo has released over two dozen games plus DLC expansions. None of them have made The Two Tens. What do you think is the next Nintendo franchise to appear on The Two Tens?

Brent Carroll

I’m a big fan of fantasy drafts and do one every year with my friends for movie box office rankings. It’s something fun to track all year long. Have yall thought of doing one for games or would that be cutting too close to kinda funny’s fantasy critic? I’d still love to see it!

ImABiggyBoi

Hey NERDS (with love of course) What are your gaming resolutions for this year? I'm going to try to give an honest effort to both games gifted to me this winter, ff7 rebirth and KCD2. Cheers and happy you're back!

Chris Pelley

Do you have anyone in your life that you know is really into Avatar? Like it's just something you know they love. That's weird isn't it?

Chris Pelley

I feel bad for having yucked someone's yum. Strike my Avatar question.

Felix davin

Happy New Year Minnmax. Have you noticed that Benjamin Hanson has two n in both his first and last name ? Not a lot of double n in the other cohorts, though. That's it, not much of a question.

Derek Amundson

Truly apologizing for the solicitation. I'll try hard to keep this short. My buddy coaches an "esports" club in my home town of Cook, MN. They need cash to get better gear. No delusions that this will ever make them a great team, but the club is so important to the kids. It is a very small area. Barely have internet. People there are behind on how gamers aren't just nerds in a basement. They dont understand the bonding, and how it supports writing, art, music, programming, etc...the kids don't get a lot of support. I know there are bigger fish to fry here in Minnesota(walleye joke here?). Lots of people in need. Every dollar donated here makes immediate positive change to these kids lives. Not sure what you could do besides mention it on air, but if it is appropriate please give a shout out. I wish there was a better url but I tried to make a shorter one. Regardless thanks for the many hours of entertainment. http://bit.ly/3MMF7tj In this theme, do any of you have any gaming bonding moments with friends growing up?

Luis

Rhythm Doctor sneaks its lessons into jokes, weird animations and story bits. Throughout the game, did you even notice you were learning? How do you think it gets you to learn without telling you?

CristianTheBadGamer

Happy new years minnmax team! Do you guys believe you will find your baby steps/ hitman 3 in your life ?

Jared Araniego

Happy New Year MinnMax crew! I was playing Ghost of Yōtei over the break and found myself compulsively opening the map every few steps / trots. After a while I found this to be jarring and taking away from taking in the sights and sounds of Ezo. I want to be more conscious of the things I do in 2026, less compulsively opening up instagram and more doing things with intent. So - what bad gaming habits would you like to kick this year? Love the pod and all the best for 2026 Jared

Frostphorus

With clair obscur being a bit of a come out of nowhere hit for most people last year, what do you think the odds are that your 2026 GOTY is a game you are not currently aware of? How many times has this happened to you?

Rick

Hey Minnmax! Could you pick your "Hitman Freelancer/Baby Steps" darling goty pick from the past decade?

Travis in Fargo

Is now the time to finally play Dishonored 2? If not now, when?

Travis in Fargo

What’s the most beautiful or astounding place in your state?

Travis in Fargo

Did you have any major perspective shifts in 2025?

Josh LaBaw

Why can't we just switch to a universal time across the globe. Would it bother you if you had to wake up at 21:00 instead of 6:00?

Kalle Jarvinen

What games from last year did you most wish you had the time or energy to play but didn't? Or

Michael Nickley

Hey folks! Just like clockwork each year, I currently find myself suffering from the post-holiday blues. To combat this, however, I’m tasking MinnMax with creating a new federal holiday! What/who are we celebrating, when on the calendar will it fall, and what traditions and festivities will mark the occasion?

Travis in Fargo

How are you handling this whole penny thing?

Casey Armitage

I will often hear people talk about how their favourite games “changed their life” but I tend to feel it is more like code for “I really loved it and connected with it emotionally” but with JeffM’s passion for Baby Steps I think he makes a good case for the game being “life changing”. My question is which games if do you think may have fundamentally altered the course of your life and how you interface with the world and/or people around you.

Wajora

What was your favourite thing from your holiday breaks?

Parker Aden

Question of the week? What about question of the YEAR?! Any questions from when you were on the show from last year (or even prior years) that still sticks in your mind as one you really enjoyed?

Hey MM, (‘MinnMax’ not a The Boys ref lol), Long-time first-time(?) - after following game awards, soaking up many of their surprising reveals, both big & small - curious to know what each of the cohorts would pick as there game most hyped for now? & HNY 🎉 community - From the Otherside of the world! 🐨

My BetterQuest goal for 2026 is to revisit an old passion of mine, running! It's been 5 years since I've last done a run due to busy work life, injury and not making enough time for myself (specifically my health). I’ve joined my local running club and I am really enjoying meeting new people. Do any of the cohorts have a BetterQuest goal for 2026?

Hey MinnMax! Is Resident Evil the only franchise where the original games and the remakes of them hold equal wait in the canon? Normally remakes are replacements from which new canon is built.

Howdy MinnMax and Happy New Year! Everyone in my family got sick after the holidays. I’ve personally been sick for 9 days and it sucks. I know 6 people who got the flu over holiday break, so be safe out there! What’s the longest you’ve ever been sick for or the worst sickness you ever had?

In the spirit of GETTING BETTER, what are some of your non-gaming resolutions for 2026?

If you’re playing through a series, do you prefer to go straight into the sequels or space them out over time? Personally, I tend to binge them back to back, but that often leads to burnout. On the other hand, playing the first game usually puts me in the perfect mood for the sequel—so if I wait too long, I risk losing interest altogether. How do you all handle it?

I’ve gotten deeply into Kill Knight recently. It’s a run-based twin stick shooter where you play as a kill knight. It’s frenetic and intense, and for that reason, I predominantly play it standing up. Are there any games you play standing or in another non-traditional stance or posture?
