Hey everybody! Ben Hanson and Jacob Geller are flying to Valencia, Spain soon to create a MinnMax Spotlight video about Deconstructeam and their upcoming game Virtue and a Sledgehammer (they'd greatly appreciate a Steam wishlist while you're at it). Earlier this year on The MinnMax Show we talked about how much we loved the developer's last game called Many Night A Whisper, so we're very excited about this opportunity to visit the small team and learn more about their history and the upcoming project published by Devolver Digital.

We're capping off the trip by hosting a MinnMax Community Meetup at Las Cervezas Del Mercado inside the Mercado de Colónon on Tuesday, April 14th from 6pm-9pm. If you're from Spain or anywhere near it and would like to attend, please click here and let us know if you are attending. You don't need to be a Patreon supporter to attend the meetup and you're welcome to bring some friends. We'd love to get a rough idea of how many folks to expect - https://forms.gle/JKMwci7e37ptEjg26

If you know the area well, please a comment below with any travel suggestions for Valencia, Spain! As always, thanks for making this entire independent operation possible here at MinnMax. We're planning on publishing the MinnMax Spotlight on Spain and Deconstructeam near the end of April.

Valencia is a little far, but if you do one in Warsaw, Krakow, or Kyiv I’ll be there

Benvinguts to my new hometown. I'll be more than happy to show y'all around the city if that's what y'all are looking for. Quick recommendations: Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias (some scenes of Andor were filmed there), plenty of museums but my fave is the Centro Cultural del Carmen in the old historic town, not too far from the city there are a few archeological sites that are quite impressive, my favorite is just a short 20 minutes ride by train in a town called Sagunt.

I visited Valencia last year to run the Half Marathon, really beautiful city 😁 Can't wait for the Deconstructeam content! Absolutely one of my favourite devs. Re: things to do, its usually on all the lists of things to see but the aquarium there (Oceanografic) was really great, had a lot of fun there and would recommend.

I'd love to go, but I live in the basque country, and since it's a tuesday, I don't have time to go down to Valencia and back to my town for work. I REALLY wish I could go, tho! I kinda know Jordi de Paco from Deconstructeam, and let me tell you, you are in the bests hands possible! The three of them are amazing people.

I'm about an hour flight away, but sadly there aren't any late-night return flights to Mallorca. Hopefully next time. :)

who all is going to this? my work have said I can potentially get the time off for it, but I'm debating whether or not it's crazy to fly over from Scotland for a couple days 😂

For anyone that makes it to Valencia ahead of time, if you find yourself with some free time on April 13th, there's going to be a "Mascletá" on Plaza Tetuan/Tetuan Square at 2PM local time (I recommend getting there at least 30 minutes early). To give a quick rundown of what you can expect: a mascletá is a fireworks show that focuses mostly on sound and vibrations. I highly recommend y'all to experience this as it is a local tradition and a show unlike any other, keep in mind it is VERY LOUD, so if you are sensitive to loud explosions then I recommend to stay away from the area.

I would love to go! I’ve been dreaming of going to Spain since I was a kid. I’m the most fluent in Spanish, Irish American there is 🤣
