Favorite song of all time: Paranoid Android - Ok Computer (1997) Radiohead

Good day TraxSuits. Is there a song you used to make fun of or sing ironically but now you kinda absolutely love it? I’m of the age where my sister was a preteen crushing on *NSYNC, which drove me crazy. Nowadays my wife and I regularly have fun singalongs in the car, belting Bye Bye Bye like I might get discovered. Love the show, thrilled to hear from Mike, he’s a gem. Thanks!

You guys absolutely need to listen to this song. The lyrics are pure poetry, and the singing comes through so aggressively. You can tell the artist is hurting, and when the screaming comes in it hits so hard and emotional. The ending of the song is my favorite when the tempo slows and basically melts my face. Be prepared to melt your face. Anna by Norma Jean from the album All Hail. https://open.spotify.com/track/0kemaAFQ2sEPBGBaWgFitz?si=o1e5pwjvQAOgZN6FmViO3g

The song I'd like to submit this week is "Why We Ever" from Petals for Armor by Hayley Williams. I've really been digging the smaller, deeper cuts from this album, and I'm even more into how heavily bass is featured throughout this album. This song is lyrically such a relatable subject, and it s a nice change of pace in terms of tone from the rest of the album. Here's a link: https://youtu.be/0jC-iHdy41k My question for this week, since Weird Al is one of the featured artists, would be: What is your favorite original Weird Al song? Also, what was your first exposure to him as an artist? My first memory of Weird Al would be the song Dare to be Stupid from Transformers The Movie.

Dylan Drazek

So I know a lot of people tend to find classical music hard to digest unless you’re trying to sleep or concentrate, but what piece or specific composer do you find hard to avoid? For my song submission this week I chose Run Boy Run by Woodkid. It’s a sweet mixture of instrumental motivation and interesting vocals. Also it was used in the trailer for Dying Light. Thanks y’all!

In Foreigner's Urgent, they want to bang so bad they repeatedly call it an "emergency". What do you think of that?

Song: "Plea From a Cat Named Virtue" Artist: The Weakerthans Really interesting song dealing with depression and seclusion from the perspective of someone's house cat. Really beautiful song.

Weird Al's albums were the first and only CDs I ever bought. The Ipod came out around that time and I soon discovered Limewire. I've heard from others that Weird Al was the first music they got into too. Do you think it was common for Weird Al to be a child's first foray into music? Thanks, love the show!

https://youtu.be/RsKqMNDoR4o. This was one of the first songs I ever liked as a kid. The crowd went wild for it and George Michael and Elton John's voices are spectacular.

I love Steely Dan and I love The Royal Scam. However, the album is known for having a bad album cover. What are some other albums you remember having bad covers/artwork?

Tamrial Beleren

This is my first time listening to this Steely Dan album. The first thing I noticed was a part of the song that was sampled for Kanye West's song, Champion. Have you ever heard a sample you instantly recognized? Any favorites? And has a sample ever lead you to a song that you ended up enjoying?

Hello I’d like to recommend Remember to Breathe by Sturgill Simpson for a song this week. It’s off his most recent album Sound & Fury which is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums. What’s an album that you enjoyed on your first listen but enjoyed more and more as you listened?

Tim Lorow

Matt, how was your experience with Hamilton? Song: Roman's Revenge by Nicki Minaj

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=smv8rkXkvYc Hello Matt, Jason, and Mike! As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate purely instrumental music more sometimes even over songs with lyrics. My question is do you enjoy pure instrumental music or do you still prefer lyrical music? My suggestion for the community playlist is from a fantastic instrumental band Naxatras.

I was wondering if you folks had any "gateway" songs or bands. Songs/bands that got you into a genre of music you previously didn't really listen to. My for instance being 'Wait So Long', by Trampled by Turtles. I hadn't really cared for/explored bluegrass, I was mostly into heavier rock/punk. 'Wait So Long' being a fast paced, almost punk-like bluegrass tune, and I got absolutely hooked on that song. From there, I checked out the rest of their stuff, and eventually became a fan of bluegrass in general.

For a song suggestion: "Beneath the Piano" by The Devil Makes Three. https://youtu.be/vmFpS84nMQo If anyone else listens to The Devil Makes Three, how do you describe their music to others? Modern take on old timey americana?

just a quick comment: the band that got suggested two weeks ago: The Hu actually did the intro song of star wars jedi fallen order. Its called Black Thunder but my official song suggestion is : soldiers eyes by Jack Soveretti https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQv-D0De2nk

Have you had any instances of going to a concert with an opening band that you've never heard of, and walked away more blown away by the opener than the headliner? I ask because I went to go see the band Wintersun awhile ago and Ne Obliviscarus, an Australian band I had never heard of was the opener. I was blown away by the mix of clean and guttural vocals and the melodic elements backed by a violin being interwoven into some pretty brutal metal. I immediately went to their merch booth after the set and bought their discography. On a related note, my suggestion for a song for this episode is Ne Obliviscarus' "and plague flowers the kaleidoscope". It's not a short song, but it takes you on one hell of a worthwhile journey, and is actually the song they played during their live set that convinced me I needed to buy their entire discography. Can't recommend it enough. https://youtu.be/aMorAdnCixg

Just a thought, but I feel like the release of the Beastie Boys Story on Apple Tv on the 24th of April, going back to Licence to Ill maybe even with a pair up with Paul's Boutique would be stupendous and fitting.
