Hi everybody! With the new year we've been talking about changing/adding some things here at MinnMax, and we'd love to hear your feedback on what type of content you'd like in the future. Vote for your favorite options (more than one is great!) in the poll below, or leave a comment with what you'd like to see in 2021.

As always, thanks for supporting independent games media! We couldn't create this stuff without you.

I understand why it is difficult, but i would love to see a 2nd full timer in the near future. To me, being able to spread responsibilities to a 2nd person would create more opportunities to do more creative projects that require more commitment (like documentaries). Also, i get it if you guys would absolutely despise this, but i personally would love to see you guys make video reviews of games. There are some channels that i only watch their reviews (easy allies is one for me), so i would imagine that would help you grow your audience.

Witchstalker

I thought the Cobysoft Joe video was a great one, that doesn't really fit into any current categories. Might be difficult to get time with artists and developers, but I think it would be a fun area to explore further!

Austin Brackeen

Who voted for less content? Show yourselves!

Barry Barrison

More news discussion on podcasts. If possible a longer MinnMax show.

BEEFCAKE

I voted for more film/TV coverage and more interviews. I generally don’t watch any type of streams because it’s just not my thing. But I devour podcasts, anything to give me a little more podcast time. I think a small segment of what you guys are watching that week would be great on the show, it’s just nice to stretch your legs from all the video game discussions. And I genuinely love developer interviews.

Joseph Dowdy

Id like to see more team multiplayer stuff. I recently went back and watched the halo stream and it was hilarious

Jeffrey Rommel

I really enjoy max spoilers, even on movies/shows.

Joseph Dowdy

Also, what cant Best Friend Ronnie be a category?

Hunter Sax

Not sure how easy it is to make happen, but seeing MinnMax crew in other places is always an awesome surprise, crossovers in general. Also not being funny. Would love a special one off series where we get to watch JeffM finish Red Dead Redemption 2. I think it would be a very sweet community moment.

Barnsley Pal

I love the deepest dives, more of those is better. Would be great if they weren't for brand new games. I get that's when excitement is high, but I rarely play games when they first come out these days, and I get the sense I am not alone there. Games need to go through too many patches before they are "as meant to be played". On a different note, would be great to have 2 weeks between episodes. I love being part of the conversation, but I have found it harder to stay in the conversation after the first episode. The show just gets ahead of my play through. Thanks for all the great content!

Cameron

It makes the most sense to keep doing the hot games but having more Deepest Dives on classic games like Chrono Trigger and Mario 64 more often would be fun

Tommy Carver-Chaplin

I can't see the option and I've probably said this a couple of times, but long plays/let's plays/sequential shows. My favourite content is stuff that is on going and develops show to show.

Jesse Spencer

The Dirge!!! But seriously, Grant and Ronnie play sessions are fantastic. I really enjoyed all of the ff7 content and watching you play Demon Souls with those two giving you support.

Brian Lyness

I'd actually like to see episodes dedicated to the big new AAA games or highly anticipated indie titles get the full review treatment ala Kinda Funny. It would be great hearing the different perspectives on for example Returnal or Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, from each minnmaxer. I know there's caveats that come with this as you's don't get seem to get codes as early as some of the other sites. You could give yourselves a couple of weeks to finish the said title & then pop up the review discussion. One other suggestion I'd love to see come to fruition would be to pick a game in a genre that is out of your comfort zone every so often & give your impressions on the podcast. Always surprise us too!

MyNameIsDan

As mentioned on minnfaqs multiple times, I think more discussion on games (new and old) would be great, and they could fit in the max-spoiler category. I don't always need a 3-4 episode deepest dive for game discussions. I think any time two or more cohorts finish a game, there should be a thought to see if those cohorts would like to discuss the entire game and record it as a 1-2 hour max-spoiler episode. This can help you stay on top of talking about newly released games without having to commit so many hours to discussing it, and it may also allow you to open up your deepest dives to older games that may be easier to play and discuss at a slower pace. Now while I am not the biggest fan of the "Get a load of this" segment, I'm wondering if you could turn this into a completely separate show. This covers the categories of "a new exclusive show" and "more community interaction". You could review multiple entries submitted by the community and discuss them amongst the cohorts. A lot of popular twitch streamers do something called a "reddit recap" which has them go through and discuss posts, with a lot of upvotes, in their personal subreddits. You could follow this very format but focus on fun and interesting things that are typically posted for "Get a load of this". Just a thought! Thanks for all the effort you have put into this patreon! Love the show!

Nick Wright

Super replay! Super replay! Just call it something else! I don't care if its called "Ben and Anna and Kyle Jeff and Suriel and Leo Plays...", but I'd sure like some long form gaming sessions.

Jordan Brown

Honestly, I would love to see Deepest Dives on older games more. I feel like you would run into less issues like the whole Cyberpunk GOTY thing. That and I find retro review and analysis more interesting. But that's just me.

Taylor Owens

All I want is more retro Deepest Dives babyyyyyy

Mike Lynch

I'd love a show hosted by Ana Diaz and Jeff Cork. Maybe where each week, Jeff can pick a retro game that Ana has never heard of, and Ana can pick a current game Jeff has never heard of.

Preetham Yarlagadda

Just more spoilery discussions in general! I'm not sure how well they'd do numbers wise, but things like a Yakuza 7 discussion now that Ben and Suriel are finished with it would be nice. I know being topical is good, but it's always nice to get an in depth conversation about any game at any time. Even during the main podcast having a spoilery discussion and then just time stamping it would be nice. I know Ben mentioned liking Waypoint's style of conversation at one point and I think them being able to jump into spoilers and discuss the details of a game allows for a more fluid conversation on the main pod.

Andreas Kryger

I generally only consume podcast - thanks for the great production and audio quality - so I would love more spoilery discussions of games and especially more Mandalorian and WandaVision like content. That is just great. Thanks for some great content overall.

PDubs

More WatchLater style stuff unique to MinnMaxx, Aside from the podcast its what I come to you guys for

Will Cornelius

Leo, Hanson, Ronnie & Anna smoke weed and play Dreams. Fava show 'Angry Gamer', similar to Watch Later...a joke on something that's riling up jEff' 'em. RDR2 too much of a good thing, idk

Brian W

Some of my favorite things are recurring segments. Thankful for, back of the box trivia, every game is interesting, etc. honestly that’s the one thing missing from the GI days. In the end I just want fun, cool, gaming content. Keep it up!

Seth Filbin

More deepest dives would be great, specifically on TV/movies. Hanson's constant talk about the Blank Check podcast got me hooked; something along those lines would be awesome. I might even up my monthly payment!

Johnny.b.ok

I struggle to keep up with new games and love the deepest dives so more retro or even slightly old deepest dives are great, but realize staying current is important for growing the audience. I trust you guys to put out great work no matter what, but the more you can cater to old overworked gamer parents struggling to catch up on games from the past few years the better for me (e.g. Old GOTY recaps, post-mortem interviews, etc.) - I realize not the biggest audience though.

Max

Coach me if you can,. A show where an expert at one game trains a newbie : Suriel teaching a fighting game to Anna, Kyle teaching puzzle games to Ben, Leo teaching mastery of Hitman 3 to someone else, guest Dan tack teaching a soulsborne to someone, JeffM err.... Could be one shot episodes or a series until completion of the game.

Mathew Angelly

Regular streams would be great. I hang out on Dan Tack and Kimberly Wallace's streams a lot. They even crossover sometimes to play things like Among Us together. And Stream Raiders is a fun way to get the community involved on streams.

Sandshrewd

I know they aren't the biggest hitters for views, but the videos of you playing games and Ronnie and Grant coaching you through are my favorite.

RedBeast

As someone who primarily consumes your content via audio, I enjoy the discussions from the podcasts and weekly q&a. Keep up the great content and I have enjoyed all of your guests this past year.

Lucy Yearwood

This is not helpful but I'm pretty content with things how they are

Rich Lynch

More content that celebrates retro/classic games like the celebration of FFVII

StillGotGame

Living overseas (Australia), I find that a lot of the community stuff is not unable to hook me given the time difference. More exclusive content that doesn’t feel it needs to be consumed there and then would be great, although I appreciate my circumstances are not relevant to most in the community

YARF

Piggy backing off some folks, but Max spoilers would be a fun way to jump into different things for some fresh content and material(without the same amount of dedicated bandwidth as the occasional treat that is deep dive) but may also serve as a means of gathering traffic and driving growth by covering popular, current, topical stuff from different entertainment arenas. Then just one-off weird things here and there. A “stress test” challenge where someone tries doing some game challenge one day, and then another day playing a board game together, another day just going out into the city and asking random strangers which person someone would want to date, with a picture of Cloud and Sephiroth LOL, just whatever tickles the fancy. Some fun stuff peppered in for the supporters/loyalists and for your own souls and personal interests, and then regular dedicated content that is topical, and may bring more folks into the fold. Keep it coming, always enjoy the content.

ryan

Since people are still too spooked to leave the house, some more board game coverage would be great.

Hurl3y13Tank

You guys are doing an amazing job, I genuinely enjoy every piece of content you guys upload, I work as a driver and crush podcasts all day, so i would appreciate audio versions for as much content as possible but i understand some stuff doesnt play well in audio only. Also, I know he isnt technically a CLC, but if you put Jeff Cork in a video, imma watch it. Keep that S up!

Divorced Cougar (Mike M)

Hanson gameplay with Ronnie and Grant is one of my favorite things so I'd love more. I also think the Holiday Special showed some flashes of what could be cool if expanded upon. Suriel's videogame baking segment was a hoot, and I was all in for Ana's How To segment especially since I was halfway through How To With John Wilson when I watched. I love all the cohorts so I'd be down to see whatever you all are passionate about!

Zach E

More people on the GOTY hunt? It's always fun to hear banter, which isn't always easy now when one person has to concentrate on playing the game

Samuel

I'm curious about the TV and Film coverage. If I remember correctly a while back in one podcast a mention of maybe doing a daily news show. If that was possible that would be great. If not I'm curious what other Deepest Dives you guys could do.

Holden Hintz

The fact we haven’t had any TTS with the cohorts is a travesty. JeffM teaching Kyle how to play a board game sounds like chefs kiss.

RickyWinterborn

a daily or mon-wed-fri 10 min news show would be fun, i think it's prob too much work, but i'd love minnmax's take on a show similar to tech news on linus tech tips channel. switch up the host everyday, maybe kyle could write them? lots of jokes

RickyWinterborn

minnterviews are always my favorite content from the channel, so i'd say more of those but there's already one a week right? im sure the funny polygon guys vid rocketing to #1 on the channel is informing some decisions...

Nathan McKee

MinnYaks: the cohorts try to find the smallest yak in the world.

Nathan McKee

Seriously though, I always like more gameplay stuff, especially full playthroughs but I know how time-consuming those are. I also love tabletop stuff and especially TTRPGs.

Noah D.

Community Sick Stunts!!!

Matthew Weatherley

In regards to what you said in Minnfaqs about what to do about talking about smaller games and smaller news stories. I can picture a show in the style of a warioware game. Every topic gets a quick 30 second overview followed by a crazy minnmax screen wipe and then onto the next topic. Also I want to love the goty hunt more but it just seems so disconnected from the actual game of the year.

Brian Riegel

I'm probably going to be in the minority but the regular podcast can be a bit lengthy. I like the organic discussions but sometimes 2+ hours can be a bit much.

Macka

I'd love to see more film/tv coverage! The Deepest Dive for The Thing was one of my favourite things you made last year. That said, I'm not sure I'd want more movie deep dives if they came at the expense of game ones, but if both is a possibility...yes please!

Marcus Ault

Personally I'd like more off-topic discussion in the MinnMax show. Also, I'd like more chances for the community to vote on the Deepest Dive.
