Saki is real, lets goooooo ❤️🥰

Didrik Svahn

Is this a return of Miyako diaries? As I love to see more of Saki as a shrine maiden. Also the fact to learn more about her mother Misao as well ^^

What is the time point of the story?

Nathan Sample

Another example of how legendary the Five Minute Summer ladies truly are - literally, in this case :)

Good question, it is a bit into the future :)

Guardian

Honestly I almost want her to dive in the Shrine maiden outfit.

Sanctuary? Is the place for that sacred rituals? Saki finally begin to challenge the ritual like her mother Misao as well.

A couple observations/questions. One: is this swim comparable to the cousins dive through Tori-Ike tunnel? If it’s a Shrine Maiden ritual, I have to imagine it’s even longer and more grueling. Two: apparently Sea Priestess’s are allowed to wear whatever they want on the dive, as long as it doesn’t give them some kind of performance help, like a wetsuit or fins. Otherwise Saki wouldn’t be diving in her bikini for the ritual. Finally, she got permission from the elders? How and why? I thought Saki understood that they essentially separated her from her family in order to coerce her to listen to them. Unless she got permission for the dive but then decided to change the itinerary somewhat, like changing the destination or lengthening the swim, something that tests her that even the elders wouldn’t be comfortable with her attempting (like a fifteen minute dive rather than a ten). I REALLY hope we get a follow-up to this.

This actually takes place a bit in the future…in the time when the legitimacy of Saki as the Priestess after her mother is subject to a new scrutiny. More to come…

So will this be a plot point later on in Tiger Lily or to next series?

I look forward to Aya and Eri's activity in the story, hope them try to challenge the ritual as well.

I could see Aya getting a big head and figuring that if Saki can do it so can she. It might even work out for her, considering the almost equivalent skill to Saki underwater. Eri, on the other hand, as much as I would love to see her dive alongside the younger girls more often, wouldn’t make it. The only feats comparable to the younger girls are when she met them at -180 meters and returned under her own power and that Christmas thing where she was cosplaying a Santa bikini in the Yaeyama-Maru. Both times the cousins and Saki outlasted her, and even dove deeper. That’s not to say she couldn’t accompany one or both of them halfway or bring a rebreather with, but freediving for that long is currently outside her capability.
