Oh nooo, i heard those are extreamy spicy, even on the spicy meter of mesurment (scoville heat unit)

lisenke

Is it possible to buy peppers that are spicy enough in Miyako?

Pilot231X

How would one say “Oops” in 日本語?

Nathan Sample

Whoa, talk about bringing the heat!

Dragon-Tear

Am assuming Lamyeon is pronounced similar to "Ramen" in Korean or where does the confusion come from?

savaster

Please refer to the beginning of the video - also, there actually isn’t an “R” sound in Japanese.

lisenke

Looks Yuri's Japanese is still not good enough, and she doesn't look like she majored in Japanese in university.

Dragon-Tear

Heard that before but never thought of the implications for "Ramen", lol. Fascinating. I'll go looking up how the word "Ramen" then came to be.

savaster

“Ramen” and “Lamyeon” both come from “Lamian” (拉面) which is a Chinese word for a noodle soup. You might have had it as a dish in a Chinese restaurant. Ramen and Lamyeon each evolved into something very different, the former using soy and broth, and the latter often getting rid of the soup element and adding pepper paste. :-)

Dragon-Tear

I see! What I meant with where "Ramen" came from is why/how they ended up with the letter R in English xD

savaster

Miyako actually has a fairly urban center (Hirara) with a shopping mall so I’m sure you can find them if you tried.

CellZeus

I have the impression I’d like to try Yuri’s cooking
