And now the twist? Why do I feel there isn’t going to be a twist and Chihaya is going to surface just fine? You know you can have plenty of underwater peril without setting the story in the actual ocean, right? Chihaya looks beautiful, and the evident strain on her face makes that double, but what I’m here for is breaking the limits, not just pushing them. We need to reunite the cousins soon; all the good underwater stuff seems to happen around Aya and Saki.

Let me guess what will happen next: Chihaya suddenly black out when she ready to get up and sink into the deep cylinder. Jun must to challenge her limits to rescue Chihaya.

I’ve never really like Yuri, actually. I’m not quite sure what it is, but it might have something to do with the fact that she’s not explicitly a freediver, more a thrill seeker or in it for the money. Eri was the highlight of Soaked Spirits for me, and she was barely in it. If that story eventually leads our girls back to the deep water wreck with the girl in the bikini standing outside the hull, then fine, but otherwise it wasn’t really my favorite story.

Well Yuri seems to be more of a stunt diver as shown before. And she only does it for money as she is broke as shown at the start of Tiger Lily. So I can understand that as one needs to pay the bills and eat. And speaking of eating Yuri often eats a lot even given the chance. That could tell you that she probably often has to skip meals because she does not have enough money. But yeah the Soaked Spirit seems to have set up something when it comes to the spirit/deity part of this story. Which is interesting how that could tie in with Saki and her becoming a priestess

That’s even more of an excuse for Chihaya to waterlog herself here. Sure, she doesn’t know it, but if she’s going to head back down to that wreck with the others she’s going to need some serious endurance training to avoid a repeat of last time. So introduce a complication HERE in the story and it won’t feel like such an asspull when she can comfortably survive in a much harsher environment.

Is it just me, or were Chihaya’s “gulps” removed from the English version? Why?

I downloaded the image and the “gulp” was indeed removed from the image. I wonder if this was to showcase that she is not as close to her limit as shown before🤔

I preferred the Gulps. We don’t get nearly enough vocalizations underwater by our girls, and the noise of struggling just illustrates how hard she’s pushing herself. Also, if I’m not mistaken, the Japanese version still has the sound, since there’s text where the gulps were in English.

Ah, with the English version, since the “Gulp”s need to be written sideways and text closely spaced, they interfere with Chihaya’s br****s so removed…do you want them back on? ;-)

The way it was written at first was fine (I actually preferred it, yeah). Besides, Chihaya, alongside all the other under twenty year old girls, never has her ni***es showing through the suit (something I appreciate on Eri, believe me) so it’s not interfering with anything essential. It seems like if anyone of our main three would be showing their ni***es shape through their suits, it would be Chihaya and Saki, so the cousins one piece and the shrine maidens swim bra must be padded.
