My background with the Chrono series starts with Chrono Trigger back in the 90s. Like so many other people it’s one the games on my epic shelf. As someone who went on to own a PlayStation after the SNES I was excited for all things Square. When this game came out I had preordered it and the strategy guide. I’m glad I bought a strategy guide for this game because man oh man is this game obtuse and almost never tells you what to do. Having said that I really did enjoy the game but it definitely didn’t live up to Chrono Trigger. I think it’s because the characters themselves being lackluster in comparison. I would recommend this game to old school RPG fans because it has an interesting story and fun battle system. Looking forward to seeing some of these Characters on the Character Issues podcast.
