Okay, here we are once again when two, shall we say, "seasoned" gamers, sit down and natter about stuff. Sometimes it's game-related and sometimes it ain't but hey, that's just the way it goes with these things sometimes.Anyway, enjoy!

Just a thought but I think you should consider patreon tiers. Although I pledge a fair bit above the minimum I haven’t increased it for a while. I recently increased my TCGS patreon because there were so many incremental incentives beyond the core podcast. I’m not sure how it would work but perhaps a sort of “Patreon Picks” from a list of series you want to cover anyway or similar. I’m huge fan and appreciate your commitment to the barrier to entry being low but I think you should consider it. I’ll support you no matter what.

Thank you, Simon. We have been considering tiers from the start but (as discussed more than once on the exclusive monthly podcast) we still haven't come up with - or been suggested - a viable solution. While it seems like the 'obvious' path, there are so many potential editorial problems with the concept of offering 'Patreon picks', we're not at all comfortable with the idea at this point. We will keep mulling it over until we can come up with something though - we would certainly like to incentivise folks to pledge more - although it should be said, despite the minimum remaining at $1 per person per month, the average that people kindly donate is actually is much closer to $2. Any and all bright ideas considered though!

I know you thought it through a lot. I just don’t think you get the rewards you deserve for your work. I’m glad the average is closer to $2. When I say “patreon picks” I mean if you were planning on covering a particular series anyway or had panel interest you could give the coin toss decision to anyone at $2 or above.

It might nudge the figure higher. Unfortunately I’m not an eccentric entrepreneur so I can’t bribe you to cover some of my niche favourites. If that changes I’ll let you know haha

The way TCGS did it probably isn’t practical realistically which is to say “we will do more if you pay us” and it worked a treat. You already do so much that i don’t think it’s possible for you to stretch yourself further without inevitable burnout. The bonfireside chat guys started locking some podcasts behind a paywall which doesn’t sit well with some. So it’s really tricky. Giving things out early works well at the moment so that’s another option - you could announce the list for next year on a patreon exclusive podcast?
