The fruits of substantial crowdfunding and the labour of a supergroup of game devs were harvested in 2019 with the release of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The spiritual successor to the original 'IGAvania', Castlevania: Symphony of the Night arrived to relieved fans and some critical acclaim, along with its stretch goal pseudo 8-bit appetiser, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. Leon, Brian, Jon and Leah have all completed both titles and are keen to talk about them, assisted brilliantly as usual by members of the Cane and Rinse community.Music featured in this issue:1. Fallen Moons Requiem (Curse of the Moon) by Michiru Yamane, Ippo Yamada, Aoi Takeda, Takumi Sato, Hiroaki Sano, Ryo Kawakami and Ryo Yoshinaga (Curse of the Moon)2. Autumns Desolation (Ritual of the Night) by Michiru Yamane, Keisuke Ito and Ryusuke FujiokaCane and Rinse 422 edited by Jay Taylor

Love the show but when the topic inevitably comes to your insane “progressive” politics, I want to vomit. As if anyone comes to the escapist fantasy of video games with the qualification that the character avatar must be representative (well, besides unhinged armchair politicians, who, it must be said, still play the games anyway). Maybe I’ll only play video games if the main character is Acadian/Irish/Scottish. So what if the game takes place in Oz, I need to be represented in Oz exactly the way I am in the real world. Why? Please explain to me why fantasy, which, by definition, has nothing to do with reality must now integrate your quack ideas about representation. I like Metroid games and I’ll let you know that I have never once cried over the fact that Samus is a woman in a crazy space suit instead of me in an old baseball hat, a T-shirt, and jeans. Not once. Can you believe that? Why the madness with the politics? Explain it to me. Please.
