Been looking forward to this one, this is the only console I was there on day one for!

My PS2 memories: The MGS2 trailer blowing me and my buddy away; playing GTA3 and DMC at college with a bunch of louts in the grotty kitchen of our digs; Watching the cut scenes of FFX with one of my room mates who, not related, was really into big kitchen knives; discovering and loving some classic survival horror games VERY late (as in, during the last 7 years) - SH2 & 3, Fatal Frame 1-3. Great system, but not one I have a lot of nostalgia for - always more of a 'Cube kinda guy myself.

Excellent show again. Always surprised how passionate ppl get about how consoles look. Once it goes under my tv i never pay attention to how it looks

Another great console special! The PS2 was the first console I ever bought that wasn't by Sega, and it was a bittersweet day for me when I got it. I still couldn't believe my beloved Dreamcast was all but dead in the water. It got a mention on the episode, but my PS2 had a large number of disc read errors, and the problem got worse just a couple years into its lifespan. It was a common enough error that I found a guide online to fix the issue by opening up the console and spinning back a little white plastic cog that determined the depth the disc tray reached. This corrected the issue for 6 months to a year or so until I had to repeat the step, each time with diminishing returns. It therefore also became the first console I ever had to buy twice. I eventually picked up a Slim model just so that I could replay Final Fantasy XII, which remains one of the highest of highs of the PS2's stellar library for me.

Fabulous episode. Love it when a new console special appears.

Wonderful console. Enjoyed the show. There was a time when I crept up towards 600 games for this thing, but saw reason eventually (wish I'd kept more of the obscure RPGs though)
