Bleak, dystopian, depressing - and that's just 2020. It's not funny because it's true. To distract from the day-to-day misery, Leon, Jesse, Jon and Ryan enter the Hell-realm that is Cyberdreams' 1995 point and click adaptation of Harlan Ellison's grim short story from 30 years prior, I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

Excellent coverage of a difficult game. I had meant to contribute on the forum but didn’t get around it. I played the game whilst suffering/recovering from COVID in isolation from my family. Probably not the best subject matter for that particular scenario but I think it enhanced the despair and constant oppressive atmosphere. The dark, sweaty and lonely room I played in whilst bedridden resonated with so many of the themes in the game. It was interesting to hear some of the panel were not affected by it and Jesse’s comment about the game being played by “bad game podcasts” was surprised. I don’t disagree that in terms of game design and themes it often wildly missed the mark but I felt it got under my skin so much as to be a significant entry in my gaming history. Kudos to Jon for choosing it and this is absolutely one of the reasons I value cane and rinse so much and pledge well beyond the minimum tier. I don’t just get nudged towards games sitting on my shelf or backlog list but introduced to original products which will continue to hold significance to me. Great choice of game, great panel, great presenting and perfectly edited. Well done.

After listening to this conversation I thought I was mentally prepared for the radio drama. Wow, I was not. That story really is unsettling. Perhaps it’s a good thing the game had some laughable quirks. Still glad you guys talked about it. I truly enjoy discovering games from this show. Speaking of, I started listening back in 2015 and did a massive catchup. During that time I downloaded Ghost Story but I never started it. Well I finally played it and listened to your episode. Great game and great listen!
