In the years between the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Uncharted, Naughty Dog were primarily the Jak and Daxter studio. While the series would go on to darker sequels and less successful spinoffs, it began with 3D platform open world collect 'em up adventure, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor legacy. In this podcast, Leon, Brian, Josh, Ryan and community correspondents clamber and kick their way through the elf (?) and Ottsel's initial outing.

Great to hear a real mix of opinions on this one, and a balanced discussion of all the pros and cons. There was a fair bit of love on the forum for this game and I was worried that my own comments were a bit harsh so it was a relief to hear the panellists echo most of them!

I really enjoyed this game even playing through it in 2020 but there was a reason I couldn't work out as to why it wouldn't be on my top 10 platformers of all time such as the other Naughty Dog titles. After listening to this episode I finally realized why. Thank you Cane and Rinse for once again vocalizing things that I could never. All things considered, I still love this game. Great show!

I think I’ve been given this game a lot of times by Sony and it’s probably on PSNow. I’ve always thought about playing this but it doesn’t sound like it’s a must play.
