OK! Leon, do you have a favorite CaR show, or one that you're most proud of recording? What was it about that show that elevated it above the others, do you think? And Jay - I always appreciate your movie recommendations; can you give us your top 5 movies of all time? Or just some great films that you might not have mentioned before. Thaaaaaaaanks!

Broken Sword turned 25 this week, and last year we got Beyond A Steel Sky. Are there any "classic" adventure games you'd like like to see sequels to, remakes or remasters of? Do you think there is even still a market for adventure games, given the most recent examples may well be the various Telltale series, and that studio folded?

What's something from your areas of expertise (from your podcasts, other work/projects, or otherwise) that you're surprised isn't more common knowledge among your audiences?

elboobio

Beyond a steel sky, the sequel to beneath a steel sky is already out

Which is your favourite game controller from any generation of console?

Curious to your thoughts about how you'd answer one or both of these questions from "Sex, Drugs and Coca Puffs": Let us assume a fully grown, completely healthy Clydesdale horse has his hooves shackled to the ground while he head is held in place with thick rope. He is conscious and standing upright, but he is completely immobile. And let us assume that for some reason every political prisoner on earth (as cited by Amnesty International) will be released from captivity if you can kick this horse to death in less than twenty minutes. You are allowed to wear steel-toed boots. Would you attempt to do this? You are watching a movie in a crowded theater. Though the plot is mediocre, you find yourself dazzled by the special effects. But with twenty minutes left in the film, you are struck with an undeniable feeling of doom: You are suddenly certain your mother has just died. There is no logical reason for this to be true, but you are certain of it. You are overtaken with the irrational metaphysical sense that somewhere your mom has just perished. But this is only an intuitive, amorphous feeling; there is no evidence for this, and your mother has not been ill. Would you immediately exit the theater, or would you finish watching the movie? thanks!

Hi there gentlemen! Long time listener, thank you for the great content over the years. Question for you: any thoughts on the Mario movie cast? The cast is quite interesting to me, and I think the film actually has potential to be quite good. I'm happy they seem to actually be investing budget on this project, and I am curious to see how they tackle adapting Mario into a feature-length film.

Peter

Have you played RimWorld and if so, why hasn't there been a podcast on it yet?

Cardb0ardC0wb0y

Haha you knew what I meant. I'm a few beers deep in to my Saturday night ;-) Have edited my post to reflect this, though!

What are your thoughts on cable management? I used to build industrial electrical panels professionally, so when I cable manage, I will spend a few hours making it clean-clean. Do your TVs have electrical spaghetti? Or do you plan out your cable routing? How much of a trial would moving your gaming kit be? Thanks lads.

If you could pick one super human ability to call your own; what would it be and why?

DarkFishDays

Do you have any favorite childhood games that you’re afraid to replay because it may not stand up to your fond memories?

Scott Lamond

Has this question been prompted by @chrisoregan’s recent Twitter photos? 😂

Nicholas

Question for Leon - you have mentioned your abstinence from alcohol a couple of times on the show and I was curious how that choice has affected your relationship with video games. Hope all is well with you guys, absolutely love the monthly show.

Ramen - 塩 or しょゆ?

Long sessions of recording must make a fella thirsty: what is everyone’s go-to beverage for lubricating the throat and mind while on the mic?

If all animals, insects, birds, etc were the same size, which member of the animal kingdom would win in a complete battle royale? (a wasp the size of a bus would battle a gorilla that was also the size of a bus, for example)

James McCaul

Going back to your younger years. Who was your first celebrity crush? In 1988 when I was 11 mine was Belinda Carlisle. Thanks as always for all your hard work producing excellent podcasts.

Paul M

If you could be the “work experience kid” for a week at any game studio, getting to see how everything works, which studio would you choose? (For the sake of this question, imagine we are in a “normal” pre-covid world)

Chris Hayward

Leon - Brighton have had a damn good start to the season and are one of the best teams to watch (I'm a Spurs fan and need some football joy in my life!). Do you think you can get finish in the top half of the Premier League or even push for European football in a way that Burnley did a few seasons ago?

One Credit Classics

What was the first game you ever got a one credit clear on? Any system/format, not just arcade.

Tleprie

Who are some your favorite essay writers? Any particular words/passages that have stuck with you?

Fernando Antúnez

With the homogenization of many AAA games into distilled formulas, recent advancements in games seem to be taking place more on story-focused developments rather than gameplay-focus ones. I'd like to ask what's your opinion on this trend and whether you see this being mostly the future of gaming and whether you're okay with this or would prefer more gameplay-centric improvements.

Wonggifs

What is your most missed defunct or retired game developer/studio? I think I miss Working Designs, who were more of a localisation studio than a real developer, but no one else is really cramming anachronistic pop culture references into weird JRPGs these days. Treasure are much missed too...anyways, thanks chaps!

Ben Taylor

I'd love a top 10 games from you both or maybe even the wider crew if it's not been covered already (apologies if it has). Doesn't even need to be in order really just always interesting to see where tastes differ and align.

Matt Nicolaidis

Nah, I had been working on cable management on my CRT cart that day.

Ben

Think I may be late to this, but do you guys have any games, music, or films/shows you would consider a guilty pleasure? I’d consider a few of the hair bands I still listen to on occasion as well as some of the trashier anime I watch to fit this bill. Gaming-wise I can’t say I’m embarrassed by my gaming choices, but jrpgs sometimes have content that would make me cringe in company. Well, it makes me cringe even when playing alone.

Cane and Rinse

[Jay] No can do on the "all time" thing but five films I'd recommend like, this week, would be 1. Patterson 2. Lucky 3. Brotherhood of the Wolf 4. Climax 5. Samurai Marathon

Christopher McLaughlin

Feel like I am probably too late as well, so I may pose this question again if one of these happens in the future. Apologies if this has been asked already. I am turning 30 next year and am dealing with a lot of existential dread. Unfortunately, I don't think I've ever been able to come to terms with my guilt over the amount of video games I play. I love the medium so dearly, I always have, yet I can't shake the feeling that I should be doing something else with my time. When totaled, I have spent many months, possibly even years of my life in front of the screen. This is all time I will never get back. Did either of you struggle with this feeling? Or do you still? What are your thought processes like when considering things like this? Thanks for all your hard work on the show. I appreciate your content so much. (Also, if anyone else would like to answer this, please do. I would like to hear anybody's point of view.)
