Regrettably late for Halloween and the game's 15th anniversary (as well as the fifth anniversary of its last-gen rerelease), we tardily tackle Capcom's zombie-infested mall simulator, Dead Rising. Leon, Jon, Karl and community contributors ruminate upon whether the notoriously bounce-offable 2006 title was in fact ahead of the curve, with its RPG roguelite elements and emphasis on learning by doing, dying and retrying.Music featured in this issue:1. Woohoo, been refreshing all day haha (done a lot of driving today) and this has dropped with perfect timing for a good 2 hour round trip I'm about to embark upon! Loved this game back in the day, after bouncing off it once or twice.

Lovely chat but I did report you to the FCC for the egregious swear word

So I've been set down a rabbithole of wikipedia surfing. After hearing about the disclaimer regarding the connection to Dawn of the Dead. It jogged a memory of Breath of Fire's town called Romero, that yes, had quite a number of zombie residents. I know staff from Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter also worked on Dead Rising; not sure if it was the same team members from the original Breath of Fire. Could there be a secret connection or conspiracy combining all these projects? Dawn of the Dead Rising Dragons? Could just be a coincidence . . . Great episode by the by. Always enjoy a swear.
