Although it has no bearing on what we discussed in this podcast for over two and a half hours, I really fancy a tin of baked beans on toast right about now. So whilst I'm off to the supermarket since it doesn't close until midnight, you lot can get to downloading this exclusive podcast with our heartfelt thanks since you're all pretty awesome for supporting us!Be careful not to waste it though, you're not getting another one for at least four weeks!

Excellent as always. Really loving the Elden Ring chat. Looking forward to next month's.

I also enjoyed FF7 Remake, but the whole whisper part was trash to me. They could have kept all the other changes and changed even more of the story, just drop the whispers and my biggest issue with the story is taken care of.

I want a special C&R episode where Jay outlines how he has remained so enthusiastic about things he likes as he's gotten older. I'm only 39 and I already feel too cynical to be enthusiastic about anything! Except C&R of course.

That's the thing, I adore BotW, it's one of my favorite games ever. I just think I prefer the "souls" gameplay in the context of a more narrowly designed, puzzle-like world.

Whether the Bishop that shows up at the end of Alien³ was a robot or not has always perplexed me too. There's an abundance of mixed signals during his appearance. My guess is that he was a human who cared more about getting the alien sample than tending to his mangled ear.

I have never collected star wars figures, but I do have the complete smash bros. amiibo collection. I have to think should I ever stop enjoying them that they will be profitable to sell.

Having just seen the latest Halo episode, are you still as positive on the Halo series as you were at the recording? I feel like all the goodwill the episode you talked about had garnered for me was squandered with the following two episodes. Essentially went from “bearable with cool moments” to “absolutely horrible” for me. I’ll see if the finale convinces me that it will be worth it to come back for a second season.

I wondered if you’re thinking of upgrading to any of the new PlayStation plus tiers which launch soon. I’ll probably try the premium for a couple of months to try out what’s being made available but don’t think I’d stay at that level permanently. Thanks for all the lovely monthly chat.

RE: Bad Prosthetics. Have you seen the new grindhouse / texas chainsaw homage X? It has some really bad old people prosthetics, and they are the main antagonists so I find it impossible to believe anybody could be scared by bad guys that look like Johnny Knoxville doing his bad grandpa routine. Why not just use actual old people? Mind boggling.

I really hope the next monthly is recorded after Leon and Jay have watched episode 3 of Kenobi.

I have to disagree on there not being a enough voices on podcasts. I know personally I’m surprised what I write ends up on podcasts. And there are many names that I recognize from the forums that pop up regularly enough. I will say I think (Ryan?) has taken on some truly herculean hosting duties this volume, so there has been a lot of 1 person explaining something for a long period of time on his. That being said, there are shows that don’t even get 3 word reviews, for example. So the onus is on the podcast listeners to participate more, and probably more widely.

Good on the recommendation of the Halo show. While I dropped off at the beginning of Halo 3, it’s clear the series(especially the first episode) pays homage to the games with things almost literal scene by scene in terms of how battles play out. It might’ve been better billed as ‘Before Halo’ or a Halsey/UNSC-centered show, as that’s what it was. It was fairly interesting, but I imagine most people would’ve wanted to see more actual combat. The UNSC wheeling and dealing and having a powerful military presence(Master Chief, Spartans) was very reminiscent of the US. It’s also worth mentioning there’s A LOT of persons of color in this series right off the bat, whereas even the MCU took years to feature POC. While I definitely wouldn’t give it a 10/10(I’m not sure some of the actors are capable of pulling off what the scene was calling for), I’d say it’s worth a watch as someone on the periphery.
