An interactive rumination on what death means to the living, is one way to describe Giant Sparrow's follow-up to The Unfinished Swan. Or, a walking simulator set in a big house is another. Leon, Brian, Leah, Tony and community correspondents follow in the Finchs' footsteps to attempt to decide for themselves whether they believe a curse, fate or simply the fragile nature of existence is at play in What Remains of Edith Finch.Music featured in this issue:1. I got in on this game when it was PS Plus and just wow. There are definitely scenes that will always stick with me, the fish canning factory, the tub, the swing, and the weird tentacle scene. I swear everything I listen to one of your podcasts it makes me want to replay games I haven’t visited in years! Thank you for all the wonderful work you guys do!

Ah lovely, been looking forward to this one. Just what I need right now, a Cane and Rinse deep dive in to a beloved classic.

Would ’Story Simulation’ be a better term than Walking Simulator?

Johntempelli

Can't wait to listen to this one! I've never felt my alive then trying to navigate the last story lol. Required all my motor skills to pull that off!

Think I was more engaged by the podcast than I was the game. Cold-hearted soul that I am!

Alex79

Yeah, I think 'interactive story' works, too. I think 'walking simulator' was perhaps a little more applicable when it was being used to describe Dear Esther and maybe one or two of the other early genre games, but it doesn't really cover the extent of what more recent games try to do, does it.

DarkFishDays

You all sounded embarrassed that you discussed this game’s full story, but I personally enjoy that structure more. But I know it depends on the game. Anyway thanks for another great chat!
