I feel like 2000 years is past the statute of limitations for spoilers :)

Excellent episode everyone. Inspired another playthrough of Bastion. Which I'm sure is the outcome everyone was aiming for.

I love Hades, but I also suck at it. Not sure I’ll ever finish a run on it. Hit a wall on the Theseus/Asterius battle and after about a dozen attempts (plus more where I didn’t make it to them) I stepped away and haven’t been back yet.

Were you trying the same weapons or boon types every time? I felt the same way early on, but after experimenting I found the one that almost guaranteed a win. I can't remember it exactly, but my focus was always on speed and defence rather than power. Try using the mirror upgrades too and buy yourself some extra lives.

I appreciate the reply. I can’t remember how the system works, but I usually went with one of the suggested weapons on a run and it’s been too long to remember which gods’ abilities I usually picked when available. I am pretty sure I had unlocked all the extra lives and other health related things that would have been in the mirror. I may get back to it eventually, but I know I was getting pretty frustrated with my last attempt a few months ago.

Loved what I played of it and could appreciate why it was so acclaimed but I was clearly not very good as I lost count of how many runs it took me just to get to the 3rd level bosses. For a time I was in that flow state of enjoying simply playing it and not being frustrated by my slow progress, but inevitably moved on to something else. I only found out about the God mode very late and by that point I had already grown tired of the repetition.

A lovely episode, it's convinced me to give it another try. I played an hour or two when it came out on the switch but was a bit overwhelmed or intimidated by the format (never playd a rogue lite... rogue like? I don't really know the terminology). Looking forward to trying again!
