Here's where you can contribute your thoughts and opinions for A Short Hike for potential inclusion in the forthcoming podcast.A friendly reminder that where the feedback for the podcast is concerned, we love it - but keeping it brief is appreciated. We do want to include a breadth of opinions where appropriate, but no-one wants a discussion podcast that’s mostly reading out essays. Better to save yourself time and cut to the chase if you can.

A Short Hike is a really nice, cosy, 1 sitting game. There's nothing strenuous about it, the gameplay is simple but fun for a short playthrough. The light puzzle element of managing your flight feathers while looking for the shortest way up is just enough. I also really enjoyed the uplifting plot, such as it was. Helping out the other animals is cute, and the ending once you reach the top, speak to your mum and ride the currents into the sky before serently gliding back to the bottom was really beautiful. The game has also stayed in my mind as my son (5 yr old) regularly plays it. All he does is keep going round in circles top to bottom as he loves the glide back down. Only this weekend I had another go with him and I still like the simplicity of making your way up the mountain just to glide back down again. Lovely game.

I don't have much to say about this game other than it was one of the best gaming experiences of recent years. I simply adored it. That ending/reveal at the top of the mountain ❤️

A bit of a shame this game kinda just gets shorthanded to being an indie BOTW. Nice little time. I think we've all tried or should have tried climbing close to the top and just gliding for as long as possible. Also, calling a "Short but sweet" in the 3-word reviews now.

I don’t think any other game has felt quite as tranquil as A Short Hike was for me. Soothing but compelling, I found the feather progression system incredibly engaging, wrapped up gorgeously in its bitcrushed aesthetic. The cathartic final soar down the mountain is a triumph, along with a comically abrupt ending almost daring you to start it right back up again. Which I duly did.

Short, punchy, thought provoking, and beautiful. I played a short hike during isolation in the first lockdown and it took my breath away. On the surface it seems like just another cutesy animal game but dig a little deeper and you'll find an evocative world stuffed with interesting characters overflowing with sentimentally. This and Fire Watch are some of the most moving switch experiences I've had to date. I'll never forget this game, I hope they make another.

There's not much more to say about this game that hasn't already been said. It's cosy, but there's just enough tension to motivate you up towards Hawk Peak. I found the moment where I reached the peak, finally got reception and found out that Claire's mum was fine after surgery incredibly moving, and I think most of us can relate to worrying about a loved one in difficult situations. I also enjoyed some of the humour throughout, in particular the character who initially refuses to give you a reward after asking you the bring them 15 shells. It just highlights how quick we are as gamers to rush out and do any random task for an NPC because we expect some shiny reward at the end. Being a nice game, you do eventually get a reward, but I did feel a bit silly for a moment (in a good way). I would also add that while most of the game is fairly relaxing and easy, beachstickball was like fighting a FromSoft boss
