Blimey, that's come round fast! Feels like we only just had last month's one! Time is moving so fast. We'll all be dust soon. How depressing. Sorry. Look forward to listening!

Wonderful news! Very happy to see this pop-up. Looking forward to listening. Do want to say a big thanks to the Cane and Rinse crew. I have had a rough month, between eye surgery and contracting stomach flu. The podcasts over the last couple of months have been excellent as always and helped me get through my temporary blindness!

I toyed with a football tattoo as a teenager. But I didn't want to be associated with the (significant) minority of tatoo'd fans who are into 'ultra' culture, i.e. hooligans. Very pleased I didn't, as it would now be an advert fort sportswashing.

I have a friend who got a Harry Potter tattoo who is opposed to JK Rowlings gender views who deeply regrets the very large Harry Potter tattoo now.

It's been interesting to see all the Witcher show drama, because I loved the games then read the books. I tried watching the show and thought it was pretty rough, and Cavill didn't really work for me, so this changes nothing about my lack of investment in the show.

Tolkientaters

Tip for Leon, play on Action focused, it's still pretty easy with very generous checkpoints that fill all your potions on death. On action mode it still doesn't punish you almost at all for dying

Sam Gilbert

That podcast description .... 🤣Looking forward to actually listening as well!

Hello! Swearbot here! At 2:37:45 on the KOTOR show Leon says "good fucking point", but on closer inspection it does sound like there might be a tiny edit in there to make it slightly less audible. 😆

As the temporary Japan-based correspondent for the show, I can confirm that the Black Mirror episodes on Netflix were released as normal because I watched them all within two days of them being uploaded. So either Kojima was confused or it was a mistranslation. Anyway, I agree with the one episode a week release structure as it gives each one chance to breathe and feel less ephemeral. I think some streaming services are missing a trick with the mass dumping of shows because you lose out on a lot more word of mouth hype and you can get longer subscriptions from people who are just there for that one show. Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad felt more important and special than anything else on Netflix because of the weekly episodes.

Great pod gentlemen. No tattoos here - although me and a friend considered getting "player 1" and "player 2" tattoos back in high-school. (Thank christ we didn't) Would you ever consider doing a Persona 5 Royal Redux episode similar to what you did for The Last of Us (PS5)? I know a few if the C+R crew have played through that version fairly recently so should be fresh in the memory

God I wish they hadn’t called it Threads. That word still scares the crap out of me.

Jay's monthly podcast blurb is getting better by the month!

Aldarik

I am happy to hear Jay’s angry rant about The Witcher season three ignoring the lore and the fans. Maybe he can thus understand how much of a disgrace The Rings of Powers was to many Tolkien fans like me. Basically ignoring the lore, rewriting existing characters like Galadriel in such a way that they they basically become the opposite of the original (angry film warrior princess Galadriel on a revenge quest who threatens orc leaders to torture his men) and inventing important events while the lore was quite specific about things otherwise was a major disappointment to put it lightly. I guess both of you were not much invested in Tolkien’s cosmos which is fine but maybe the fan outrage around the Rings show becomes more understandable in the light of the Witcher disaster.

Great to hear Sniper Elite gets mentioned. I think it as an underrated series that has a dedicated fan base but only” has a medium size production budget and gets lost in the light of the so called triple A games. It is great that the developer keeps doing these games which started on PlayStation 2 long ago. I would love to hear a show on this series which is a lot of fun. There is even a board game Adaption of the game which is great in itself.

Aldarik

Sorry for taking up so much space here but this podcast seems to engage me (good!). I think I have a nice idea for even more listener inclusion. While thinking about how much I would love to hear a show about Sniper Elite (amongst many other games) I wanted to recommend that the game for maybe one (or two) podcast(a) each year could be voted by the loyal Patreon listeners. This would make this great way to support you even more interesting, it would feed great discussions and a thrilling vote. I guess there are plenty of tools to organise votings online. The easiest way would be to gather a list in a post here but there will be smarter solutions I guess. Anyways the ideas that the most voted game of us would be featured in a show would be great. If you want to guide the vote in advance the Cane and Rinse crew could come up with a list of ten games each year and listeners could choose among them. I guess there are many interesting ways to deal with that. I would be interested in all of your thoughts on that topic. Best wishes!
