Colt and Juliana go head to head, life or death, day after and day and for what? Leon, Tom, Tony and Jay relive Arkane Lyon's recursive immersive sim and, with some broadly rather negative community correspondence, attempt to explain where they feel that the ambitions of "DEATHLOOP" were met, and also where they fell short of flourishing to full fruition.Music featured in this issue:1. Cool, interested to hear views on this one. I felt like there was a bit of a backlash after the game had been out a while, it certainly wasn't one I gelled with, felt like a bit of a wasted opportunity to me, but I wonder if a sequel might improve things.

Great podcast, loved hearing Jay step in. It's always interesting to hear one with a broader range of opinions. The line GlobalSaturation89 mentioned "your place or mine" would continue to come after the daughter revelation which felt gross Also I'm pretty sure AI Julianna was there from the beginning, she just didn't invade if you weren't in a level and time with a visionary.

It did feel like there was a particular strong negative backlash at least online, maybe just more people like you not really gelling with the idea for a myriad of reasons especially after the very high reviews.

Excellent episode, really enjoyed the analysis and range of opinions, especially Thomas' breakdown of the soundtrack. Gave me a bit more appreciation for a game I had lukewarm feelings on.

Boy I bounced off this game hard. After Prey I was dying for more Arkane but this didn’t do it for me sadly.

Random question Matthew, you didn’t used to live in Ossett UK did you?

Pretty surprised by how negative so much of the feedback from the community was on this one (including my own, to be honest), and I think the panel did a great job representing the experience I actually had with the Deathloop. I stand by what I said about the Julianna plot reveal really souring my love of the game's writing at the end, but I did enjoy the game overall, and I hope we get a sequel. Ironically, it was this game that had me excited for Redfall, and I've not been so disappointed with a game release as that one in some time.

Thanks for including my late 3 word review 😊

Only just managed to finish this one as I was off work last week and I normally listen to podcasts whilst driving around everywhere. I kept trying to listen in bed but kept falling asleep (please don't take that as a reflection on the show 😆). Great show, enjoyed it as always. Interesting to hear a show where panelists were so positive but listener feedback was, I think I'm right in saying, probably more negative than positive. Personally I'd be interested in a sequel just to see what they could do with it, but if it was basically the same game with a different story then it probably wouldn't be for me.
