Here's where you can contribute your thoughts and opinions for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for potential inclusion in the forthcoming podcast.A friendly reminder that where the feedback for the podcast is concerned, we love it - but keeping it brief is appreciated. We do want to include a breadth of opinions where appropriate, but no-one wants a discussion podcast that’s mostly reading out essays. Better to save yourself time and cut to the chase if you can.

I have to wonder if I’d playing deep RPGs like Baldur’s Gate 3 or be in an active Dungeons and Dragons group as an adult if games like Pokémon and the Mario RPGs hadn’t introduced child me to concepts like turn based battles and character building. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is still one of the best of those Mario RPGs, in my opinion, no matter which version you play. It was released at a time when Nintendo was willing to take risks with the Mario brand and get WEIRD with it. This resulted in a colorful adventure with child-friendly slapstick humor that still largely holds up 20 years later, while branching out the Mario world to make it feel like a lived-in place, much like the early Paper Mario games. With the remakes of Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door on the horizon, I can only hope Nintendo is realizing there is yearning for the charming yet deep Mario role playing adventures like Superstar Saga that enraptured so many players like me back in the day.
