We're back, yet again, for our thirteenth year of podcasts, and we kick off 2024 with a look at a 35 year-old arcade stunner. Leon, Chris Worthington, Michiel and Sean dash and slash their way through Capcom's coin-op of choreographed set-pieces, Strider Hiryu. Along with contributions from the Cane and Rinse community, we also investigate Strider's precursors, ports, the spin-offs and successors.Music featured in this issue:1.  Wild Beast by Junko Tamiya2. Great show, good to have you all back after the break! I must admit, whilst I didn't do it with the arcade version, whilst playing the Megadrive version via the Switch online service I did enable the turbo fire button on my Hori Split Pad to make quick work of the final boss who was giving me a real headache. Not sure it made a huge amount of difference, mind. I found the harshest enemy in this game to be the time limit, funnily enough. I lost quite a few lives just because I was going too slow!

My arcade knowledge is low and I appreciate C+R highlighting these games for the context and history. Played through this on the Capcom Stadium and enjoyed it and started the 2014 one and found it fun as well.
