Adds a "Preserve It" interaction on all food and drinks. This interaction makes the food go into a state where it can't decay, can't be eaten, but can exist in your home without ever going bad or being thrown away.
Sims are forbidden from taking servings, packing into sack lunches, getting food for toddlers, serving cakes, etc. They can still do a few special interactions like adding birthday candles, modifying garnishes (ice cream), and even taking pictures of experimental food. Sims cannot use any interactions on food that might result in them being eaten, like blowing out birthday candles. Decorative cakes only!
Wedding's over? Save the rest of the wedding cake, forever, as a decoration! Made some experimental food? Slap a film of lacquer on that bad boy and keep it forever. Just want a table to look full of food all the time? Here you go!
A table full of experimental food, that's purely decorative! All the special effects on the food still play. It just never gets old, can't be eaten, and can't be thrown away! You can even preserve drinks, making them decoration for your bars, or leave them on the table so your sims always look like they have a drink with their meal. Preserved food can be put in your inventory like any other food! So feel free to go out for dinner and take home a souvenir.
You can even preserve partially eaten food! Save your wedding cake! Save that pizza from the first night you woohoo'd! Do whatever dumbass stuff you want, I'm not a cop!
There is a base game interaction for chefs that locks freshness, but it doesn't prevent sims from eating/trashing/etc the food, so this works differently.
Preserving spoiled food is also possible, if you want to do that for some reason. Sims will not react negatively to preserved spoiled food. Un-preserving it will keep it spoiled. When food is preserved, its spoil timer is paused, and will restore itself exactly where it was if you choose to un-preserve.
Thanks to Lot51 for walking me through the process of making object states!
