idk man download it and find out.

Please stop asking me this. I've gotten like 15 comments like this in the last week. If a mod is up and the post doesn't say it's currently experiencing issues it's probably not currently experiencing issues. Unless YOU are experiencing issues, and have an issue to report, then the mod works. I have literal hundreds of mods at this point. I check on them after patches. If there has not been a recent patch assume a mod is updated (and if no update is reported, it didn't need to be) and works and if something's wrong then tell me if something's wrong.

Reading comprehension and common sense go a long way, am I right? Ah who am I kidding, both of those went the way of the dodo years ago. It's only gotten worse with all this "smart" shit. Why think, when devices do it for us? Anyway, RTFM people. Stop nagging poor Waffle.

my rule of thumb that's worked pretty well so far is to see if there's any comments on the mod from someone saying it doesn't work. if there aren't any new comments saying it doesn't work, i just give it a go. sometimes i end up being the person to comment saying it doesn't work, but i really don't think it should be on the modder to test every single little mod they may have for every single update.

Personally I've never downloaded a Sims mod and wondered "Does this still work?" because yeah if there's an issue a comment will probably say and if there's no updates after an update and the modder is active, then they've probably checked it. It's not like Sims 4 is a game like, say, Cities Skylines, where half the mods are broken, half the broken mods are the ideal versions to use, half the new versions are more broken than the "broken" versions, and the comments are a must-read to get any context for what you're doing, even outside of a mod manager designed to warn you of problems and incompatibilities where half the warnings are actually technically wrong or up to user preference. Sims 4's a "put the mod in and if it doesnt work you can tell" game, it's plug and play!

So umm does this mod still work?

Marie King

Ok couldnt resist , but in some stupid question askers defense, if you have a ton sometimes figuring out whats wrong can be hard.. and for that matter whats right even. some of us have a slight umm downloading problem....i can stop whenever i want to! Really!

I've seen so many people on reddit after an update of TS4 with "why does my game do this" and it's always an outdated mod and it annoys me so much. TS4 already is the easiest game to mod to begin with, all you need to do is read the instructions, update and otherwise wait for an update. The amount of times I helped and got back "but I have no mods" and they always end up having the UI mod. Please people, read first, update when needed and if you have issues THEN you can go to the creator. Saves so much hassle.

I am a part of a lot of Sims FB groups and the lack of resourcefulness pertaining to this query really irks me. There are more than a million ways to find out on your own.

There are plenty of places like Scarlets where you can check on this and I feel that having a lot of mods also means being cognizant of the responsibility it takes to maintain them.

Marie King

Hah for sure, its a royal pain, but cant live without em! I try periodically... they creep back in lol

Marie King

Scarlets is awesome resource, but I guess I was thinking more about older mods then recently updated ones, there's some older ones when it isnt always clear..I actually rarely ask any questions cause I dont like to pester people (/ω\)

Who Knows

I get tired from constantly hearing people ask about it and I'm not even a modder lmfao I can't imagine what that's like when you ACTIVELY have people approaching you about 100+ mods T-T my condolences. I hope people listen. (but we all know they won't xD)
