This is provable, documented behavior. It takes. Ten. God. Damn. Days. To go from maxed satisfaction to minimum satisfaction, if your Sims don't so much as breathe in the same room with each other.

If your Romantic Satisfaction is going down too fast, YOUR! SIMS! ARE! NOT! COMPATIBLE! OR! ARE! DOING! THINGS! THEY! DON'T! LIKE!

That's why that crap is turned off in my game - PERIOD. A lot of the really annoying things EA does in the SIMS is, in my humble opinion, something someone a little off, at the company finds amusing.
