AUDIO PODCAST!

It's not the After Show, but it's our first thoughts and immediate reactions to seeing the season finale of THE ACOLYTE. Did the finale satisfy? Were all the main issues raised throughout the season wrapped up? And what does the future have in store, if any, for THE ACOLYTE? F.J. DeSanto joins us for a "first blush" review and reactions.

Was this advertised as a possible addition

Get your weapon of choice ready, and drink every time FJ says, "...and all that sh**." 🍺

I agree completely with Jason. Plagious was the high point. If story continues needs a new team

Sean Lee (UK)

Loved the reveal and again agree with the above, story needs a new team!

The story in this series is good but it's badly told. It should have been a movie with an experienced director. I'm sad now the past and future of Star Wars don't suit me and I feel like I'm stuck in the prelogy and trilogy eras and Star Wars is kind of ending for me :(

I usually fall asleep on the couch after watching TV unless the wife yells for me to come up. Put YouTube on after the Acolyte and to my surprise woke up and caught 75 percent of the guys talking about the episode. Good first reaction. Looking forward to the full debrief Monday. This was a series that tried for something. Whether it was executed well. That's another thing entirely. I'm cleansing the pallet tonight seeing "A New Hope" at a local revival theater.

Loved hearing the analysis. Missed the tag at the end of the outro music.

I don't know if anyone has thrown this idea out there but here goes: The Sith Lord that we saw is NOT Darth Plagueis. Qimir ends up being Darth Plagueis and uses Osha and May as a means to discover how to create life. And the Sith Master we see in the last episode is actually Darth Tenebrous.

Terry Wilson

Yeah! This was not an after show so where was the tagline at Jimmy? LOL. We LOVE the taglines at the end

Santi Nemo

Nice idea, but the showrunner has explicitly said it was Darth Plagueis, Terry.

I’m a regular listener and recent patron. Just getting around to these last few acolyte after shows due to being bummed by the back half of the season. I loved the first five episodes of the show and I’m a big fan of the High republic era as a whole. So this really should have been up my alley. But I came away from it really confused by the way this show wrapped up. I fall in line with Jason more in the sense of questioning what was the point. Osha was our main hero character and it felt like we were supposed to be rooting for Mae to give herself up for her and cheering when she killed Sol but I was left just sort of shocked and like “this is it?” It felt all too quick and I look back at the whole journey now like what did we just see? Maybe it’ll get better when I rewatch it or some ancillary material comes out. But just wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks for the great discussions
