I also noticed the ESB vibe when the twins escaped through the tunnel. They missed a perfect opportunity to bring in a Babu Frik to erase Mae’s memory. 😂

Thanks for this special, guys, your voice was very much appreciated after that (to me) very disappointing finale to a plain bad series. I'm following Jason's example and doing an Andor rewatch and... man, the difference! Acolyte is so much worse in comparison is kind of amazing it was even made by the same studio (though if I remember correctly and according to the detailed reports that Jimmy Mac brilliantly put together when doing Andor's post-mortem forensic analysis, Gilroy and his UK team were left pretty much alone while making it and maybe that's why they're so different). I swear The Acolyte has all the signs of a Michelle Rejwan production. And that's really bad.

The finale surprised me with how many itches it scratched. 👍 Qimir’s age is a mystery. I think Plagueis has been extending his life. So I think it’s clear that Plagueis is very invested in Qimir as his apprentice. 🤔

I’m with Jason on a lot of the show. After reflecting on the entire series it lacks a hero that resonates with the audience. Star Wars is a modern myth and breaking away from that can be done for other shows but that’s not what Star Wars was built on. I also feel there was too much of an effort to make it seem like the sith weren’t that bad. Just misunderstood. OSHA and Qimir holding hands was a the focal point of that for me. A different perspective of Darth Maul would still show a bad dude lol Can shows have complex, morally muddy characters. Absolutely. But the writing and execution need to be top notch. Even more so for a franchise built on the internal and external battles between good and evil.
