JMac here. I like to add photos to text-only posts just for fun. Keeps thing colorful.

That's me and some random guy in front of a statue of Danny Devito at Big Rock Ranch, now former home to Lucas Animation. Nice dude. Didn't catch his name. I remember he liked hockey a lot. I've lost weight since then.

OK...On to business...

What does everyone think of our current tier system? I'm thinking of a revamp, nothing major...Maybe nothing more than new tier names and artwork. Is there something that you think might work better for everyone? Or should we keep the status quo? Let me know! Post suggestions below and we can discuss.

I'm cool with the tier system how it currently is

DanielA

Can we get a tier were we recieve a signed steve glosson nude on glossy?

Travis Morgan

Hey there, Jimmy Mac! I just recently started supporting y'all (around 4am this morning, to be specific), and I've gotta say - as someone who's been looking from the outside in for quite a long time - everything looks and sounds exactly how I hoped it would! However, my only two gripes are as follows: I think it's a little unclear as to which tier you need to be in order to access the Clone Wars Declassifieds (although maybe that was just for me), and I think that the all-black logo used for the show's main art looks much better compared to what is used for the Patreon feed. I'm sure the second issue is only because 1) I've listened so long without Patreon and have just come to associate the other art with the show and 2) you needed some way to differentiate the two at a glance, but I still think something along the lines of changing the art for the Patreon feed icon would be kinda cool. Anyway, love you guys, have for a long time, and eagerly await whatever comes next! Thanks!

You need a new tier add-on, “Billy Mac Bargain Basement”, where 50% of the addon contributions go directly to BMac, so he can develop a website, podcast, or Soda-pop stand. We’ve gotta get behind BMac. So sad at the end of an episode because the poor guy has nothing to plug. Put me down for an extra Galactic Credit. #EmpireDidNothingWrong.

I like what’s out there now but how about a couple additional items like: Patreon only voicemail at the higher tiers, ability to add pictures to posts on this site at higher tiers. Trying to think of additional items that would be cool for higher tiers but not cost you guys a lot more money.

I like it. Please keep adding content to YouTube. You have such a massive back catalog of quality content it is a shame you aren't getting max exposure. The way the algorithm works, get your tags/descriptions right you guys would zoom to the top in no time at all.

EJ

I believe you are leaving money on the table by not creating a more enticing higher level tier. Access to the two of you by being part of the shows, exclusive dinners or - I don’t know - meet ups at Disney or Celebration or wherever. The two of you are cement trietes

Michael McManus

I like the tiers the way are now personally. Changing some of the artwork for the tiers wouldn’t be bad though. Just to mix it up.

EJ

hmmm.....not sure what happened there. Any way, the two of you are celebrities and you can monetize that. Sure it is not for everyone but some people can shell out $50 or $100 per month and therefore you should seize on that opportunity. Think big!!

Really enjoy the current system. With that said, I'm always down for new artwork

I'm not sure there's a difference between the $10 and the $11.38 tier. Might be something to tweak.

Ryan Johnk

How about a shout out tier where you give us a shout out by name on the show or call us randomly by surprise?

Rebel Force Radio

We are making Clone Wars: Declassified available in the RFR Rewind Tier. Season two kicks off this week. I'm thinking about renaming the RFR Rewind Tier to RFR Clone Warrior.

Rebel Force Radio

All good ideas. The adding picture to posts...I have no idea how to make that happen. I wish everyone could post photos, etc. Not sure why you can't. Does anyone know about this?

Rebel Force Radio

My archive project is getting more and more intense. I'm loving the flexibility YouTube and Patreon gives me to re-purpose specific show moments and create an online reference base for all the interviews, Billy Dee Quotes, Filoni Files, Wacky Moments...Everything.

Benjamin Figueroa

Left a comment but it doesn’t appear to have gone through? Anyway, I suggested bringing the top tier down to $11.38 and replacing the Q&A with a drawing every week or two to get a phone call from you guys for 15-20 minutes to pick your brains and talk Star Wars without the pressure of a recorded show. I think the extra volume that would generate would earn you more income than the current $50 level.

Travis Morgan

Now that'd be cool! Heck, maybe you could even say "Clone Veteran" or something, since it's all about looking back/revisiting old shows. Either way, thanks for the reply.

Rebel Force Radio

I'll hang out with anyone to talk RFR and Star Wars. That feels a little weird for me to sell myself that way. I'm just a fan. People come to the Chicago area, or are locals, and I meet up with them at Galloping Ghost arcade all the time. Sometimes Billy Mac, John Marcoux or Cris Macht is with me. I'm fine with leaving money on the table. I value friendship more.

Rebel Force Radio

I try to save the super-rare audio for the RFR All-Access Tier. My goal is to release a panel, interview, press conference, concert...Something rare that I recorded myself from various Star Wars media events over the years about once per month. But there is little difference between the two tiers you mentioned...I just wanted to have an 1138 tier. :)

Robert Chapman, aka RGC2005

I am no expert. To get you started there is a site called Social Blade (free) that can help you focus your social media efforts and compare yourself to your competition. Reach out to Youtubers you respect for guidance, subscribe to many more you don't. You guys, Star Wars Explained, Star Wars Theory, Comicbook Girl19 and Hello Greedo are my neutral favorites. Jeff at Good Morning Pop Culture is new and exploding. He even answers email and DMs. He would be my choice if I needed help. Last thing, get an unpaid Intern you can trust to do the listening, time coding, tagging so you guys can focus on building your new EMPIRE!!!!!

EJ

Understood and I appreciate that and you should never let go of your core values. My point was merely that you could monetize high level access at the highest tier levels, not unlike the more exclusive dinner in Chicago. Obviously from a business perspective it is healthy and wise to grow the $11.38 per month base, but I would not discount the idea of making the highest levels more attractive. Just a thought. Thanks for asking!

SO happy to see that RFR is staying above the 600-patron level, and by quite a bit. But then I was surprised to hear an Audible ad in the latest show. Are ads coming back, or was that a one-off? As to the question asked, I am no expert on Patreon but I do support another podcast that seems to be killing it on Patreon. They're over 777 donors, and rake in more than 3k a month. They have 3 tiers. Lowest tier is $2 and includes ad-free show, access to show notes, name on thank-you portion of their website, and ability to listen in live and chat while show is recorded each week. Middle tier at $5 includes access to special private FB group, priority to submit discussion topics, a yearly physical gift (we've had t-shirts, mugs, etc), and a monthly bonus episode. Top tier of $10 includes ability to be selected to co-host an episode, monthly Google hangout with hosts, and ability to enter monthly raffle for some random fandom-related merchandise.

Adam Taylor

I’m very happy as it is. To be honest I’d pay $11.38 just for the main show. Keep up the amazing work.

Rebel Force Radio

We went ad-free for a long time. even on months we were well under 600. We've only been able to maintain 600 a little more steadily the over last couple of months. Because of our amazing Patreon support, we have not been searching out new ad deals and we cancelled a contract renewal with an agency that was placing up to three ads per show. We are leaving a lot of ad money on the table. Audible was our very first client, going back to 2008, They've been with us for a long time. We have a deal with them to place ads on a few shows this year. They have shown us support for a long time so we didn't want to turn them away. And there might be a few more clients like that to drop ads on the show this year. But not many. Keeping ads very limited and not often.

Timmy Barrow

Honestly, I may be in the minority here...but the ads don't bother me. I prefer knowing that the show is in good financial shape and will be around for years to come. If that means having an ad a show...that's cool...no sweat. I think Jared has a good point when it comes to other little perks. Maybe when someone subscribes to the $11.38 tier they receive an RFR logo sticker/bumpersticker or something. Something that could easily be mass produced and wouldn't cost all that much. Maybe the $50 tier you get an exclusive t-shirt a year as well. Or maybe make a $30 t-shirt tier. BTW, we need more people to subscribe to that Q&A level! I love those shows, they are full of great discusssions and I need more lol. I'd do it myself, but I'm afraid I'd curse or say something too politically incorrect and get the show in hot water hahah.

Dave McCormick

On my flowers, stepped you did, young pandawan Filoni!

Brendon B

Love what you guys do. It would be cool if one of the tiers did open up an option for a google hangout or a once a month tier only live call where you guys can field questions for 30 minutes or just talk about something rad. I’m currently an $11.38 all access member and would absolutely pay a bit more for an opportunity like that.

Isaac Alexander

Personal I think it’s great to annually evaluate the tiers to see if they’re performing the best for all parties involved. I’ve been on the $5 monthly tier since it’s started and it got better as time went on. For me I’m quite satisfied with what I’m subscribing too. I’d love to interview JimmyMac and Jason individually on a patreon exclusive show but I’ll have to see how things unfold this year.
