Joshua Carter

Definitely always been a fan of vulgarity. Bring it J Mac!

Ian savage

Show the clip!!!! Bring on the naughty words lol

Eric from Phoenix

Can’t wait to listen while I run today. Matt and Jimmy are always fun to listen to.

Eric from Phoenix

Great episode. The term “random” would be an understatement when Matt and JMac get together. This is what makes these Q and As sooo much fun. Ending on why Greg Brady got orange hair? Loved it!! I try not to curse but I’m all for showing JMac getting emotional at the end of TROS.

Jared Cantor

Wasn't it Solo who said to Rey and Finn that a student (ie Ben) destroyed the temple and took off with some students? So a) Han may just have not known what happened exactly, or b) in the Kylo comic we see some students persue Ben so Han may have confused the facts

w. greg simmons

Great episode. And I vote yes to the clip!

Nick Whenham

Really cool show! Thanks Jimmy and Matt. And yeah Jimmy - post the clip!

Matt Rashid

You could be right, Jared! I may be confusing the two backstory scenes (Han/Rey and Luke/Rey). It does line up, either way, I just found it to be less satisfying as an interpretation.

Jamie Bruno

Yes please for the vulgarity!

Jimmy, great Q&A, but.......I HAVE TO push back on your comment that Marcia Lucas "...was sleeping around on George...."  She has vehemently denied this, stating that their marriage had been in "tatters" well before she left him & that GL has used the "affair" as an excuse to not take responsibility for the state of his marriage.  This is something we've seen GL do in RE: to SW; conveniently rewriting the past instead of being responsible for what was, that is.  YES, she did marry a Glass Artist contractor, right after the divorce, who was working for GL during the construction of Skywalker Ranch (he did the "grand stained-glass skylight" in the library).  Here's an image of the skylight: (https://web.archive.org/web/20101007012424im_/http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/lucasfilm_library_thumb.jpg) Here is an Internet Archive site link (https://web.archive.org/web/20100304190426/http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/marcialucas.html) that catalogs an "In Tribute to Marcia Lucas" addition to "The Secret History of Star Wars" by Michael Kaminski (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this article for any serious SW fan, its a good read).  You can Text Search the article where she states she was "..physically faithful.." to GL during their marriage.  I KNOW this comes off as Splitting Hairs, but I've never read an article or quote from GL (or anyone) who said Marcia was "...sleeping around..."  It's one thing to be "emotionally separated" in a "broken" marriage & to emotionally respond to an "available man" who she was working w/ (Marcia was largely overseeing contractors & the construction of Skywalker Ranch while GL was busy).  It's another thing though to assert that Marcia was "...sleeping around...." during her marriage, something which is a "fairly serious accusation" to make about a woman.   If you're aware of any verified info (anecdote, comment, or reference) of her sleeping around, then I think it should be noted & put out there.  Even GL in the 60 Minutes interview in which he openly discussed Marcia leaving him, (his comments are in the linked article) he never said Marcia was "...sleeping around..."  An assertion of a married woman sleeping around creates a very vivid impression of a sexually promiscuous & wanton woman who destroys an otherwise healthy marriage, therefore turning the husband (GL) into a poor victim.  In essence, this is GL's final take on his marriage as he has conveniently left that impression to remain out there, because of his intentional silence. I just wanted to call this all out because I think Marcia Lucas truly added so much, including heart, to the OT that would not have been their; not to mention her Oscar winning editing (she suggested the killing-off of Obi-Wan, convinced GL to keep the "Chewie roaring at the Mouse Droid" & the "kiss for luck" part of the rope swing scenes when he was going to cut them out, & completely Re-Edited & Re-Focused the narrative of the ANH End Battle at a time when "..it was a mess...").  I by no means am suggesting that Marcia was a saint; if there is ANY supporting info that Marcia "..slept around on GL.." then it should come out since (sadly) over the years it has become part of "the narrative".  In the end, I would hate for such a reprehensible, unsupported assertion against Marcia Lucas to tarnish her contributions & well deserved part in the SW legacy.  Biographer Dale Pollock's take on Marcia, "Marcia was George Lucas' secret weapon.."

Rebel Force Radio

Despite all the words you typed, she had an affair (no quote marks necessary) and slept with another man while her husband, George, was making RoTJ. Thus, she was sleeping around. I guess if you want to decipher that to mean she had many partners, that's not what I meant. One is enough. She screwed him over.

Chris Hansford

Just from what you’ve stated here...If it looks like a Duck and Quacks like a Duck...GL couldn’t be fooled again!

Rebel Force Radio

Page 289 from the Secret History of Star Wars, the very book I referenced when I made the "sleeping around" statement: "Although he planned on semi-retiring to be with his wife and (2 year old) daughter, it was too late - the emotional distance between them had been festering for some time, and in George's absence, Marcia had already fallen in love with another man. With George off shooting Return of the Jedi, Lucas turned supervising the still under construction Skywalker Ranch to Marcia; the beautiful library was garnished with a stunning stained-glass domed roof, which was designed by an artist named Tom Rodriguez. Marcia began seeing him."

Rebel Force Radio

So, as you can see above, she clearly started messing around with Rodriguez when still married to George. With a 2 year old daughter at home who she eventually left George with. He was looking to get his family life and marriage back on track, but her affair derailed all of that. I don't just say things out of my ass into a microphone unless I know what I'm talking about. So, this has become nothing but a conversation about the semantics concerning my use of the phrase "sleeping around". Marcia was certainly sleeping around with another man. Doesn't have to indicate the number of partners. Like I said as a guy whose been faithfully married since 1997, it only takes one to be a deal-breaker. There is no evidence of GL ever being unfaithful to her as well.

Rebel Force Radio

And one other thing! :) This is merely a conversation about the behind-the-scenes history of Star Wars and access to whatever info we have. I can separate Marcia's contributions to the saga from her infidelities. I doubt George Lucas in his prime was easy to live with and probably cold as ice. I get it, but I don't excuse her cheating on him. And I will always appreciate the creative touch she added to Star Wars.

Javier Solorzano

Well.... I'm comfortable with the comments I originally left, and the references footnoted from a well regarded reference to Star Wars history that is considered authoritative. To double down on something that has no backing is a questionable thing to do. Semantics......are words & words do mean something. "..sleeping around..." asserts very clearly a Sexual Relationship; not even GL said that; nor any other documented assertion of that. Again, from Kaminski's copyrighted website addition earlier referenced,"...Marcia swore to me, though, that while she was attracted to Rodriguez and later married him, she never had a physical affair with him when she was still with George." When the marriage was dead she asked for the divorce (GL didn't) & in that she had integrity instead of truly being unfaithful & sleeping around. Love RFR....one of the few shows that sticks its neck out there.

Rebel Force Radio

There is such a thing as emotional infidelity. Cheating can be defined in other ways than purely sexual terms. She cheated on him, plain and simple. He clearly didn’t want the divorce, and it seemed Marcia herself declared the marriage dead once she found another man. He trusted her to oversee his dream project, Skywalker Ranch, and she used it as an opportunity to find someone else and stab him in the back, leaving him high and dry with a 2 year old daughter. He had stated many times during the making of Jedi that he was going to step back from filmmaking to focus on his family. Marcia never allowed him the opportunity and she committed adultery. She’s a cheater and has no integrity in my book. I’m so happy George was able to rebound with the Linda Ronstandt. He deserved to be with a superstar after being betrayed by someone he totally had faith in.

Javier Solorzano

Thanks Jimmy for the solid back & forth debate....I do understand your opinion, where your coming from. You & Jason have a good week off......we'll be looking forward to your return.

Tyler Page

I’m extraordinarily late to this but Jimmy needs to post this clip of him experiencing the end of the saga!
