Another RFR Early Bird Release!

F.J. DeSanto - TRANSFORMERS producer, STAR WARS superfan, and longtime friend of RFR -  joins us to share his critical thoughts on the now-completed sequel trilogy. We also talk about THE MANDALORIAN and F.J. lays down some predictions on where the future of the STAR WARS franchise is heading. Plus, he shares some cool behind-the-scenes info about TRANSFORMERS: THE WAR FOR CYBERTRON, now on Netflix. Master Yoda has a new look in recently revealed artwork for the upcoming STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC publishing launch and we review his spiffy new threads. Will we see Boba Fett in THE MANDALORIAN season two? We speculate! Also, we review RANCHO OBI-WAN’s Virtual Star Wars Celebration live stream! Between this and machtails im set for the early weekend Im lucky enough to enjoy!

Jared Cantor

FJ? Oh this is gonna be good!

Eric from Phoenix

I can confirm that “magic eight ball Yoda” exists and I own one. The only issue is he’s packed away in our storage unit. Also, I couldn’t agree more with FJ on the Solo movie. I loved it and want to see more. It’s perfectly set up for more fun adventures (Marvel comic books but live action). Okay, back to listening.

Ben P. Stein

This was pure gold! I love FJ’s idea that Boba Fett in the Mandalorian might be different from the original and someone who stole the armor. That would be a great parallel to the idea that the Mandalorians in the series are no longer the original Mandalorians but the followers of a sect.

Matthew Dillingham

Fair enough😂😂 this is my first new episode as an all access member so i wasn’t sure when it dropped

Blake Weaver

What a interview!!! FJ spoke perfectly on the sequel trilogy. Great Star Wars talk! Definitely gonna watch his Transformers show over the weekend.

Peter Beisser

I love that F.J. is unbleepable. Not even worth trying or we'd miss half of his side of the convo.

John Riley

I know this is FJ this week, but have you given up bleeping RFR episodes, even for the non-Patreon download? There are younglings out there!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Oh yeah! Man, Solo encapsulates the spirit or essence of Star Wars so well. Might have to watch it again soon after this conversation. :) Dying for news they're gonna take the story to Disney Plus soon!

Sean W. from Warsaw

I've wondered about that for a long time, now.... I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, sometimes. I love the old EU, and am familiar with both Jaster Mereel and Jodo Kast. But trying to bring it back is kinda 50-50 for me. But I like the idea of people trying to be this legendary figure. Vying with each other and all that for the top spot. Could be interesting if done right.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Yeah, I'm the same. I'm kinda used to it, but at the same time this is RFR! But FJ's great all the same. Reminds me of a crazy uncle or something sometimes. :) But seriously, RFR, work on that censorship! :P

So, like Jimmy Mac, I have also been wanting to watch TLJ again for some time. The interview with FJ only entices me more to revisit that film. But I've been wanting to rewatch the whole ST. Been processing over a ton of stuff. Alot of stuff gets on my nerves something fierce, but then there's all this other stuff I really like or have more or less gotten over. FJ's analysis of the ST has offered some good insight worthy of reflection and another watch.

Eric from Phoenix

Finally got through the rest of the episode. Great job guys! I like FJ’s thoughts on the Mandalorian season two, however, I disagree on Boba Fett. Way too much work (sound effects) pointing that the unknown character is Bobs Fett. I hope it’s him and we see him go out in a much more cinematic way. Maybe he does and someone else picks up his armor to carry on the legacy? Kind of like Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride. Or maybe something like Jasteer Mateel ot Jodo Cast from the old Eu stuff.

Philip Ehlke

I’m not much of a collector but I enjoy hearing you guys talk about it. I gotta hear a defense of the idea of killing of Boba Fett because I think it’s all but confirmed in the current canon that he survived the Sarlacc, which is something you could have inferred based on the film alone—although the added beak appendage in the SE does make Sarlacc survival seem a bit less likely. I just think Boba is one of those characters where if you leave the slightest bit of room, they’ll find some way to resurrect him. The Boba Fett-imposter plotline will probably be worked in as well, since that concept already exists in Legends.

Kirk Leppert

I really enjoyed Jason’s nod to The Andy Griffith show when they went to the voicemail this week. Anyone else catch it? One of my fav tv shows (besides Mandalorian, of course).

Federico

Thank you Jimmy & Jason for another great podcast! The thoughts and insights of mr. De Santo are always well appreciated on my part. Be well, everybody!

Nick Whenham

Great interview! Really enjoyed this and it's great to have FJ back. Thanks guys!

Brian Robinson

Now I want to know why FJ got kicked off Twitter. I know he was pretty blunt about his thoughts on the current administration, not sure if there is more to it. Great episode guys. I have two more episodes of Transformers: WFC Siege to go. I also like the weathering/damage on each of the characters. I think they're well done and will all change over time, as they draw closer to the end of the arc.

Steven Jimenez

Fun to come back to these classic episodes!!!
