RFR VIP Matt Rashid is back to talk more Star Wars Public Radio Drama, this time it's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. We talk about the cool extended scenes, funny moments, and other highlights from the 1983 NPR broadcast written by Brian Daley. Plus, we talk about another Daley-penned Star Wars audio story REBEL MISSION TO ORD MANTEL, and some behind-the-scenes talk about The Smuggler Series live audio drama.

Any shot you'd be able to make the Smugglers series a release for the Patreon Pals, JMac? Probably LFL red tape though, no? Just not sure where they all are these days.

Chut-chut Jimmy! Been loving these revisits. My parents still have the cassettes at their house and I have fond memories of listening to them on a family road trip to Washington DC. I was lucky enough to get the MP3 downloads from audible when it first launched several years ago.

And of course I jumped the gun. You guys do tackle this on the episode. Great show, Matt. Been listening to the radio dramas on YouTube when I can't sleep now. Which is often considering the world at the moment.

Matt / JMac, great show as always. A couple thoughts / comments: 1) I loved the new opening scene and the refreshments with Vader additions, 2) I believe Perry King played Han in the first two radio dramas (not sure on Jedi), 3) Veers was killed in the shooting script (deleted scene on Disney+) but I’m not sure if that is actual canon, 4) I just thought Vader tortured Han to be evil but while listening to you guys I now think Vader did that to draw Luke to Cloud City. Was that discussed in the commentary or book? Not sure that’s an original thought by me.

JMac, that’s what the deleted scene shows. I also think it might have been mentioned the Empire Strikes Back trade paperback I had as a kid. It’s in our storage unit so I can’t check. This is what I remember, although, I can’t remember what I did yesterday.
