I’m not surprised he didn’t, but for a second I thought Mando was going to let Cobb keep the armor at the end.

Brett

Loved this episode. Every minute. I thought all the close ups of the banthas were cool too. And the krayt dragon was awesome!

Casey Lambert

The Krayt Dragon pearl was also one of the lightsaber crystal upgrades in Knights of the old Republic also...but man that would be a big a!$ lightsaber...

Eric from Phoenix

Great aftershow and thanks for taking my call. This chapter was a a little slow for me at the start but I liked Cobb and hope we see him again. The last quarter of the show was amazing along with the Boba Fett reveal. Loved the call out to Star Wars Galaxies video game and can’t wait for next week.

DarthMosk

Great episode, great production value, and great call-In questions. Thank you guys so much! Can’t wait for the rest of the season!

Brian Robinson

Wow, this episode was such a spaghetti western. Unite the town folk with the natives to battle against an unstoppable foe, a showdown in a bar, having a town meeting to convince them to take action, the dialogue and accent from The Marshall. I almost expected them to paint the town red and put a badge on Baby Yoda.

Peter Beisser

I was saying in the show chat that I almost look more forward to the show after the show where we all talk about the first show. Seriously. 😜 And RIP Sean Connery. Without him, there wouldn't be franchises like SW. He was the best.

Eric from Phoenix

After watching the episode another three times last night I noticed that they added spur sound effects to the Mando’s steps when he gets to Mos Pelgo. I don’t believe he had those last year. Could be just a nod to the Western genre and only for episode 1 of season 2? Also, the Sand People always rode single file in the chapter, to and from Mos Pelgo. Just like Obi-Wan references in A New Hope.

Antonio from NJ

Man whish I could have made the live show so much to say... But first and foremost @eric from Phoenix...we love you but in the knights of the old republic...a krayt dragon was pronounced as a "crate" dragon.

David Fieldsend

It was very much a western, but also struck me as a story straight from Arthurian legend. It demonstrated Mando’s progression from being a straight up bounty hunter at the start of season 1. He’s now a knight on a quest, using his skill and training to spread hope, make friends at every turn, and leaving every situation he encounters better than he found it, literally slaying dragons as he goes. The difference is Baby Yoda, and it must be the steady, quiet influence of the lightside of the Force that channels through Baby Yoda. How easily could the Mandalorian have just killed the Marshall and taken the armor? That he agreed to take on the dragon and unite warring factions is pretty remarkable. He’s almost a Jedi in his focus and effect. With this kind of character progression, and with the Dark Saber being revealed at the end of season 1, I think uniting the Mandalorian with the Dark Saber and him then uniting Mandalore seems almost inevitable. It was an awesome episode!

Eric from Phoenix

Hahah, I never played that game. In Galaxies everyone I grouped with pronounced it the way I said it. Same thing for my wife. I’m sure they/we had it wrong but it’s etched in my memory :)

Eric from Phoenix

Wow, great points that I had never thought of about the episode. I do think you could be correct on the dark saber uniting the Mandalorians.

David Fieldsend

Thanks, and good call in! After watching this episode, I was thinking that if you replaced the Mando with Obi-wan in this episode, this seemed like a Clone Wars standalone. That's what made me think of the Mando as essentially a Jedi knight, or a classic Arthurian knight, battling a dragon.

Eric from Phoenix

Many Banthas died to bring us this pearl.....Sorry, had to do it.

Jim from Sweden

Darn. Couldn't make it to the live broadcast. But it seems you had a great time.

Jim from Sweden

I will throw myself into the aftershow now to hear what you all talked about. ... and bye mr. Bond. You are missed!

Brian Robinson

Jason and Jimmy, are you guys going to do a Bondcast show special for Sean Connery?

William Parks

Is there a schedule for these live shows?

William Parks

nevermind. They say in the podcast. Subscribe to youtube channel to get alerts when they go live on friday nights.

Jim from Sweden

I didnt hear any comments on Mos Pelos(?) Looking almost mobile. All on temporary pads, like pallets. The explisives and gear also looked like it was on some kind of temporary/movable house. Or maybe just isolated... it was explosives after all.

Jim from Sweden

And the Gamorrean power axes. It was slightly ... family friendly. And they held them weirdly. And the electric discharging. I thought it was personal shields or something. Reminded me of Dune too even before the krayt dragon appeared. Also the gamorreans had quite slender frames compared to Jabbas guards. And their masks looked a bit like ... masks.

Josh Carter

Actors of that class are going exctinct😩, at least we've still got Harrison Ford and Robert Redford

Josh Carter

In response to the comments made on aliens speaking basic or subtitled languages I just wanted to point out the obvious and state that George was a genius to give us Threepio so he could do a deep dive on alien dialects. I miss the golden rod and his game changing protocol capabilities. Was he the only protocol droid in a galaxy far far away?

Eric from Phoenix

I couldn’t figure out how the Gamorrean guards weren’t hurting each other when they actually hit parts of their body.

Eric from Phoenix

It’s funny, my wife and I were just taking about the lack of droids in this show. They’re there but they are background characters versus main characters.

Johan Wolfs

I was really surprised Jaws wasn’t mentioned during the show. To me the episode almost seemed like an homage to Jaws with some really obvious references to the shark movie

Rebel Force Radio

IG-11 and Zero certainly played big roles in S1. As for Threepio, I couldn't agree more. When we made Smuggler's Bounty, I really wanted Threepio translating for Artoo because I felt we missed that in Smuggler's Gambit. Beep Beep Beep...."He says..." Essential Star Wars!

Grayson Owens

Haha, I was just about to comment about KOTOR, there was a whole mission in that game where you had to kill the Krayt dragon and you could put the pearl in your light saber. There's a whole thing with the Tusken's as well. This episode gave me mad KOTOR vibes.

Grayson Owens

Eric, Galaxies was the best! I was devastated when they dropped official support for it. I do play SWTOR now though and I love it but man, it just isn't the same.

Steven M DuBrey

Every thing everyone else pointed out! Yes yes YES we are back!!!! I loved when Mando slapped the back of Cobbs jet pack to send him careening out of the path of the dragon. Great ROTJ nod. Also the huge cross face scar for Boba and sarlacc acid burns. That’s an old expanded universe nod as well. Comic images of Boba without his helmet had that scar.

Steven M DuBrey

Also: in reference to Jimmy’s speculation of a Boba v Mando showdown. The armor alone would be reason enough as Boba isn’t a Mandolorian.

Antonio from NJ

Id love to see that Jango was in fact a mando but was cast out because of Jangos choice. And since Boba is a clone they didn't see him as a "true" mando either. Its be a good way to challenge mandos belief system, much like Anakins belief in the jedi being challenged.

Laura Chambers

Until last season I didn’t know that it was possible for Boba to be alive. I grew up in the 90s and my Dad is a purist on the movies so I wasn’t introduced to any of the books where it talks about Boba not being dead. To give you an idea on how serious he is about just going by the movies, it was a big deal when I decided to watch Clone Wars. 🤣 I started researching it myself and have started to look into the books more. Excited for how they will bring his story together this season! I thought maybe at one time it could be Rex and they would bring Rex and Ahsoka back together but now I hope they hold that reunion for an Ahsoka spin-off.

Eric from Phoenix

Right on! I played from Beta 3 until the night they shut it down. So many fond memories and the Mandalorian makes me think back to Galaxies all of the time. Ahazi server for me.

Eric from Phoenix

They will definitely be fighting over the armor at some point. We will see Boba Fett go out in a blaze of glory versus falling into the Sarlacc. The only question I have is why didn’t Fett get his armor back? Maybe it’s because he wanted to lay low and not get anyone in the New Republic on his tail. Like let’s say Han and Chewie.

Eric from Phoenix

Couldn’t agree more on the spin off. Please don’t bring them on this show. Love both characters but they would overpower any chapter they were in.

Josh Carter

IG-11 the assassin turned nurse droid just may be my all time favorite droid. And Zero was fantastic. But I miss the protocol droid factor in the storytelling. When C-3PO told the groups story in ROTJ to the ewoks, in my opinion was the pinnacle of Threepios translation abilities. That moment always gets me.

Steven M DuBrey

There’s always the possibility he doesn’t want the armor back. Maybe he is just a sand person now.
