Good show. Nobody talked about Crosshair ‘s magic rifle. That détail really annoyed me.

Graham Hancock

Great analysis as ever. Enjoyed watching each episode, they were fun, but plot and characterisation didn't live up the promise for me. The first episode told us everything that was going to happen, then we spent 15 weeks watching it happen, and for the Bad Batch/Crosshair nothing really changed from the end of episode 1 to the end of the finale.

Blake Weaver

Good show guys. I got home a little late so I called at the tail end of the show. But my overall thoughts are the last episode was like a treadmill character wise. A lot going on but it didn’t go anywhere. Much like most of season 1. Not bad by any means but definitely not great.

David Fieldsend

Star Wars talk is love speech! I enjoyed the show, guys, as always!

CannibalBob

I did like the Bad Batch, but what made them more enjoyable was the after shows, thanks guys!

I couldn't make the live stream last night. Was hoping to drop more theory about the young clones going off planet to train to become purge troopers. Maybe we will get to see that in season 2! Anyways, thanks Jimmy and Jason for keeping the aftershow going during season 1. Appreciate all your hard work and for making a fun safe place for us star wars fans to geek out. Love you guys. May the force be with you

Hey guys thanks for doing these after shows for "Bad Batch", the more shows I get to listen to from you guys the better. I enjoyed the first season of Bad Batch but can't say I was really excited by it. I liked Omega and the fact that she wasn't over powered and saving the Batch every week. I feel like she held them back and cut into the level of action and conflict that The Batch could have gotten into. I absolutely do not want Omega to be Force sensitive or connected to Snoke (no ties to the sequels please) ? There are too many force users running around. I feel they take away from the importance of Luke. I say no more force users unless they are surviving Jedi hunted down and killed by Vader. Also, like Jimmy, I really wanted to see clones fighting Stormtroopers for control of Kamino (missed opportunity). Keep up the great work.

Only one thing to say about the finale....that shot underwater by Crosshair...wow!!

I've only listened to the first 13 minutes or so. But Jason brought up the question of who could have funded the clones and how there are a lot of holes in that story--at least as far as current continuity goes. Well, you guys at RFR did do a roundtable on the Plagueis novel. It's covered in that! And covered extremely well. Plagueis was a member of the Banking Clan, if I remember right, under an alias. With that kind of wealth, and getting into Syfo-dias's head a bit, along with a lot of manipulation of the system, he was able to afford the funding of the clones, if I remember right. There's more to it, but I think that's the gist.

Patrick Palen

Darth Plagueis was an amazing novel. Very thorough. I don't like Disney Canon as much, but if most of the backstory from DP counts towards Canon, then I can see how the Empire could still afford to destroy Kamino.

Alan Wills

Really enjoyed the Bad Batch, and your after shows have made it even better. So sorry that a few Imperial interlopers had to spoil things on the chat. No one should have to put up with that kind of behaviour. Well done for soldiering on regardless with some great Star Warsy chat

Yeah, I get ya. I do like the Bad Batch show, for sure. It's been a lot of fun watching it with my wife. But one of the telltale signs for me that it wasn't, say, on par with the Mandalorian is that I didn't feel compelled to have to watch it the night each episode dropped, or even a day or two later in case of something coming up. That's how it was for us with Mando: We needed to see what happened next. And while there was an element of that with this, I think it's like what Jason said: There wasn't enough of a sense of risk, namely after those first few great episodes. But I think it has more than enough to have built off of it for season 2, and if they pay off all the oddities of this season and get the boys back into the real fight (i.e. no playing it soft with stun bolts!) I'll be satisfied. I'm not even sure I need Omega to be something big and important. It's a family dynamic, for all its pitfalls in storytelling (and there are some, for sure). But it's established, now, and I can appreciate it, at least. If they show the squad growing individually, that'll be the most important thing, right alongside the clonetrooper rebellion stuff that adds to the mythology. The RFR guys asked: What do they have to fight for now that their home is gone? The answer: An idea. That of freedom from tyranny to stop others from losing their homes. Not much different than the Rebels in the OT. To ask that question is to ask what Leia would have to fight for after her home is gone. I think the BB is now keen on this idea, for various reasons, and probably will work with other clones to help in the uprising as this elite squad that can do more than anyone else can. It only makes the most sense. Otherwise so many opportunities will have been wasted. Here's hoping!

One of the weirdest things to cross my mind after this show ended. I was struck by the image of the clone tanks being empty and going down in flames, and I thought, Man, this was kind of my childhood! What I mean is, I grew up on the prequels. The image of the Kaminoan cloning facility has been so central to that, very iconic. Now, it's gone. Never thought I'd have that reaction! It's not that I feel bad for its loss. It represents too many weird things! But it is something iconic, regardless.

Blake Weaver

Dude you put it perfectly comparing it to Mando. I was up a hour earlier than I normally wake up just to see the new mando and I COULD NOT WAIT. I understand bad batch is animation and a slightly different standard. Lots of us compare it to how we viewed Rebels but I still go back to Clone Wars. Even watching the original seasons I was so compelled to binge so many arcs because I was so compelled. Biggest thing was so many arcs paid off. Bad Batch for me was a few scattered GOLDEN episodes followed by severe letdowns. I really thinks nowadays the adventure of the week just doesn’t work anymore with streaming. I know it sucks it’s come to that since I grew up on that type of programming. But given how the entertainment industry is now I don’t feel “filler” is good enough. Even in mando the “filler” episodes had moments where you can connect the dots to the overall story. I’m doing a lot of complaint about a show i liked but I see it’s potential and I wished season 1 gave me hope it could reach that. I’m still not convinced.

"There's no force using in Rogue One"... Vader doesn't count? Great show as always guys!
