Man, am I glad we had video for this one. Not an autograph hound, but the stories were a lot of fun. Solid job, Josh! Awesome to see you guys sharing your collections.

Looking forward to meeting Ashley at phoenix comicon this June. I’ll be representing RFR!

Loved this episode I’ve booked a lot of autographs at swc 2023 in london and feel a bit used Question if anyone can help. I have a few hot toys in boxes of some of the guests would you get them to autograph the box or would you get them to autograph the actual base plate

Yup I got bo katan to sign a helmet but then the box on a gentle giant figure, I’m not sure re hot toys I’ve got one from clone wars era I want Hayden and matt lanter to sign. For me I display the boxes behind the figures so the box makes sense. But I am not sure what the best way is on hot toys as have never done it before on hot toys.

Loved this episode! Autograph collecting is definitely a favorite of mine. Like you guys mentioned though it’s gotten so much more expensive than it used to be. Loved those days when you could park for an autograph and get a photo for free at the table. Definitely good advice to get some of these actors at cons outside of celebration if possible, it will be a little cheaper.

I just got caught up on this episode today. I really enjoyed this one Josh and Jimmy, great topic! It was really cool to hear the listings of all the historical autograph prices from each SW Celebration. After seeing the insane price list for autographs at the upcoming London Celebration recently, I was trying to remember what I paid for some that I got at all of the past Celebrations I've been to (2010, 2012, and 2017). It was great how at CV and CVI (and prior) you could just walk up to most tables and get photos with people when getting an autograph and chat with them for a while. I haven't collected many autographs, maybe 15 or so. But I do have a few stories, nothing as cool or interesting as some of the stories that Jimmy and Josh have, and by the way that was the best part of this episode, listening to both of your stories. But most of my stories have visuals that need to be included. Maybe I'll get a chance to share them if I ever happen to co-host a Q&A someday. Mark Hammill and Ian McDiarmid at CV or CVI (can't remember which one it was) were the most I ever paid for single autographs. One story I can share that doesn't really require any visual content takes place in the Celebration autograph hall in Orlando 2017. It relates to Jimmy's story about the Topps experience when they took over at that Celebration. I am a big Rebels fan and was working on getting several of the cast to sign a Rebels poster I found online and printed out. Most of them were easy to get because they were signing at multiple times on different days. But Taylor Gray was only signing for a couple of hours on one day (I think Saturday), from like 3-5pm. Over the days I had already easily gotten Ashley, Freddy Prinze, Jr., Sam Witwer, Tiya Sircar, Vanessa Marshall, and Steve Blum. But I still needed Ezra. So, in an attempt to make sure I was early enough in the line to meet Taylor, I showed up two hours early at 1 pm to que up. There were two, maybe three, other people there with the same idea as me. Because it was so early, there wasn't a designated line for Taylor yet. After 10 or 15 minutes of standing around in the main line before you get sent into individual actor's lines, the Topps' staff put myself and the other two or three people waiting for Taylor in an empty lane with no actor. At some point while we were waiting, a different line for Taylor was formed outside of the area where we were. By the time Taylor arrived, the other line that had been formed for him had become massive. The empty lane they put us in did end up being the correct lane for Taylor, but when they brought in the other big line they formed, other Topps' staff didn't know about the 3 of us that had already been waiting in the signing area for over 2 hours. When they started to bring in the tons of other people waiting, they told us that we had to go to the back of the line because we hadn't been waiting with that other line. We were not happy about that to say the least, and it took some time and talking to multiple people to get them to finally figure out that we were the first ones in that line. It was a bit heated there for a moment. Then of course, about 20-25 VIP ticket holders showed up and we had to wait a further 45 minutes or so before the regular line got to go. Taylor was super nice and was sympathetic about our line experience waiting for almost 3 hours at that point to meet him. He talked to each of us for a few minutes. As an added bonus, while waiting for Taylor to show up, I got to cut to the front of Daniel Logan's line to talk to him for a couple of minutes and take photos with him and Gary Fisher (Carrie's dog) for a very reasonable $10 donation, that I think went to a dog charity if I'm remembering correctly.
