Thank god this weeks episode was awesome. It really saved the season for me. All the callers were amazing tonight. The first one who called in I think hit the nail on the head with his theory on the spies being the Mandos and referring it to the biblical account in Numbers. That one call added so much to the episode I already loved.

Wow Blake absolutely nailed that prediction! I got to be honest, when he made that prediction several weeks ago I thought it sounded silly but now that it came true and it’s on the screen I freaking loved it. Excellent execution, great episode! Speaking of execution, RIP Paz Vizla.

With the name of episode being “spies”, I keep hearing everyone debating who the spy was (Axe, armorer, Bo, the “pirates” that survived on Mandalore. This whole episode kinda reminded me of a story from the Bible (Numbers 13, where Moses sent members from multiple tribes to scout out the land to see if the land is good, if there are enemies, can they live there.) It seems like that’s exactly what the point of the mission Bo led going to the planet. To make sure it’s safe and to set up a camp before the rest of the Mandalorians came down. So maybe the episode name wasn’t referring to a spy in a double crossing, back stabbed sense, but more a let’s go check out the planet and make sure we can take it back.

The spear was made into Grogu’s shirt by the armorer

Well we can all agree now that Jon Favreau is no longer voicing Paz 😁

That's a good idea! I actually really just thought it was all of the Imperials at the council, myself, who were the spies. But I like your take!

Hey, I have a fun idea! Considering they're gonna be going off Heir to the Empire here soon, what if the Project Necromancer was a way of leaning into DARK EMPIRE?! It's not too crazy to think about anymore! It'd be really interesting to see what with all the cloning stuff from Bad Batch and all. It'd be quite the twist, because everyone's just thinking of how all this will lead into Rise of Skywalker. But what if it's Dark Empire instead? To me, I'd love it to see that they bring the Emperor back so much sooner than we expected. It would make him a thorn in the side of the New Republic in some interesting ways during that period while still leaning towards Ep 9 as his final downfall. A kind of culmination, adding a little more weight to his return. (It would also kind of remedy Poe's line in ROTS a bit when he kind of nonchalantly says "Palpatine's back." Lol It'd be more of a "Here we go again" kind of line instead of kinda deadpan.) Bring Luke back into the fold with it all, too. And Leia, for the matter.

It would also help to make a little more sense as to why the Emperor came back all old and decrepit. If they did the Dark Empire thing, he would come back young. But that can only happen so much before he just can't do it anymore and would only come back old and haggard. Then when we see him in ROTS it makes more sense why he's falling apart.

Why is Moff able to strong arm anything he wants from the rest of the empire creeps

Dude it’s Gus Fringe and he wears cooler shit than the rest of the empire council guys, they kinda have to listen to him!

I gotta say, I'm just not buyin' the conspiracy theories behind the Armorer. Lol When you hear her talking to Bo to bring all the Mandalorians back, in her voice it sounds like she's genuinely worried about their survival. She cites to Bo the all too practical need for everyone to band together if they are to survive as a people, and says point blank that there's no hope for their little covert of a handful of them to ever make such an impact on their own. I think it's in that moment that she reveals herself for the first time. I think before that that she was more secretive and a mystery, but it sounded very plain to me what her real motivations were in that conversation. Really, it sounded like a confession. It revealed a vulnerability to her we had not seen before. I think it also revealed that she had been thinking seriously about Bo's own revelation about having seen a legend come to life (the Mythosaur) and that, like Bo herself, it revealed how her faith was renewed. I don't think it was a sudden about face for her at all to suddenly come out with her idea to retake Mandalore. It seems clear to me it's about her faith being ignited again. Why would she want her own people all wiped out when she hates the Empire as much as the others...? Why would she be hiding in sewers and risking her own death again and again if it was just some weird plan to gather up heretics? She knows she'd be back in the sewers hiding with a dozen or more Mandos, if not dead. Her plea to Bo sounded very heartfelt and genuine to me, talking about the Forges and the glory days of Mandalore and all that. She might be misguided in her religious zeal, but I hardly think that has shown her to be a conniving, evil-minded person, regardless of horns on her helmet. Time will tell, though!

Since it seems they are finally going to cherry pick the old EU (Legends), I wonder if the female warlord is going to be name Isard?

Something else I just thought about as to why she's probably not in league with Gideon: Gideon's stormtroopers murdered a ton of her own people in season 1--including kids. At the end of the season when Mando goes down into the covert and sees firsthand the results of the destruction of their home. Pretty sure that would give her cause to hate Gideon, not side with him! Lol
