This photo selection showcases a small fraction of my Star Wars collection when I was able to display some of it in the various houses I lived in from 2002-2020. Unfortunately, almost all of my collection is boxed up and in storage at this time. I'm hopeful that I will be able to display and enjoy it again someday. I hate not being able to look at and hold my SW toys and memorabilia without digging through stacks of storage containers. I also couldn't resist including a photo of me sitting with my life-sized Simpsons display. These were made for promotional displays in theaters when The Simpsons Movie was released in 2007. Supposedly only 1500 were made and I managed to get my hands on one of them. Unfortunately, when I moved in 2013, I could not take it with me to my new location and ended up selling it to a tattoo shop in Florida. I hope you all enjoy seeing some of these.

That's an awesome collection the droideka and Simpsons display are very cool.

Jordan H.

the droideka is genuinely jaw dropping

Chris, what an amazing collection! Especially the large-scale figures- you have so many! And a destroyer droid! What's the story behind that? Housing a collection is one of the hardest parts of collecting. One reason I stopped collecting a wide range of items (SW books, comics, and TVC and TBS figures) is that I realized in late 2021 (when I packed up to move) how much I had accumulated in just 6 years. I mentally flashed forward 20 or 30 years and realized it would just be too much 'stuff' I'd have to eventually part with as I aged and had to downsize into retirement. So, I've been donating and selling off my collection and focusing on fewer, but higher-priced, collectibles (sixth scale and statues) and trying to keep to a strict 4-tiered approach to what I collect to try and stay on target.

Jared Cantor

Oh, I know Jimmy is all about freeing figures from their plastic prisons, but I have to admit seeing the card art is at least half of the fun. And you have quite the carded collection.

Kenny

Thank you so much for sharing, fab collection!

zillobeast

Wow! Massive envy! Love this I have only been a patreon for 3 years or so so may have missed some previous gems but this looks like my fav I’ve seen on here. Can I ask you where you got the droideka?

Tanya S

Wow, Cris! Your collection is phenomenal! 😍

Turtle Wars

Thank you, definitely one of my favorites. I just wish I had one made out of solid materials.

Turtle Wars

Thanks! The droideka was 1 of 4 book store displays sent out in 1999. The others were R2 (which you can see in one or two of the photos hiding in the background), a battle droid, and a pit droid. I had all 4 many years ago but they are just thin paper board, delicate and easily damaged. I totally agree with you on the collecting. I have let a lot of stuff go but I do seem to keep buying more. I did quit the Black Series about 10 months ago though. My current plan is to completely gut a single-wide manufactured home that I have access to and turn it into a 900 sq. ft. Star Wars display. I have tons of modern stuff, Sideshow, and Gentle Giant as well. Maybe in a year I’ll have a video to send in to RFR.

Turtle Wars

Thank you. Yes, there are many that I like to have open and carded, which is why I used to always try to buy 2 or 3 of each. Nowadays, some I get specifically to open, but most I leave carded. It’s gotten too expensive for me to buy multiples, other than rare circumstances. For instance, I will get 2 sets of TVC Ghost crew so I can keep one set locked up on their mural cards.

Turtle Wars

Thanks, anytime! I always enjoy seeing other people’s collections and displays. I love that museum atmosphere.

Diana Orr

I am completely in awe of your collection. Like the others, the droideka blew me away. Amazing work Cris.

Turtle Wars

Thanks zillobeast! Glad you enjoyed seeing the photos. I’ve looked through all of the Collector’s Spotlights. RFR Patreon members have some nice and diverse collections. You can read the story about the droideka in my reply to Jared below in the comments. I bought all 4 of those store displays in a single auction on EBay in 2004 or 05. All of the pieces come flat in a large box about 1-2” thick. You have to painstakingly fold all the pieces and fit them together without making any mistakes or accidentally tearing the paperboard. It took me hours to put that together. It was a pain in the ass but well worth it to have a life size destroyer droid in my house.

Turtle Wars

Thank you Tanya! I just wish I had the proper space to display it now so I could take updated photos and video of the collection.

Dylan McGee

Impressive collection! Wow! Looks like you only need General Lando to fill out your Kenner vintage collection.

Peter Beisser

Amazing stuff, TW! Thanks for sharing. ✌️

Eddie Baker

Sweet! Love the way you have it organized.

Brian Walters

The Star Wars collection is amazing, but what is the story on that Simpsons display? That is incredible!

Turtle Wars

Thanks! Good eye! I took that photo of the vintage Kenner figures on the glass coffee table around 2008. I acquired general Lando not long after that. There were a few years back then when that was the only one I didn’t have for some reason.

Eric from Phoenix

My gosh, great collection. I love the variety and how you have it all displayed. I’ll admit that my favorites are the Kenner figures and autographs. Great pictures / frames and matting on the autographs. I think I see most of the Kenner POTF figures including Yakface? Wow! Also my personal favorite Blue Snaggletooth. Thanks for sharing.

Turtle Wars

Thanks Diana! I wish I still had that droideka. I still have all of my other life-size figures.

Turtle Wars

Thank you! It was a display made for select movie theaters when The Simpsons Movie was released in 2007. There was also a hefty 12 ft back drop that was part of the display.

Valentin

Wow that is a big collection, the Droideka is awesome and I love the TCW figs !

Mark

Holy Cow! Each time I moved on to a new picture I was like “Oh my God…Oh my God…Oh my God…” Like most others my eyeballs sprang from my skull when I saw the Droideka. Love how there’s the occasional turtle lurking on the fringes of some of the displays ❤️. Awe inspiring collection!

ANDREW KNUDSON

Wow! That is an impressive collection Chris! Hopefully you'll be able to display them all again someday soon!

Turtle Wars

Thanks Mark! My turtle collection (figures, art, literature, living, and skeletal) is extensive. I’m actually surprised that there weren’t more turtle things scattered about in those photos.

Turtle Wars

Glad you liked the photos Eric. The original Kenner collection and my framed autographs (I have several more not shown) are my favorites as well. The vintage Kenner is the base of my collecting starting in 1978.

Ben P. Stein

Wow, awesome collection, Cris, I love so much of this, from the Jedi council circle to the life-sized Simpsons display. I really like how the figures are boxed in their attractive packaging yet clear as day to see. Thanks for sharing!

CineWars

Impressive, most impressive! :)

Echo3

I also acquired some of the DK books cardboard full size episode 1 displays. I still think I have a Pit Droid and Battle droid I built the Droideka right away and it has fallen apart over time
