Hey guys,

Here's the 0.5.1 update for House Party.  This build addresses a lot of the issues that were found in 0.5.0 as you guys were play-testing it, and it should also have full support for OSX and Linux.

You can check the Version Release Notes to see what's changed.

This is tested and working on OSX here, but I don't have a Linux box to test on so let me know how you guys make out.

This is on Mac? What quality settings are you running?

Did you try different resolutions? I'm re-testing again on my Mac here to make sure the build isn't corrupted.

Hmm. Strange. I just downloaded it on the Macbook Pro and it looks fine on every setting. Could you try re-downloading it just to make sure the file wasn't corrupted? Also, maybe a reboot just to make sure it's not something with your video drivers?

From version 0.4.2.1 onwards, I still can't start a new game. The button doesn't work. I've tried changing the resolution, moving the mouse around, changing to windowed, unzipping and deleting it over and over.

No. It looks the same as the other buttons.

Does it light up when you hover over it like the others?

I actually did get it to work by accident. I went browsing for about 10 minutes, left the game on in the background. The button started lighting up when I hovered over it, first time i was able to play it since the old public versions. Does the game sometimes take a long time to load?

If the button doesn't light up it means the game is having a hard time getting to the internet to download the latest version. If it eventually lit up, I would gather it was just taking a really long time to download (for some reason, the file is only a few kilobytes). Make sure that House Party has internet access and that you are not blocking it with a firewall or something.

hi have a question about the custom create story I'm having a lot of trouble with it how do I change the friendship values on it ? I watched the vid but didn't make sence to me ?

I wish it was a firewall. My internet is just that bad. I go through most downloads using my phone and using it as a flash drive. Thank you though.

What OS? Also, be sure to allow the game access to the internet. It downloads the latest story file from the server. If a firewall application is blocking it or you are playing offline, it can result in a blank story.

Check to see that story files were downloaded to Documents/Eek/House Party/Mods/Stories/Original Story
