I'm pretty happy with this whole sequence turned out, especially the middle panel which has become the eponymous heroine image of the comic. I did the muzzle flash effects using a sponge, building up progressively darker areas around the blank white of the page. Posca pen was added to show the gas escaping from the cylinder gap.I've really grown my background drawing ability in this comic, but the most useful skill is knowing when and where to use them. Sometimes no background at all can be the most powerful framing, as is the case with Arthur getting shot. Similarly, the lack of punctuation in his last word emphasizes his rapid death.
