CUT TO: An extremely referenced splash panel of Bletchley Park. This estate in Milton Keynes is historically relevant in our time as the headquarters of the allied codebreaking efforts of WW2. The team of codebreakers here developed technology to break communications encryption used by axis forces, leading to many breakthroughs in counterintelligence and early computing. In Purifier, no Hitler and no war makes for a different path through history. I still wanted to use this iconic technological center as part of the story but adapt it to a different challenge faced by London, the nature of how that manifests being explored through this sequence. These teletypewriters are genuine technology of the time used to send text electronically and they work pretty much the way they look. Type on one and another at the other end of the line replicates the keystrokes with its own ribbon. We'll touch on Charles over the next couple pages.

This one made me remember and wonder: is the Crystal Palace still standing in this world, or was it so difficult to maintain that when the outbreak happened it fell into ruin before events in the story take place? Or perhaps it was an early use case for the government before things began to fall apart. Fascinating ideas inspired by your world building. Keep up the good work!

Alex, thanks for using Bletchley Park, and for showing the teletype machines. I vaguely remember hearing of them, and seeing them in a few old movies.
