Poor Gill. Any ambiguity readers might have had at the end of chapter four is definitively squashed with this opening panel. The cloth covering her face moderates the gore a little and seemed like an appropriate bit of British decorum. To set the scene, I put Tilly standing grimly in center with the other characters standing nearby in discussion and props strewn around. The feel I wanted was one of thoughtful analysis, an uncomfortable calm after the violence.Technically speaking the gunmen would probably have stolen Gill's sidearm but I felt like its absence in this scene would be weirder without it.
