As mentioned on chapter breaks previously, the number of bacteria will continue to multiply and spread as the story goes on. I think I may have flicked some droplets from my brush to get this effect, and using slightly dilute ink made them dry unevenly and form into the little bubbles you can see near the bottom. There's so much you can do in traditional media if you're willing to get a little messy!
