New Year is coming, so I decided to upload my shader-based fireworks!

Why do we need shaders for this?

Shaders have much better performance then standard unity particle systems.

Also this shader can be controlled by a render texture! Yes, it means that if you're using it for VRChat, you can control the firework progress with a video stream.

Actually, it was created for VRChat worlds to celebrate the New Year and activate fireworks from the video stream. Just like in Times Square world, but without scripting.

How to use it with video stream in VRChat:

Just place a special firework-mesh, I provided in this package, somewhere into your scene and apply a firework shader material. Or grab already presetted fireworks from a demo scene.

Mind that material parameter called "Test animation" should be turned off for this way of using fireworks.

To configure it for working with a render texture or a video stream, let's create a quad-mesh and apply your firework material to it. Then, choose the "Configure mode" in your material properties. Now just play with "Source X" and "Source Y" parameters to choose which point of your render texture will be used for grabbing a progress value from it.

Progress value should be gradating from black to white to control your progress.

Making a video stream with a required animation is on your side. The best way would be to create a web-page with some time-based logic to activate your fireworks in a right timing.

NOTE: Parameter called "Progress" should be used if you are controlling your fireworks from a script, and must be zero if you're using a render texture.

That's it. Be free to use it wherever you want. If you want to support me, you can become my patron and get even more cool assets from me.

PS: Shader parameters available for you:

PS: PS: I also put a free simple dynamic skybox shader in this package for you ;3
